For all 'Weekend World' fanatics who wondered where the theme tune came from. Brian Waldron was a political analyzer and commentator of the first water and could lecture ad lib a sno other on any historical/political subject.

The sleighride was no drug induced ride ! but it might as well of been!

mountain were singing about a boat ride you had to endure if you were the persons guilty of harpooning the whale from a small boat ,you never knew when the beast was gonna surface, hence the ride out you where to receive ,

Yea, the Nantucket Sleigh-ride was riding in the harpoon boats.

When I was a kid (too young for News programmes) I turned Weekend World on during a Sunday, listened to the theme tune, then turned it off again :)
