I believe it helps so they don't get dizzy. Next time you spin around in circles, try focusing on 1 thing and try to maintain that 1 thing in your direct line of sight the whole time. It helps to maintain balance, at least in my opinion it does
Focusing your eyes on something while spinning does help you keep your balance. It's called spotting, and ballet dancers and ice skaters use it all the time. It is very hard for a younger dancer to do more than two or three turns without spotting.
I started at minecraft. Then to ROBLOX Then to TF2 Then to a few ponies(Don't ask) then back to TF2 Then to elektro medic To elektric anything Windows elektric then to piano elektric Then ode to joy Now this.....The magic of youtube. (Looks at TF2 vid related....)
I've always enjoyed this piece. The odd changes are going to cause me to think about this a bit more. The athleticism is strong, but the artistic interpretation is rather lacking. Mostly good thoughts here, but my not so good thoughts are probably because I really don't appreciate anyone messing around with what was originally, perfection.
These male "danseurs" clearly have extensive ballet training, professionals no doubt. Thus, the Ukranians who claim these moves as their own, I object and argue, the ballet dancers here have made these THEIRS.
If the dancers would have more nuances and a style of ordinary well running everyday life i.e. kind of complex with many sides with changing nuances instead of one schooled form, then I think that people would not be so alienated from dance, they would kind of find the same positive things from their own dayly life and find a natural expression for them in dance.
@FiddlerAdam They are playing through the music two times. The first is at a good clip and the second time is to demonstrate the skill of the dancers, and then it speeds up. I've never seen the music for this piece, but it's pretty loud (f) and fast (accelo) most of the time. I think Tchaikovsky would truly enjoy this interpretation given the expert choreography and the very talented performers. What a treat!
