Are you rooting 2.2 froyo? i am running froyo and would like to root it. and was wondering if you rooted 2.1 or 2.2 in this video. i have never rooted so i was just curious if it matters what OS you are running on your phone. Thanx!

@ILB769 That's a great question. At the time of this video I was running Froyo 2.2. I don't know if this will work with any other version but I do think it matters because I have updated the phone to 2.3 and this rooting method did not work when I tried it again. It did not harm my phone, I just had to find another way and I think I have a video on rooting the 2.3 Gingerbread version. Thanks for watching and let us know if this works out!

@mjmpgh86 you should check out vimeo music. They now have music that is free to use or you can but the licensing for really cheap. It's great to use in video projects and easy to navigate, sort, and download.

@khayree222 Yes this is for 2.2. What folders are you talking about? Can you post the time code on the video so I can see it? Did you mean @ 02:10 ? when I unpacked the files? You don't have to do it that way, you can just create a folder on your desktop and name it anything. Then drag and drop all the files from the zipped file to the folder you created on your desktop. You can't run the files from the zip folder.

instead it didnt work with either one, and when i download super one click (i used the last link on the page you provided and everytime i opened it to root the phone a black screen pop up, then i decided to download the first link and that one worked but it stood on the process of starting ADB

uhm this didnt work for me, im new to this whole rooting thing, and im not sure what i did wrong. i have the "superuser" app and everything but all the root apps i download say im not rooted, and even a "root checker" says im not. i could be making a simple mistake but help would be appreciated, please!!

@monkeysage58 check out my other video on how to get wifi tethering. that program will ask for super user permission. If that works and you can do tethering then the phone is rooted. Let me know if that works. Thanks for watching!

@heatman2020 There is another method for updating the vibrant to 2.2 and it involves using a flashing program called Kies. Check out a website called theunlockr and go to the how-to advance section. There you will find your phone and you can upgrade to froyo 2.2

@johnnythegeek1 Oh yeah sorry I was reading a different question. I have not tried rooting a vibrant with 2.2 froyo but I know that it did work on 2.1 vibrant. But I don't think the version would matter. Always backup your info before doing any mods to your device. If you try it, then please leave a comment if it works or not. Thanks.

@heatman2020 I read up on theunlockr website and it looks like there is a separate super one click root for the vibrant and people have tried to use it on 2.2 but with no success. The method I am using worked and I was on 2.2 I guess the latest version of super one click worked. Also, I did not lose any info after rooting it. If it were me personally, I would root it

@heatman2020 In Application Settings choose USB settings then choose Mass Storage. When you plug in your phone you will see two storages devices kind of like thumb dives. Copy everything from both drives.
