I was about 8 years old when my parents would come home from the "Beeline Lounge" in Glenpool Oklahoma and I can remember them talking about Ronnie Dunn and Gus Hardin playing there that night!
The last time I saw Gus she was singing this song at Uncle Bentley's. I'm glad I got to meet her before she died! I miss you Gus!
I drove from Fort Worth, Texas to Tulsa Oklahoma back in 1995 just to see and hear this lady sing...got to meet her, spend some time backstage, make pictures together, and attend a dinner party afterwards! I have an autographed T shirt in my closet Gus signed...as well as some record album covers! Loved this gal, she was a great lady! Still play her music today...
i'm a tulsa boy , got to jam with gus just before she headed to nashville , was working sound with a band that was under consideration of being her road band when she recorded her 1st album , didn't work out though , didnt' know she has passed , moved to south carolina shortly after that, RIP gus, you were 1 of kind both your personality and your talent , the world will miss you
I actually produced an album on this girl, from Tulsa, and two other guys -- when she was the singer in a band called "Triple X"
I recorded Gus and Triple X, in the Spring & Summer '1969 -- at 'Sounds of Memphis" studio, on Camilla Street, which was the temporary studio while The Rayner Street studio was being completed.
I have searched for gus hardin's music for years now, I grew up loving everything she did. There is a video to this song I use to have on video, lost the video while moving. If anyone could find that and post it, I am sure many would appreciate it.

can anyone tell me what happened to Gus? I was introduced to her in the late 80" and fell in love instantly?

@1968ALB Sadly, Gus was killed in a head-on collision in 1996.

I just checked Whitburn and it says she had four singles in the Top 40 Country Singles.

@LonestarJR34 Check your book again. One of those singles was a DUET with Earl Thomas Conley. My comment specifically said "three SOLO singles".

One of my favorite Gus songs, I remember the vidoe vividly, what an amazing song and video, she was ahead of her time.

I was one of the promoters on this song back in the mid 80's.. Sadly, Gus didn't really receive the attention that she deserved.

i loved Gus's music...I was in country radio from 1983-1986 when she was charting singles..This was when all females in country didn't sound the same.
I'd love to see BMG release Gus's music on CD....
