I'm pretty sure they played this at the very first Nearfest. I was there. Great show. So much energy that night. I like all the Neal era albums quite a bit.
I love people comparing Dream Theater to Spock's Beard, seen as one band is a progressive metal band and the other is a progressive rock band sort of branching to indie pop and old prog music. It's sort of like comparing Metallica to Dire Straits. The two genres (although they are both called "progressive") have very little in common.
@seppet0ni pretty much true there for real. i don't even compare bands. i simply enjoy them all for what they are, individuals and mighty fantastic :) they all have their own sounds and whatnot. With this song many many many thumbs up. Loooooove it!
Yeah, Spock's Beard have nothing to compare with Dream Theater. They play real Prog Rock music, with melody and stuff while Dream is based (actually, since "6 degrees..." album) on heavy and "metal" sounds.
This song is wonderful, the arrengments, the melody, the vocals, the sound... everything is perfect. It reminds me some of The Beatles song, and Yes songs as well.
@Acidmetric You've obviously not heard much Dream Theater. If you're looking for vocal harmonies though, Dream Theater's songs don't have many, but many of them are amazingly melodic like A Change in Seasons or Octivarium. Having a heavy or "metal" sound doesn't mean its not melodic.
Looks like Morningstar mine road west of Vegas in the spring.
and a great track as well !

One of my favorite songs by the band. You can hear some early Kansas harmony in there. Also a touch of Fee Waybill.

This is from the Kindness of Strangers album.
That album has so many awesome songs, Harm's Way, Strange World, and The Good Don't Last are all very good songs too.

@Acidmetric: Dream Theater are still very melodic. and way more soullful than ignorant idiots think.
