You don't have to have the title of Rex (or at least accept it) to be one, and it's obvious the Senate felt the same way. Though this is clearly one of the greatest debates concerning antiquity and you're certainly allowed to hold the opinion that he wasn't!

Maybe he wanted to become something like a king, but he didn't manage it (Octavian did it). He was a general with a great influence, but you can't say he was a king. I was actually pretty impressed at the agility Pitt showed in this whole movie. That guy is nearly 7 feet tall, a total fricking beast, and fightwise did everything right and still got pwned.
