Dont listen to a lowlife like grindalss people like him have no heart. they feed on those with emotion. Leonard Cohen is the most beautifull poet that ever lived. anybody that pays tribute to him the way you have, has a special place in life. stay pure.
I think she may just have been too much hyper-aware of how often (Often! Often!) she obviously looked at the score sheet. That makes it all, at least slightly, silly, in the musician's eyes. And, of course the Leonard-speed-up-for-halftime in the middle is way silly. Thus the title she chose, I expect.
Otherwise, good gears on her, another nice version.
The green guitar she plays isn't even potentially silly, BTW. ANY green guitar totally rules.
Cheers for this, it's a song that makes my blood run cold everytime I hear it, and the tempo changes were a lovely bit of making it yours. The tempo change makes it seem even more bittersweet, a light touch makes the medicine go down. Hope to see some more from you soon.
Always nice to see a Cohen cover that <i>isn't</i> Hallelujah. Your tempo changes threw me off but not so much that I didn't enjoy it. The last line is my favorite in the song, I wasn't a fan of how you did it. I would have prefered to hear it just straight.
It's always cool to hear women sing Cohen's stuff--
like Judy Collins' take on "Suzanne." I guess Leonard himself must agree; that's probably why he's used female vocals so often in his recordings (especially recently). Anyway, nice cover--and I like your guitar.
Also, I respectfully request "Diamonds in the Mine."
