  • GREAT song.. I wish The Iveys could've recorded this in like in 1963-1965 It would've done SO good. it was just too outdated for some fans in 1968

  • They look like their having so much fun here. Man, I love these guys.

  • these guys were geniuses ... simply like that ... . I'd only heard three or four of their songs ... but their creative sense had no limit ... I've cried listening 'em ... they didn't deserve such a fate.

  • what a beautiful song for me..

  • ...le nostre belle canzoni di un tempo!!!!

  • Simply Beautiful rip Pete and little Tommy

  • Magic song.

  • Badfinger is ten times, no, not even ten times, a BILLION times better than today's crap.

    Badfinger FTW!!!!

  • The drummer looks like Jesse Eisenberg.

  • R.I.P. Pete Ham R.I.P. Tom Evans

  • @mellomoreira And R.I.P Mike Gibbins

  • @Linnung yeah, i forgot him, my fault

  • @mellomoreira And what about Mike?

  • @Corrol132 we miss him too

  • Os caras eram muito bons!!! nossa que afinação foda! muuuuito bom o som dos caras!

  • Holy fuck this is like the song (Listen to the) Flower People from Spinal Tap! Jesus Christ I wish I'd never heard this, I lost a lot of respect for Badfinger at this moment. And I had very little to begin with. No wonder they all tried to kill themselves.

  • @alexwinter666 Please don't say things like that about Badfinger, this sounds nothing like the flower people, I've seen the movie a million times. It's alright if you don't like the song but you don't have to go as far as to mock their suicides.

  • @alexwinter666

    youre a douche.

  • @alexwinter666 Lol what an idiotic comment, Lol saying THIS song sounds like a song that came out 2 - 2 1/2 decades later! this guy has to be joking, so I'll cut him some slack, just as I would ANY mentally incompitent person! :) you go have a nice day now!

  • Apologies for this comment. I have been struggling with alcohol problems and I believe I made this comment under the influence. I'm still not a fan of this song but Badfinger was a great band.

  • The Beatles Anthology brought me here

  • @mrgf14 Same here. A pity they don't play this more often in the radio. It's a great song!

  • This tune has better vocals than anything the Beatles ever did,and I am a Beatle fan.

  • @DanDelvis that's a stretch

  • Too many Suicides in Badfinger.

  • Y cuando todavia no se llamaban Badfinger si no Iveys con el sello Apple de Beatles sonaban con esta rola buen recuerdo para esta banda..

  • ...MERAVIGLIOSA !!!...GRANDI BADFINGER !!!!!!...

  • pete has voice of an angel, not tom

  • Tommy Evans had the voice of an angel.

  • Tommy was beautiful!

  • thumbs up for Ron

  • What a beautiful song...

  • Song of my week! Depresses me... But it also gives me a "Oh well" attitude. Hmmm

  • One morning I was awoken by a beautiful sound and it was this song

  • 4 years with 0 dislikes!!!! thumbs up if you are glad with this!!!!

  • such a great band luv always

  • I love how big their ties are.

  • it's buffalo bill the bassist.

  • They looked so happy here. What a tragic future awaited them. They deserved so much better.

  • I love you Badfinger.

  • fantastic

  • Great song, great lyrics and great feeling it`s all there, what a group.I agree incredibly underated.

  • they kinda look like beatles but it is a cool song

  • Love Pete's voice on this record.

  • merci pour ce beau titre

  • All the bands in the 60's and 70's looked up to the Beatles, the most original, prolific and talented rock band of the era...so they emulate them except the Stones.

  • Stan Polley was a crook. Burn in hell you mother!

  • RIP Pete Ham

  • I'm sorry, but what's the point of playing guitar if you can't hear it?

  • @pluggedteddy I think they're lip synching in this one

  • @fenderstratguy I don't think you got what I meant right: they're playing guitar but you can't hear any guitar in the mix once the strings come in, that's just awful.

  • I am related to the drummer, Michael Gibbins,( half first cousin once removed ) but I didn't know until a few months before he died :( They were really great, and I wish they had had more success in Britain.

  • @mrsjamac ...I'm Mike first cousin Kevin Gibbins......drop me a line

  • This song is Fab,its one of those that stop me dead in my tracks, thankyou for sharing it

  • wow...what a sweet great song.

  • whats the bass player doing at 1:45?

  • the beatles created this band

  • @ckycrew416 They looked liked the Beatles because they are closely associated with the Beatles, the first group that was signed by Apple Records and managed, controlled by the selfish Allen Klein who did not release their album in the UK and US. It is very popular in Italy and Asia esp in Japan because it was only released there. They could have been as popular as the Beatles.

  • @echoNpapa They were a great band, but there is no way they or anyone else will be as popular as the Beatles

  • @echoNpapa Whoa saying they could have rivaled the beatles is bs and Im a badfinger fan

  • @echoNpapa they dident release it there because maybe tommorow wasn't a hit there

  • @ckycrew416 they developed their own style, with time

  • @ckycrew416 They looked like the Beatles because everyone looked like the Beatles back then...

  • @ckycrew416

EVERYONE (except Tiny Tim) looked liked the Beatles at the time! Definitely a lot of unique substance within the vast and wonderful Badfinger collection.

And this tune should've been huge.

  • @ckycrew416 Hey...we ALL looked like that in those days....just the fashion. :)

  • @ckycrew416 Actually Paul McCartney demanded they wear the suits for this promo film and for the promotional pics. Read the incredible book for more info. Its called Without You: The Tragic Story Of Badfinger by Dan Matovina. All kinds of details on The Iveys and Badfinger

  • Such a sweet song!

  • The recording industry insured the death of the Ivey's aka Badfinger. They raped them and took their souls, and they had no other way out then to do themselves in. God bless Badfinger.

  • This is possibly the most underrated pop classic of all time...

For me as great as the "Badfinger" years were, the first album as the Iveys was more melodic and Ron Griffiths was a much better bassist than Tom Evans who switched from guitar after Joey Molland joined.

The song itself is beautifully written and sung by Tom Evans, with harmony from Pete Ham.

Wonderfully produced and arranged by Tony Visconti, this should have been a monster hit...It wasn't. A true injustice...

  • Well i like the music, but they look freaking weird.:P

  • @modernway91 their hair is

  • @ckycrew416 not only that, the drummer is pretty small, has a weird technique. The electric guitar guy is pretty big, and the bass and other guy are pretty small. Its just wtf

  • @modernway91 yeah when i first seen them i thought it was just like an act or something of them making fun of the beatles

  • @modernway91 i think they look pretty good actually. their hair looks cool. got a problem with that? o.o

  • very good song

  • It looks to me like Pete Ham was having a lot more fun making music before Stan Polley got a hold of the band and ruined absolutely everything for them, you'll rarely see Pete smile in the later Badfinger videos. Stan Polley could not have had a conscience. The Badfinger story just makes me heartsick.

Too often evil seeks out and preys on the innocent.

  • bassist slapping his bass with a drum stick!

  • I agree.. a great band... but they don't have their deserved place in the history of rock.. as the Beatles, Monkees, Beach boys...

  • @esais64 just the beatles and the beach boys....

  • this is on beatles anthology 7

  • @lster97 the beatles signed them with apple

  • I need lyrics please..anyone? Thank you..

  • nobs

  • am i right in thinking that when they changed to badfinger the lead singer changed to bass? if so, what happened to the bass player?

  • @NikDonaghy23 There were LOADS of personnel changes. Look 'em up on Wikipedia.

  • how old where they when they made this

  • preciosa cancion!! me encanta!

  • i bet pete ham was pissed when he saw the video and how tom goofed the first line. he is such a babe, wow

  • They seem to be having a good time making this film. Sad how things turned out for them in the end. RIP Badfinger.

  • @SuperYantz Badfinger will live forever, unless we stop listening to their wonderful songs.

  • I've been beginning to listen to Badfinger since I first heard about them about 2 days ago. And I gotta say they have changed the way I listen to a lot music, recently. I really love their music and I was bummed out when I realized Pete and Tom commited suicide. I'm just somehow thankful for these guys for creating such beautiful classic rock music. And I'm glad I am now a fan of theirs.

  • BF was a very good pop band

  • It's sad that most kids today have heard of bands like The Eagles, The Stones, The Who, Led Zeppelin and others, yet Badfinger is still the best kept secret (except maybe other than The MC5) in music. Those who do know of them only comment on 'what could've been...'. Perhaps we should just focus on what they DID! Amazing music!

  • amazing video from Apple Corps

  • WOW rip PETE & LITTLE TOMMY

  • 1:44 Jimmy Page stole this move!

  • PERFECT

  • So glad i found this song so beautiful.

  • Badfinger Awesome!

  • Making Swansea roud...as ever!

  • Making Swansea Proud...as ever...!

  • I have said it for years!!!!

The most underated band of all time!!!!

    BADFINGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • damn strait

  • @bluegrassreb i like badfinger but the most underrated band is The Band

  • @kride22 How underrated can be The Band be if they're in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? Yeah, like Mickey Mantle is underrated (but he's in the Hall of Fame, too).

  • @bluegrassreb the best band ever is the beatles , the ones who find this band , but i like this music.

  • This tears me up. I am utterly haunted by this band to the point where it sometimes hurts, but I love them so much that I would prefer suffering than living without their music in my life.

  • Very well said.

  • I'd suffer , too, without music.

Cool that you love Badfinger...they are awesome!

  • 2:13 - 2:18 always brings me tears. It's so tragic what happened to Pete and Tom. R.I.P. Mike as well.

  • what electric guitar was tom useing at this point in time 1968/69 before the moved to bass?

  • Love ya, Ron Griffiths.

  • So awesome, it hurts

  • I believe the Iveys could've been as big as The Beatles.

I know they could've been as good as them just like "The Beatles 1970's generation". The Iveys messed up though, throughout the 1970's or so? I don't know much about them, I wish I was their producer/manager of them so I could save them from messing up, but there's nothing I could do...

  • Hard to beleive there is only 1 original member left from Badfinger...

  • Man alive Tom Evan's had a high voice! Great pop song. I'm familiar with it from their Magic Christian Music LP. Was it a big hit over in the UK?

  • great share LVEMEDO as always...i love badfinger with their very familiar sound if u know what i mean..lol very sad story though for this great band from the sixties and seventies

  • there used to be another promo on here for this song which had them out on the outside I think - cant find it now

  • One of the top songs and records ever recorded. I wish Ray Davies would have ended up producing them My original 45 on Apple under the name of the Ivey's is one of my treasured 45's with my kinks singles kollection.

  • god bless you Pete, RIP!!!

  • In a little way, they remind me of the band that made them famous, The Beatles.

  • what did i miss? how come your previous comment was removed?

  • i guess the bleeding heart beatles fans must have negative pointed me to the point that my comment dissapeared. but if you hit reply u will see it. all i was trying to say was that the beatles had so much and could have done more to save this band...but they didn't. they died broke. it was pocket change for apple to pull their sorry asses back to fame and fortune. but they didn't. why? I think they saw too much potential and hence...possibility that badfinger would get to big for their britches?

  • ah i got it(i mean after this reply ... not the first one that ppl thumbed down, was kinda too short and lack of explanation so ppl didn't know what u were trying to say i guess) i agree that The Beatles could have done something to save these poor boys but for some reason it didn't happen...i wish that Tom didn't have to follow the same tragic as what happened to Pete...anyway they'll still forever live in our hearts and will never be forgotten you know that !

  • I don't think it was a matter of rivalry but simple apathy. I think the members of the Beatles saw their own careers in a state of chaos and really weren't in tune with much else. However,I think those around Pete Ham did not see the desperation that poor man was in..somehow I don't think it was simply that his money had disappeared ..I think he was becoming dissolutioned with working with the likes of Joey Molland and the animosity that created with himself and Tom Evans.

  • beautiful song!

i always loved this group as the iveys and badfinger!

very sad ending for the band!

such a great group of guys!

    so very sad!

  • @ediann its a real shame tho they could have been huge

  • Buena cancion jaja sin olvidar que los beatles estuvieron o tuvieron que ver por ahi :P

  • This is one of my favorite songs by them!

  • Love you forever for posting this one!

  • Just a sign of great things to come from the super group that would become Badfinger!
