New vegas is not that bad of a game, and is a pretty good game on its own. However, compared to the other fallout games, it doesn't stand up to par. it's not "wasteland" enough, really.

This is the song that has drilled into my memory, and it is never going to leave. I have heard this so many times I have lost count. I have completed Fallout 2 3 times, but i have started playing it about 20 times from the beginning. The reason is because of the damn bugs! (your car disappears, the game crashes when trying to leave a screen etc..)

So the reason why the song of Klamath has drilled into my memory is because it is the first actual city where you enter in the game to progress.
