Actually, I lied. The west coast of Puerto Rico near Rincon has some excelent surf. Not like what is seen in this video however. Oh yeah, it does look like fun! I`m glad this and other H-3am videoes exist on youtube because as far as I know, all H-3am recordings are out of print. I`ve had the same poor luck finding Joe`s Rockabilly War on CD or even the Permanent Record sountrack.
Hi !!! Havana 3AM is the Name of the Band.... Havana 3 AM, Taking their name from an obscure Pérez Prado album, Havana 3 A.M. included former Clash bassist Paul Simonon, guitarist Gary Myrick (ex-Figures), and lead singer Nigel Dixon from Whirlwind. With Simonon aboard, there was built-in interest for their debut release, issued through IRS Records in spring 1991.
And lead Blending roots rock and punk, it received generally solid reviews and notched a minor radio hit with "Reach the Rock," and the band toured extensively promoting it. This song was part of the soundtrack of the first videos of the Billabong, the scenes of surf, good part is of the north shore ... aloha !!!
Ive seen big enought waves in Puerto Rico,to make you shit in your pants.Rincon is not the only beach in PR.You got Hobos and Isabela and a few other creveses in the north shore.Forget Luquillo, thats for the turist...Now you are right,Cuba is inconsistent, but I imagen a Hurrecain just of the east side of the Bahamas(or West of Fl.) with lite southern wind,a bit of a low tide and any thing can happen to that island in terms of waves.Ive seen some good ones, the caribbean basin has tendency for.
I can tell you first hand there is no surf like that in Cuba or anywhere else in the carribean. That coverage was most likely shot on the North shore of Oahu or Bells Au.

It's a brilliant album. Get it if you can find it. Great cover art, too.

does it have Simonon listed as drummer at the end? I'm pretty sure he's a bassist
