  • Nice engine but swinging both ways just isn't my style :p

  • They use to call the V8 Cat the Ground Shaker!

  • 3408s were crankbusters.

  • Awsome v8 cat!

  • One sweet pete !

  • i will boycott cat products until they stop selling bulldozers to Israel that are used to destroy Palestinian homes; caterpillar knows that there products will used for this criminal purpose, but they don't care. don't buy cat stock or products. thanks.

  • @roaringwaterbay ok well the us goverment gave them to israel hmm cat sold them to the us us sold them to israel and who care about whats going on outside of the us maybe you forget what this video is about showing you a nice truck not that crap your talkin about...GOOD DAY SIR

  • @BuBoNiCcHrOnIc91 Some people are just stuck on stupid buddy..you'll have to forgive idiots who forget why these videos are down loaded for...

  • Nice looking truck.. the cab's about a 1983'ish 359, if the cab steps are original, and I'd say the bunk came off a pre '93 379. All the 63 inch bunks on the 359's had a full length passenger side door.

  • 359

  • oh thanks you found my truck, if you could send it back to me i would really appreciate it. ;)

  • anyone know where i can get aholdof one of those engines

  • what a nice looking truck!

  • 565hp or 1000hp

  • I work on heavy equipment and that is the same engine that is in the CAT 988...thats sweet :D

  • You know how great this would sound if this was an N/A motor with dual long tube headers?

  • Greeeeeat Stuff ! Thanks for Sharing

  • 3408 is my favorite CAT engine

  • caterpillars are the shit

  • V8 Diesel is the only engine that should be installed in trucks. I drive V8 Scania.

  • a 3408 maybe or bigger

  • very sharp petey,indeed

  • too much chrome on that model

  • The real test is if you can jump 30 school buses.

  • pete 379 oder 359?

  • @avalancheno1 I couldn't tell ya

  • @StillenGtr17 359 look at the placement of the wipers V8 Cats were only available in pre 85 models the 379 was not made until 1987

  • @avalancheno1 359

  • @avalancheno1 359

  • @avalancheno1 359. The Interior was the dead giveaway

  • @avalancheno1 359 look at the corvette dash

  • @avalancheno1 359

  • @avalancheno1 later 359 or early 379 my pops has a 86 359 and i have a 88 379 and they both have the same dash

  • @TheJordanGraff

no they didn't, not by a long shot. at least not factory done.

  • @The351441 they both have factory dashes as theyve both been in the family since new and yeah theyre the same style and look except my dash weighs about 20 pounds less cause its made out of plastic

  • @avalancheno1 359

  • @avalancheno1 thats a 359. easiest way to tell is the black part on the air cleaner

  • @Drewsky840 I always felt the "corvette dash" (looked like the dash of the C1 and C2 versions of the corvette) was the big give away. I think the cut off year for the 359 was 1987. The earliest 379 (as a exhd OTR truck)I remember seeing was 1987, so they must have built them both that year. The early 379's had a squared off rectangle dash. They switched to the rounded off oval shape dash in the early 2000's.

  • @avalancheno1 Peterbilt 379's replaced the 359's but I'm not sure what year the 379's were introduced.

  • @avalancheno1 359 has the air cleaners going through the panel in the side of the hood. 379 has cab mtd air cleaners. The Corvette dash is the classic trademark of the 359. 359 sleepers are different as well, have full door on the curbside.

  • should of left the engine cat yellow

  • That's the most beatiful sight I ever seen

  • cat power. there is no subsitute for the best.. period.

  • very nicely done, lots and lots of money and time went into this truck.. one of the nicest i have ever seen.. glad the 359 was the choice.. very well done

  • Danm that's a beautiful truck

  • Damn....this is better than Viagra

  • i bet the torque from this thing is amazing.

  • excuse me while i go grab another pair of shorts, jesus thats beautiful

  • 1985 was the last year it came in a pete I have the last one sold out of the old Motor City Peterbilt in a 359

  • did u post some video of it running on here

  • How big is this engine, how meny liters?

  • I couldn't tell ya you might ask HilBil91

  • haha

  • 18 liters

  • @theunknown2142 18 liters

  • @theunknown2142 18 liters u think

  • @theunknown2142 its an 18 liter motor

  • @200xboy01 18 Liter? I don't think so...the most powerful truck engine is the 16 Liter V8 Scania 730 HP engine!

  • @crocket1971 it can be 18 liter but if the engine have more mods and tecnology it dont matter the displacement have you ever heard about power ratio?

  • @crocket1971 That is the most powerful current motor. This 3408 is not a current motor.

  • @200xboy01

    1,099 cubic inches.

  • @theunknown2142 1,190 cu. inches or about 19.4 liters

  • @theunknown2142 1190 cubic inches....aprox 19.3 liters....somewhere between 575 and 800 hp depending on fuel settings and turbo.

  • @theunknown2142 , just over 10, but metrics are for europs..

  • @NP535overdrive Yeah I know' unfortunately I'm on the wrong side of the big pond

  • @theunknown2142 It's about 19 liters.

  • Awesome Pete` very sweet rig

  • OH MY!!!

  • This truck is a 359 witch makes it an 87 or older truck that may have come factory with the 3408. All that aside what a beautiful truck hats of to that guy

  • Not many trucks come with factory V8's anymore do they.

  • Maybe not in USA but in europe we got Scania V8 , Mercedes V8 MAN V8 engines . The Scania one sounds awesome whit some exhaust mods .

  • Only in europe.

  • @StillenGtr17 NO!!!!!! =C

  • @StillenGtr17 No large American trucks do anymore. European models like Scania and Mercedes are commonly powered by V-8's and most of those are cab-over designs.

  • @StillenGtr17 they should

  • @StillenGtr17 dont build v8 diesels for the big rigs no more its all straight 6 power now..

  • @StillenGtr17 none in america

  • @StillenGtr17 No. Especially in the USA where the tandem drive axles are more prevelant. The problem is the width of a V-8 which does not allow the crankshaft to sit down low enough betweem the 34-inch wide frame rails. By having the crankshaft sitting high in the frame rails the drive-line angles to the tandem axle are difficult to align. No problem with a single drive axle, but more difficult with a tandem drive.

  • @StillenGtr17 Scania,MAN and Mercedes

  • depends i think that mack ans scania are the only ones that have factory v8s these days

  • macks dont do v8 anymore because their owned by volvo

  • @DAF460 Plus they couldn't keep up with emissions... Fucking EPA

  • @Hotrodx199 actually the epa shut them down temporarily because of the clean air verbage requiring egr, Cat acert system is really clean and effectually does egr duty with precoolers etc., they'll be back 2011 :) More reliable than Cummins egr ISX for sure.

  • @Hotrodx199 im with ya epa sucks

  • we need to hear the sound of that kitty cat purring!

  • I know I wish the owner would've started it up for all to hear, but I guess he didn't want to take all the glory from the other trucks.

  • VERY NICELY DONE... CAT POWER

  • Pete 359's the best trucks Peterbilt made old and new skool combined.

  • Do these trucks come stock with V8's or do you have to swap some engines.

  • Most of them have 3406 inline engines or an inline cummins, but some of them did come with the 3408 V8's there hard to find though. Total powerhouses can't beat a V8
