Most metal armor only looks good and would not be very practical. The bottom line is no matter how much the guy wearing it would be protected. If it prevents you from fluid motion. The guy/gal attacking with out any armor at all will kill you.
It is much like a turtle. The armor is nice but you become a speed bump to a passing truck. Which then you being the turtle, means you just got your ass killed lol XD
If I were to wear anything. I'd wear gaunts/pauldrons/crotch and use leather studded =)
@WildBuck007 I think there's enough practical evidence to show that statement is just not true. The real plate armor that 14th and 15th century knights and mercenaries wore--as opposed to incorrect fantasy movie replicas like this--was flexible enough to dance in, and it was quite possible to run or sprint in it. They did not compromise as much mobility for protection as you think. If I were going into longbow or crossbow fire, I'd take plate over leather for superior protection.
@WildBuck007 ah, but that's where I think you're wrong. It really depends on many factors, which make it easier or harder to carry the same amount of weight. Medieval armor distributes the weight over your body, so that no one part of your body is weighed down too much to move. It was worn by physically fit soldiers who were stronger than average. Armor was also perfectly fitted to the wearer, so a smaller person's armor weighed less.
@WildBuck007 Also, modern soldiers carry 60-70 pounds of equipment in the heat of battle in Iraq and Afghanistan, and they manage somehow. In fact, they're worse off than medieval soldiers because their modern body armor is actually more uncomfortable than medieval armor and distributes their equipment's weight less effectively. Here on Youtube watch "Weapons that Made Britain: Armour", which presents evidence that plate armor was very good and practical by physically demonstrating it.
@WildBuck007 I apologize if you aren't interested, I just hope you won't go around telling people that plate armor sucks, because historians and combat specialists who have physically tried it on and fought in it have proven that it is very effective and practical protection. I'm worried that if you give your advice to people without knowing what you're talking about, like you just did, then you'll convince other impressionable people of views that are factually incorrect.
@fragnotmyass to answer your question of how much they are they are $400 dollar's on most sites i just checks and i cried so much cause of the price but look so worth it

50-80 pounds of metal on your body does not make for easy movement no matter what time period XD
