I love this vid. It's a great blend between funny and serious, with amazing timing to boot, which is practically impossible to find in YouTube vids these days, as most people mostly focus on the timing and special flashy effects (and I'll admit that I'm one of those people). With the addition of Bohemian Rhapsody, this has to be one the best of my favorite vids, if not the best at all, or of all time. Anyways, if all of my fingers were thumbs, 10 thumbs up to the original creater of this video.

What a perfect fit this song is for Evangelion. And the fact that this is a live performance only adds gravity to the whole thing, especially toward the end when everyone in the world becomes one. One of the best AMVs I have ever seen.

If you're referring to what you see in this video then that isn't a last episode. It's a follow-up film released a couple years after NGE itself called End of Evangelion that is a 2-episode film that is a replacement of episodes 25 and 26 of the TV show. It's fecking awesome.

Besides, "angels" not only sounds cooler, but drags up all the weird "angry god" connotations you already brought up.

If i had the talent and patients to make one of these amv's i would use Rammstein's Stein um Stein. I think that song would be a perfect metaphor for the series. Having Commander Ikari being the speaker and the 3 children the subject of the immuring. The grosse plane (big plans) being instrumentality and the house being the evas. in the song there is even a line about becoming one with the house and not being able to escape, which happens to Shinji in the eva. I think it would be perfect.
