The difference in sound is due purely to the fact that, this song is played with Tom Morello's guitar originally which is a Stratocaster, the guitarist is using a les paul here, so it would be nearly impossible to get the same sound when a les paul has two double pickups, and strat has 3 single pickups.

he plays the song nearly as good as morello, which isnt hard because the song song is pretty easy. besides, he uses the same effects on the solo, and tom is one of the most original guitarists, though not the most technical, which isnt bad because the music should be on focus. and as far as I heard by watching the first time, this guitarist simply doesnt use the tremolo effect from the original. and tom is far away from using LOADS of effecs, there are guys who use much more.

Dude, I don't want to bust your balls, but carry on is a great album. The eclectic nature of the album says a lot about an individual who is growing as a person and as an artist. If an artist is to stay the same throughout their career, than we would have not had great works such as John Lennon's Imagine vs. the White album or Eric Clapton's solo career vs. Cream.
