  • Great video, I love seeing how things are made. MDF is a great materials because it uses wood that comes from sustainably managed forests if it is FSC certified that is, it uses waste residue from saw mills as well as small trees that are not suitable for anything else called thinnings.

The only thing missing for me to make it perfect is a natural glue. It is only a matter of time before someone produces a natural glue to bind the fibers, that way you would burn it in your fire

  • @CustomCarpentryUK I'm afraid more often than not sustainably monocultured "softwoods"

  • Yep, I've never seen HDF, or never had the opportunity to buy some, can we only find it in factories and not in shops?

  • This is going to sound dumb but ive convinced myself that it is impossible to find HDF in the 4th biggest city in the U.S.

  • what is the difference between MDF and HDF? the density or strength?

  • @MrResentment Really?! The clue REALLY is in the name my friend!! Give it some thought and i'm sure the answer will come to you! Let me know when the penny drops! ;)

  • @MisterRolls lol i know that already i just thought that there was more behind it...... :'(

  • @MrResentment The MD is medium density the HD is highdensity

  • sprouse and pine are softwoods
