  • What song is this? I must know O.o

  • @MetalLeg73 This is a song that i wrote called Rasputin. Thanks for watching.

  • Great playing and great tone dude -but whats up with all the devil stuff?

  • @LJOHNS123 Thanks. The house i was playing in had a plastic (i hope) skull there, so i put it on the amp. No real devil worshipping was happening.

  • Excellent sound on this recording...very creamy

  • @RazorLandStudio Thanks RLS

  • Great song & tone,,,unbelievable solo

  • @CAF1productions Thanks CAF1!

  • What a music?

  • Hahah.... the sip of the Corona at 1:58. That's great!

  • Brilliant, does a DSL really sound that good? or you are the kind of guy who can plug into a parsnip and sound great. Top drawer, love the neck pup solo.

  • @Danthehorse Thanks brother! Yeah its an affordable amp that sounds pretty good i think. Throw a sm-57 in front of it and have at it.

  • Nice tune and great playing! w w w bluesboyking co uk

  • @jasenorthblues Thanks man!

  • This pretty much sums all of the emotions I've been feeling the past week up. You have so much feel in your playing and compositions, I wish I could someday reach your level of musicianship :)

  • @EDrixX Thanks. That's a nice compliment.

  • Thanks again for the settings. I bought a the DOD 308 last night on ebay. I'll never make it sound as good as you do, but I'm sure it will help.

  • Thanks for the settings on the amp. Could you tell me what you had the DOD 308 set at? Thanks again and you are great!!

  • @rceng11 Both the level and gain were set at about the 3 oclock position.

  • Amazing song full of emotion , feel and touch, from a truly great player. Simply superb !

  • @MrHalfachimp Thanks a lot!

  • Brother, I am Brazilian, I was a fan to hear the sound that plays, I'm guitarist and I congratulate the video, I wish that most guitarists put videos like this, with this quality ... worth it.

  • @FPeggas Greetings to Brazil! Thanks a lot for feeling the video.

  • You are great. What was the volume setting on the gain channel?

  • @rceng11 Thanks. Gain-10, volume-5, master-3

  • Hi Colin, you have a great sound!!!! :-) can you tell me which pick up mount you squier? Tnx

  • @mikkiosantoro1 Thanks. In the Squier i had a Seymour Duncan Lil Sreamin demon in the bridge and a Dimarzio YJM in the neck. In this Strat i have a set of Fender Hot Noiseless.

  • yeah man !!!!

  • @TheDonKomninos clean channel: gain/volume:6 treble:2 middle:7 bass:10 and the Gain channel: Gain:10 treble:1 middle:8 bass:10 master volume on about 3. Thanks.

  • Great tune! Excellent vibe

  • HOW HAVE I NOT SEEN THIS TILL NOW?!?!?!?!?!?!?! I'm gonna make a note to myself to check out your records :D

  • Very cool. Great playing and cool tone, man! I love the DSL 401 It's got such a grunged out tone, yet still sweet. Nice track, check out my stuff if you like...

  • Hi Colin,

Your songs and your playing is just awesome. I am going to buy your CD if it's available.

  • @PipusMr Thanks a lot for the nice words. My CD "Mental Instruments" is at cdbaby and itunes.

  • Awesome tone!

  • Why only 8,000 views?? And who are the 3 idiots who DIDN'T like this??!!! A very nice piece of music and performance. Thank you for posting.

  • @ThePoppster Thanks a lot for the kind words. Glad you enjoyed it!

  • Really nice song.. How is the Marshall DSL401? Will it be good for blues and rock with my strat and heavier stuff with my Ibanez ?

  • @ArielAltaratz Thanks. Its a nice amp. Yeah, your description of guitars is spot on. You still might need an overdrive pedal to do brutal metal though. If you can, try to get one made from 2004 on as run a little cooler i believe. the earlier ones have some overheating issues.

  • nice... good timing on the sip, too

  • Just out of interest, what make and guage of strings are you using?

  • @MrFenderkev I use Ernie Ball hybrid slinkys 9-46 but any brand with that guage is good for me.

  • Great tune and guitar playing. Where can we download the mp3?

  • @VanJanick Thank you. I'm hoping to have the music on itunes and cdbaby in a month or two.

  • Great song! You're great!...How is DOD 308? I'm doing some research before a purchase! Bye!

  • @steven5555cool Thanks! I think its a fine pedal especially for the money. It does have a lot of high end though. It works good with the jcm2000 but i'm sure it would be even better with an older plexi or another darker sounding type of amp.

  • This is a great composition, and outstanding playing! I have it in my favourites! Can't believe someone hasn't signed you to a record deal.

  • great great great great playing - i love this.

  • Dude, you rock!!! I found your vid because I am doing research on this amp before a purchase. You have me sold!!! Way to go

  • @kbstarrider Thanks a lot for checking out my vid.! Hope you enjoy the amp and best of luck to you.

  • Nice....

  • Cole! Dude... You ROCK! Come house it some more!

    Patti

  • @DILLIGAF5957 Thanks Patti! Anytime. let me know.

  • WOW great job!

  • Hey, I have this amp and similar guitar. Could you let me in on some tone setting secrets? Are you still using the DOD on the clean channel? Do you ever get much use out of the middle crunch channel?

  • @simonjbeaumont Yes, the treble i keep real low at about 1 or 2 with the Strat. If its a darker humbucker guitar i will put it a little higher. The mids are about halfway and the bass is on 10. I'm using a BYOC DOD 250 grey box clone now but i only use it on the red od channel for a boost and some extra gain. I use the yellow od sometimes for a light crunch but not as much as the clean and red od. Thanks for checking out the video.

  • how's the amp? awesome stuff by the way....

  • @AkisColdplay Thanks! I like the amp. It sounds pretty good and is light to carry.

  • I love this Cole! Always been one of your biggest fans and friend, ha! Dude you've come so far...keep up the excellent work!

  • @singingScheetz Thanks so much Cyn and everyone here for checking out my vid and the nice words!

  • Your playing and composing is really, really inspiring.

    Respect

  • finally some instrumental Guitar with Soul - love it now if i could get 1/8 as good as that im happy - keep it up

  • really kick ass rock!

  • All I can say if you need to be on stage some where -

I will be the first to buy your CD - which you need to make -

Thanks for sharing your talent on you tube - better than Satriani! LOL - Awesome

    please make a CD

  • @suomihuey Thanks a lot for the compliments and checking out the vid. I'm working on a cd and getting a new band together.

  • wow that is very good!

  • Great vid, great style..!

  • Cole, I love your style. Great technique without overkill on the solo's... whew!

I found you from that other video on your e-bay listing... "Resurrection" is killer! I have an Epi LP Custom Plus and can't make it sound like that! You're an inspiration !

  • @tex2newmex Thanks a lot for the compliment and checking out the video!

  • Great playing Man ! im think about buy one of these marshall... can you make a some kind of sound review without any pedal ? just amp and strat ;)

    Best whishes !

  • @Kropas1 Thanks. I will try to do a video with just a guitar and amp in the future, but there are moments when the pedal is not on in my videos.. Its a good, light and affordable tube Marshall.

  • great sound, saving for a fender highway one strat with gotoh hardware and fender hot noiseless pups, i have v's and explorer's and want a traditional style strat for the family now

  • @gmbob22 Thanks. Yes, it doesn't feel complete without a Fender Strat and a Gibson in the collection.

  • DOD308 overdrive only on solos?

  • @BrasilGuitar yes, the DOD308 was used on the solos and melodic parts for some extra gain.

  • sounds epic

  • love your sound! sound epic!

  • @surfacexmusic Thanks! I like drama and epics

  • SUBSCRIBE! mainly for that amazing tone at 1:06

you're great man! what do you think of the dsl 401 i may be getting one soon. i hear about the overheating problems

  • @mefmef21 Hi! Thanks. My DSL is from 99' so it runs hot. I've had it for 6 months with no problem. I keep a little desk fan behind it so it keeps cool. It's 11 years old and still here so... I had a TSL122 for 10 years that i did the same thing with and had no problems. That amp was a little too heavy to carry though.. You can plug the 401 into a 4-12 cab if you want a bigger sound. Best of both worlds. I like it for an affordable Marshall combo.

  • Great playing man!!!! Did you use the DOD for all the solos??

  • @mtaygoldin Thanks a lot man! yeah the DOD i always kick on for solos for extra gain and sustain. For heavy rhythm parts as well. Not bad for a $29 pedal! The high end can be a little brutal though..

  • @oceantidestudio Wow this is really great! did you write this?

Also what do you think of the Fender Hot Noiseless Pickups?

    Thanks. :)

  • @fredericiscool Hi Thanks. Yes i wrote this. My ADD prevents me from learning others peoples stuff anymore so i write my own! I really like the Hot Noiseless pups for crunchy and high gain stuff especially. The sound is tight and beefy. For clean and chimey stuff they are pretty good, but i think there are better pickups for pure clean playing.

  • Thanks.. No, just the DOD overdrive was used. I did add a little chorus, tremelo and delay in Logic Pro after it was recorded.

  • Great show. No effects or stomp boxes????
