  • Very Nice! Thank you for Sharing!!!!!

  • that is some awesome footage.i want those cars!

  • Yes, this video was made from two real photo postcards.

  • If these are from postcards, excellent detail! Thanks for posting, the closeups are very interesting.

  • Wonderglory, I read your post and had to say something. When I was in high school I woked at Manning's Cafeteria on Market St. (acorss form Woolworth's). Later I worked at New Joe's Restaurant on Broadway (not far from Finocchio's), then went to Julius Caslte Restaurant on Telegraph Hill. All these places are now gone. I love Norht Beach. And thank you ciendanin10 por posting. This image and posts really take me back.

  • The Owl Drug Company location there would later become a Woolworth. That store location had a lunch counter on the main level. In the basement, there was a connection to the Powell Street station. I miss shopping at Woolworth.

  • @wonderglory:----Oh gosh, your memories of Woolworth are mine too.. I lived in San Francisco from 1973 to 1994 Oh my gosh..I used to go in to Woolworth all the time.. LOVED the lunch counter and the whole store in general. Don't know if you remember this place, but I worked at Finocchio's on Broadway for 9 years!!!!

  • Of course, I remember Finocchio's.

  • @rturnerful Didn't Enrico Banducci own Finocchio's? I know he owned The hungry i (intentionally not capitalized as it wasn't).

  • This was very enjoyable. Worthy of Ken Burns.
