I think you played it fairly nicely, but it was lacking some feel, and volume... When JB plays it you notice the emotion and feeling going into how he plays, and massive deviations in volume that put emphasis on certain parts of the song which help give it that progressive feel and massive build up towards the awesome bit (if you dont know what im referring to GTFO). I think you play it a lot better than I can, but the passion just wasn't there, or if it was it didn't flow through your guitar.

p.s.. lose the high G string.. i hate that whiny fuckin string lol and so does JB, hence why he loses it tooo.. i suggest getting a higher guage to compensate cause you do lose a fair bit of tone dropping the high g string but with a heavy string it makes up for it :)
