Im a catholic but i go to christian church and it was so different because those who want to share what God have done to their life can freelly do it. and when thewhen its time to sing worship songs you woundnt see a single sleepy head in there because everyone are so energized, raising their hands, feeling the song and i just love it. during that time i feel reunited with God for i feel the Holy spirit during that time. thats why i love praising songs
@dyantrompeta2011 VERY hard to find a church like that these days. My church is the opposite I always think "hello wake up sleepy heads your saved!:)" Hardley anyone sings and very few raise their hands. :(

Regarding faith Vs. works, our priest explained it to me this way: We are saved by grace, through faith in order to do good works. In other words, niether faith nor works alone are enough for salvation. Only God's grace through Christ's death atones for our sins. Our works are the evidence of God's Grace in our lives. I really really really like this song!!! This is great. Wow, what Jesus did for us. And for Him to not only love us in spite of everything we'vedone, but to want to be with us too! Reminds me of the book of Hosea. God told Hosea to marry a prostitute, and He was using their relationship as a symbol of God's relationship to the children of Israel. Jesus' love and sacrifice is truly an amazing, mind-blowing mystery.

No, it does not specifically say "God works in mysterious ways" in the Bible, but there are other scriptures basically give the same idea: Psalm 19:1, Ecclesiastes 11:5, 1 Corinthians 12:6, Galatians 2:8, Psalm 75:1, Jeremiah 29:11, Romans 8:28. God finds all kinds of ways to speak to our hearts, that's all I mean by saying God works in mysterious ways
@ChildofGod318 I was more trying to emphasize my point. God doesn't work in mysterious ways. Period. God does nothing without first revealing it to His prophets. You may mean that God uses different ways to speak to us, but when you use a phrase like that, you are basically implying to the world and other not-so-stable Christians that we are simply mere blind sheep just at tthe whim of our master. I really do hate that phrase and hope it gets out of ALL Christian's mouths once and for all.

God is a divine power, He created us! Since the fall of Adam and Eve humans have free will, God can't control what we do. What I was trying to say was that when you claim that God works in mysterious ways, you aren't describing God correctly. God says in his word, "Can two walk together, except they be agreed?" (Amos 3:3) and "Surely the Sovereign LORD does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets." (Amos 3:7)
@lrioje1 Also, most people use that phrase when referring to natural disasters, deaths, and calamities. The world has jumped right on it. Many of us get insured against acts of God. God is being painted as someone who does things randomly (in quite a few accusations, evil things) and we are just to accept it. God wouldn't have written 66 books about himself if he wanted to be mysterious. I'm not saying that we must not be sheep at the whim of the master, I am saying that we must not be blind.

@lrioje1 Maybe you should read verse seven as well. That verse is greatly connected to those two. The word "for" is a conjunction -meaning that it links two different phrases, sentences or ideas. I find that when you connect all three, it makes more sense.

This is a nice song. But.. It's too ambiguous.. If I did not know this were a Christian band I would have thought the singer was singing to a woman. Well i did notice some allusion to scripture but besides that it is too open to interpretation.The message of Christ must not be left open to interpretation but it must be clear! I like this band's idea though and I hope that through Jesus Christ they are strengthened in their ministry and that they continue to seek to praise God.

Im glad you enjoyed it .. however make sure you realize the 1 thing that sets Christ apart from EVERY other religeon is the fact that man cant offer God ANYTHING and salvation as hard as it is to understand is not based on works.
Make sure salvation is already believed, THEN apply the works because at that point its out of gratitude and not to earn salvation.

@Greefer that is what im learning in my theology class. Im trying to get a catholic in my class to believe that salvation is not based on works but rather faith. when you come to know jesus as your savior, you will produce works because your heart has changed.

Rather, pray your brother or sister in Christ, that the spirit may find a way to work through you if you feel you must convince this person.

I agree with your last sentence, though.

@PlainRayna Why are you so mad? Look at the world around you and tell me that you can't see God's handy work. No, it does not specifically say "God works in mysterious ways" in the Bible, but there are other scriptures basically give the same idea: Psalm 19:1, Ecclesiastes 11:5, 1 Corinthians 12:6, Galatians 2:8, Psalm 75:1, Jeremiah 29:11, Romans 8:28. God finds all kinds of ways to speak to our hearts, that's all I mean by saying God works in mysterious ways

@ChildofGod318 I was more trying to emphasize my point. God doesn't work in mysterious ways. Period. God does nothing without first revealing it to His prophets. You may mean that God uses different ways to speak to us, but when you use a phrase like that, you are basically implying to the world and other not-so-stable Christians that we are simply mere blind sheep just at tthe whim of our master. I really do hate that phrase and hope it gets out of ALL Christian's mouths once and for all.

God is a divine power, He created us! Since the fall of Adam and Eve humans have free will, God can't control what we do. Which is one reason why He speaks to us through all sorts of things to get our attention to go the right way. He can show us the way, but we have to choose to take it

@lrioje1 I never said we should not desire to be slaves to God's will. That was not what I was trying to say. I apologize if that's what it seemed like. What I was trying to say was that when you claim that God works in mysterious ways, you aren't describing God correctly. God says in his word, "Can two walk together, except they be agreed?" (Amos 3:3) and "Surely the Sovereign LORD does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets." (Amos 3:7)

@lrioje1 Also, most people use that phrase when referring to natural disasters, deaths, and calamities. The world has jumped right on it. Many of us get insured against acts of God. God is being painted as someone who does things randomly (in quite a few accusations, evil things) and we are just to accept it. God wouldn't have written 66 books about himself if he wanted to be mysterious. I'm not saying that we must not be sheep at the whim of the master, I am saying that we must not be blind.

@lrioje1 Maybe you should read verse seven as well. That verse is greatly connected to those two. The word "for" is a conjunction -meaning that it links two different phrases, sentences or ideas. I find that when you connect all three, it makes more sense.

This is a nice song. But.. It's too ambiguous.. If I did not know this were a Christian band I would have thought the singer was singing to a woman. Well i did notice some allusion to scripture but besides that it is too open to interpretation.The message of Christ must not be left open to interpretation but it must be clear! I like this band's idea though and I hope that through Jesus Christ they are strengthened in their ministry and that they continue to seek to praise God.

The Church is Christ's Bride. The whole of scripture is a love story. It is the ONLY interpretation. The first real words of man in genisis are amazement of woman. and the last words of scripture in revelation is the Spirit and the BRIDE say come.

James is a HEAVY HEAVY book.
Im glad you enjoyed it .. however make sure you realize the 1 thing that sets Christ apart from EVERY other religeon is the fact that man cant offer God ANYTHING and salvation as hard as it is to understand is not based on works.
Make sure salvation is already believed, THEN apply the works because at that point its out of gratitude and not to earn salvation.
Its a hard onefor sure. Keep going as no one including myself has it all figured out :)

@Greefer that is what im learning in my theology class. Im trying to get a catholic in my class to believe that salvation is not based on works but rather faith. when you come to know jesus as your savior, you will produce works because your heart has changed.

@himynameisjustind I'm a practicing Lutheran... but it is not the job of any human to make another believe anything. A human cannot make another human believe ANYTHING. it is the work of the spirit. Rather, pray your brother or sister in Christ, that the spirit may find a way to work through you if you feel you must convince this person.

@himynameisjustind I'm Catholic. We don't believe we earn our salvation by works. Jesus paid the debt we couldn't pay. There is nothing in this world that anyone could do to earn salvation. We can NOT earn salvation. However, we are to hold on to the gift of salvation He has given us. Just clearing a few things up for you so you understand what Catholics really believe. I agree with your last sentence, though.

I love how much God loves us!! He loves us more than any boyfriend or girlfriend could ever love us, even though we usually put them first. He loves us in every way you COULD love someone.
