  • Hi, how did u cut out the round circles in your headlight tint?

  • Funny thing is our stories are familiar, my dad is an epidemiologist , so I'm drawn to the medical field at well, I am from queens NY and my name is OJ, my email is orussel@albany.edu, we can chat there instead of on your YouTube thread.

  • I'm actually applying there, I'm applying to both allopathic and osteopathic schools. Taking my Mcat soon, any advice? And once I'm done with apps I'm going to relax and work on getting a G.

  • Nice car bro, I'm actually looking to get one upon entrance to medical school this year, What school do you attend?

  • @hotkd78

Hi there, nice to see that there's another medical student that is into cars. I am attending VCOM which is also known as the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, VA. What school are you going to attend? Know what specialty you like? I wanna do pediatrics cuz I wanna help sick kids. But yea school has definitely gotten in the way of my car hobby and especially sleep haha, but of course becoming a physician is the priority.

  • You were doing great until you put those tiny ass yellow foglights! Sorry bro they have to go...I do like the LED Drl's

  • hey im also looking for an air intake for my 08 g37s. do you have any recommendations?

    thanks.

    nice g btw

  • @kennyffx

I would recommend these, the Stillen Gen 3 Ultra Long Intakes for maximum airflow. The second best in my opinion would be the Injen Cold Air Intakes.

  • Hey what kind of rims are those?

  • @forspamhaha

Hi there, these are actually the stock 19 inch sport package rims. I had them powdercoated "Wet Black" for the smooth finish. This is not a painted rim because those always chip off. Powdercoating actually fuses the color into the rim permanently. I decided to do this because it was $600 to do all four rims, which is a lot more affordable than getting rims for $2000+. I may get legitimate rims like Volks or Vossen when I'm done with medical school.....haha.

  • Your G is sick....

  • @MikeTuanNguyen

    Cam on nhieu!!! Thanks!

  • @VietYa09 haha no problem man. Do you by a chance know what the diameter of the stock exhaust pipes are? I wanted to get a custom exhaust set up but i don't to waste money on a mere pipe replacement.

  • @MikeTuanNguyen

I actually dont know, but installed an HKS Hi Power Full Catback exhaust back in April and will be making the review for that soon, its just medical school is a killer to ur free time and hobbies. It sounds really nice, nice low tone, and great power. its usually $2500, but i got it for $1650 shipped, if you are interested, email me at LSNguyen88@gmail.com and i'll send you the link for that.

  • @VietYa09 Oh cool man! I recently read up on some breather mods and it appears that they can cause your engine to run lean. Does your engine run lean with the gen 3 and did you get a tune after your mods?

  • @MikeTuanNguyen

I did not tune my engine. But after the gen 3's were installed, my engine was definitely more lean and it was even more amazing with the HKS exhaust. for breather mods, i'm actually not sure what that is, can you give me a quick summary of what they are?

  • @MikeTuanNguyen

O haha, nvm i just realized breather mod is just air flow at the intakes isnt it haha.

  • @VietYa09 Yeah ahaha like exhaust and intakes, etc. What i meant by lean was that the engine takes in more air than it should making horsepower loss and damage to the engine. But from what you say everything seems to be in tip top shape haha.

  • Dude wash your engine.. looks hells dusty!!!!! Also, just adding an intake system without an exhaust system was a waste of money, as you need both to have the correct air ratio for entering and exiting the car.

  • @1warcquel

Actually sir/mam, I have already upgraded to an HKS Hi Power Full Catback exhaust system 2 week after this video was made. But due to my busy schedule as a medical student I have not been able to make the video for the exhaust yet. My car has very good air flow now with the exhaust and intake. Thanks for pointing out the obvious though. :)

  • well done on the mods you've done.. I work at an Infiniti dealership and usually I prefer straight stock but that headlight mod looks pretty good

  • Clean G37 man! How did you paint the front grill? What type of paint you use?

  • @alken84

Hey man, i just used a normal matte black finish for the grill, but i recently upgraded my G37 with a new custom grill. Hopefully i can shoot my next video of the exhaust soon....Medical school is killing me...

  • hey man, at what rmp range do you feel the power gain in?

  • @heribertoanibal

I feel the gains starting at around 2500-3000 rpm

  • hey i have a 2010 g37s coupe and im just curious how did you do you head and tail lights? im going with the gen 3 intake after seeing this video btw thanks for putting it up

  • @FlockaFlame69

Hey there, the tail lights i used a tint spray and taped off the shape i wanted, for the head lights i ordered a precut vinyl kit from blubatmobile guy, just google it. Hope this helps!

  • How much did you pay?

  • @HUNDUSSG35

I paid $550 FOR THE INTAKES

  • get a eibach drop!

  • Hey again... As far as acceleration and highway pick up, do you feel a difference from stock intake?

  • @drsnyp

Yes i feel a phenomenal difference compared to the stock intake for the car

  • @drsnyp i gotta ebay one for my cb7 and its just great!

  • Very tastefully done on the g! Can I ask where you got your 8000k hid lights at? I found some on eBay and was a little skeptical about it matching my stock bulbs... Are they difficult to switch out ... The other day I took a peak under the hood and couldnt find direct access to the lights.

  • HID's are from DDMTuning, just google it and its the first page. Its an H1 bulb. You can get 35w or 55w. The 55w is A LOT brighter but it tends to wash out the color and appear more whitish than the usual color while the 35w is the right color and your typical HID light output. 35 w is 35ish bucks 55w is 10 bucks more. With these you get a lifetime warranty with the product for free. I wouldnt get the ebay ones. And i would have a shop install it its VERY complicated for DIY

  • hey i have a 2011 g37xs, and i cant find those light overlays, do you no what site other than the one you mentioned to look at, or do u popssiible have a contact number where i can call and order them? thanks in advance!

  • @italiantl1

Do you have a coupe or sedan? I'm guessing sedan? And are you looking for the headlight or taillight overlays? Well google Rvinyl and its the first link, they should have your car and if not they offer custom vinyls which take a little longer because they dont have it ready to ship and have to manufacture it. I hope this helps, let me know if you are able to find it.

  • Looks great man; did you replace the daytime running bulb? I am replacing mine with an LED bulb and my projector lights with 10,000k bulbs and matching the fogs as well. I love the smoke out headlights and how you leave the projector and daytime running lights open. I may do the same.

  • @drsnyp

I did replace the DRL with an led from V-leds. I also have 8000k's running on both my low beams and my fogs to match as well, it looks great, but i did add additional fog lights at the bottom of the bumper with 3000K hids so that i'm not blind in the rain lol. as for the cut outs you can get them from bluebatmobile. Google bluebatmobile, its the first link check it out. Ask for really dark i'll look good and the cut outs are already cut for you. Mines dark cuz its two layers. GL!

  • You think stillen is overall better than injen for this car?

  • @drsnyp

I feel that this is the only part that gives u a good kick out of what you pay from Stillen. All the other Stillen parts tend to be overpriced for performance mods that are just slightly better than stock. I do like Injen, its a really good intake too. I just personally like the engineering of this Stillen intake better. And it gives a much more aggressive tone when you drive. Hope this helps

  • i have an 08 350z will these fit it to? by the way ur g is sick!

  • @moemaila

I believe so, i dont know if this exact one will fit but stillen does make the ultra longs for the 350 i believe, i just dont know if they're two different models or the same one. Thanx btw

  • Yea those 19's look nice with that coat. So I assume the carbon fiber trunk is to reduce weight ? Is the CF front lip and rear diffuser functional or more for looks ? And I guess Im showing Im a newbie to mods but does the k in your 3000 k HID projector stand for dollars or killowats ? I hope the latter.

  • @ddemantos

THe font lip and rear diffuser is purely for looks, i wanted a more aggressive look. As for the HID, the numbers with the K is the color temperature. 300 K is jdm yellow, 6000k is pure white, 8000 k is white with a hint of blue, 10000K is pure blue, 12000K is purple. I dont have a cf trunk but a spoiler but both would be for weight reduction. A cf hood would do the same.

  • I like the more aggressive sound with the tubes but the pitch of the stock engine has a pleasant groan. I can usually hear a z or g approaching before I see them. Im mostly interested in power gains and being more competetive with a 335i

  • I read on a site some guy took the splash guards off of his filters for even greater air flow. I dont think I would take that risk on my vq37 .

  • @ddemantos

I completely agree, not worth few extra horsepower.

  • dude sick ride. i have the same exact car except mine is in black and its all stock. im wonder how much those intakes and air filter and the total cost would be? and any other suggestions for looks?

  • Comment removed

  • @ariafreak I think the tubes are around 5 -6oo. If you have a mechanic install maybe another 200. Not bad considering a boost of cerca 20 HP. Check out the Stillen web site.

  • @ariafreak

Yea i got my air intakes for around 550 shipped. FOr my mods, i tinted my tail lights with a special spray on tint with the GTR design. I have a carbon fiber front lip, carbon fiber rear diffuser, and carbon fiber trunk. For my headlights i have custom projector HID fogs 3000k, my low beams and in housing fogs have 8000k HIDs. I also have a smoked overlay for the headlight too. Lastly my stock 19's are powdercoated wet black (not the cheap painting that people do)

  • @VietYa09 the thing is, i dont know if i want to spend that much on my car cuz its already sick. and for a black car, i dont wanna do the same thing as everyone else and black it out completely so im trying to figure out a new look for it that stands out. any suggestions?

  • @ariafreak

    check this site out autokitsx"dot"com/Infiniti-Parts.php

Replace the "dot" with a "."

  • Do you think a catback exhaust would be a good 2nd mod after the intake tubes ?

  • @ddemantos

Yes it is an necessary mod after the intakes. I'm planning to get the HKS Hi Power Full Catback exhaust in a few weeks. It will fully open up the constriction on the airflow due to the increased diameter of the exhaust piping. You should definitely get the exhaust afterwards.

  • @VietYa09 Is that an x configuration ? I read that the stock y exhaust is more restrictive due to configuration as well as diameter

  • @ddemantos

I would have to look at it, but yes configuration is very important too, the more turns an exhaust piping has, the more restriction.

  • Im considering the gen 3 intake for my 09 g37 s. My concern though, is that I live in an area of high rainfall and flood potential. Do you think the intake would make me significantly more suceptible to flooding the engine?

  • @ddemantos

Unless the flooding goes all the way up to your grill then i feel that you would be fine. I did say in the video that theres a splash guard that goes in front of the air filters. I live in Virginia, and its rainy season right now for us, and I've been completely fine on the heaviest of rain. I think that you would be ok getting these intakes. And trust me, they sound a lot better in real life compared to the video . I hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions.
