Thanks for this! I am also a great fan of this book and read it avidly every year! Isn't it amazing how this creation of Ken Grimwood's just hooks you in and never lets you go!
I picked this book up in 1988. I am reading it now for the 5th time. i wait just long enough that I've forgotten some of the details...then read it again. It is one of my all time favorites.
just read this for the first time. plowed through it all today. been a while since i did that. great book that i'll think about for some time to come.
I've finally located and bought a copy of Two plus Two which now completes my Ken Grimwood collection. Replay and Into the Deep are easy to locate online but the other four took a lot of hunting - and money to buy, but well worth it. I say to people, if you like sci-fi, you'll love Ken Grimwood.
Time doesn't exist, its a perception. Time is a result of gravity, or particles of matter at velocity, the more gravity the slower the time, time is an effect nothing more. One as an observer or outsider can see this effect with the theory of Einstein, its not a dimension, more of an attracting reaction. The only time that does exist is the time of now, this second, this moment, you reading these words, this is time, your time and how you act in the now is all that you need to know.
Funny thing about the subject of Time. You really don't have enough time to really get the ultimate meaning of it. Time does everything but stop; it is the most peculiar movement experienced in Nature. We humans only experience it at a given pace... a chain of seasons, a number of sunsets and dawns... as we fade away. Until we harness Immortality, or Time becomes a material we can mold or bottle; it presents a condition on our limits. A beautiful ugly thing in Nature.
I've read this book 4 times over the past 15 years - I've even bought copies to give away for others to read. It should be made into a film. Its on my top 10 list.
nice work. I'm a sucker for time travel and grimwood's Replay is awesome. My favorite 3 time travel books are Replay-Ken Grimwood, Faces in Time-Lewis Aleman, and The Time Machine-HG Wells.
Well Done !!! thank you for doing such a great job on this video tribute...Replay is my favorite book of all time as well.I even used this video on face book to tell others of this great book,Jeff Winston is truly all of us...well those who are brave enough to question their own exsistence and replays here on this Earth.I even went as far as learning CRV Remote Viewing in my quest to understand time and what we are capable of.
* Thank You for sharing this with us. Ken Grimwood's REPLAY is my favorite book along with Oscar Wilde's THE PICTURE OF DORIAN GRAY ! Fantastic work : ) _
Nice audio summary. I too love this book and have an original first edition. It's probably my most favored book. I wish I could read the unfinished sequel, but it may never happen. I like to fantasize that Grimwood is now young again and writing out the sequel in his own replay.
Thank you for your comment and I can only hope Warner Bros doesn't screw it up. I spent last year writing a sequel-Tell Milo I liked him in Rocky Balboa!
It is a great book, I had a old roommate turn me onto this book years ago, I too, read it in one sitting, could not put it down! I am saddened the author passed away. I wish it would be made into a movie.
I read an interview with a Director who was a big fan of the book and wanted to make it into a movie. He went to a studio meeting and walked out because he said they had the rights and were making ridiculous changes to the story-That is so disturbing especially since the book is so great.
I don't see why there would be a need for any changes.....? The story has enough action and suspence, and its not like its an x rated movie, so I don't know what the heck is hollywood's problem? It's too bad.
I discovered a paperback copy of Replay at a garage sale in the early 90's. First book I read cover to cover in a single sitting (finished sometime around 4am).
Since then, I've purchased several copies for friends, and I've found my own first printing hardback copy (if only it were signed).
I contemplate a movie adaptation on occasion, only to convince myself that it wouldn't hold up to the book I love and cherish. Besides, it'd be unfairly compared to Groundhog Day.
wonderful... I read this book in 1990 when I was 12... I started some friday night, and I couldn`t stop anymore...I finished it two days later.... and you know what?...nobody knows at my home how that book did arrive there.... so strange... and one day, that book just dissappear... bye you all!....Im Lucas, from Buenos Aires, Argentina.
I was driving in my car listening to a review of Replay on Chicago Public Radio a few weeks ago, and I just had to find this book. I live near a Half Price Books and today I found a copy printed in 1987. I began reading the first chapter while standing in the checkout line and I haven't been able to put it down yet.
I look forward to enjoying this book that I've heard so much about...
This is my favourite book of all time, I read it at least once a year, and appreciate different parts each time.
It's the most satisfying read anybody could have, reaching all parts of the soul.
I loved your tribute, although I don't think Jeff had an ongoing 'affair' but that he met the love of his life.
I am also glad that he didn't write a Replay 2, why try to perfect perfection? George Lucas could tell us that, ask any Star Wars fan, if it ain't broken, don't fix it.
You are right this book is gold
