What a great video. I'll post it to Connellsville youtube and Facebook accounts. You do mention Connellsville. What a leap through history! Qman, you have a great library of videos.
qman, what a great service you are doing by making these videos! This is very well done, informative and takes us to a place that was. Thanks very much! I learned a lot and see Dunbar in a new light! Please give us more! Will be looking for the Swearinger ghost video you mentioned! Thanks, again!
well put together. The trolley tracks were taken up, no doubt with haste, just a GM planned. I mean its one thing to stop the train service but pulling up the tracks. Then GM was taken to court and given a hand slapping for the damage they did to numerous towns.
I definately prefer the before shots. Think of how cool it would be to come upon a town like that today, with few of our technological advances, like high speed internet and computer.
@StMeade that is the second time I have heard the GM story in the past month. Makes sense unfortunately. GM was bigger than the government in the 1950's. In Pittsburgh that was really true. PAT Transit was created from several small independent bus and trolley companies, and their first order of the day was to kill trolley service in 1964, so they could buy several (GM) buses.
everyday is a history :D

Good video. In Dunbar my grandfather was born in 1884. With the best greeting from Werner from Dresden.

It may have a low tech approach, but the content and historical value make this a VERY good video.
