  • ID BUY THAT FOR A DOLLAR!

  • LOL at the prize: Brand new VCR

  • god i hope this is the future of entertainment tv

  • I believe this game was partly inspired by the 1987 film "The Running Man" to some degree.

  • just when you think you have some skills, this game takes a steamy dump on your face, then ya say may i have another

  • You won't believe me when I say this, but this is set within the Mortal Kombat universe. I'm not joking I saw it on the MK wiki.

  • GRWAAAR! NO WAY!!

  • The announcer's eyes in this version give me nightmares.

  • Mutoid Man is one tough mother.

  • "Sleek 1999 roadster"

  • For once the Genesis version has better music than SNES!

  • because I played this so well back then I am balls good at dead ops arcade on call of duty black ops

  • This game is fucking HARD! I love it!

  • this is wrong, you cant walk into a new screen and then walk out again!

  • i remember playing this on my xbox with the dual stick controls fuking rape :D

  • This game would be great on the iPhone/PSP

  • Have you got transparent fingers?

  • Nope, but I'm very talented. Add that to accelerometer controls and you've got yourself a game!

  • I used to love to play this game on my cousin's SNES in Switzerland. What year is this game from? love the music it's so cool!

  • 1990. =)

  • cool tks, my cousin's snes was a different style. How come the snes looks different in europe then it does here in Canada or the US and the games in europe for the snes are curved abit while ours are straight.

  • Thats because we had a different TV system, PAL, which had bigger resolution but only run at 50hz. So our games had black borders on top and bottom and ran slower then yours (unless properly converted, like DKC). Our SNES desing mimics the japanese one, down to the button coloring. I have no clue why yours is like it is, I find it a bit ugly and bland, but that's probably because I grew up with mine. =) Got to wikipedia to learn all about the SNES.

  • lol this takes me back, used to play this with a buddy, trying to get the most prizes at the end.

the phrase 'big money, big prizes' still takes me back

  • i love this game!

  • Hardest level 1 boss ever?

I suggest you fire up the arcade version of Total Carnage sometime. That game's first boss is basically Mutoid Man & Scarface combined, with the added ability to fire bullets like a Touhou boss.

  • i remember playing this with my dad.

    he always lost though.

  • I really wish they would remake this for the wii, I use to play this for hours when I was a kid. A 4 player version would be bad ass.

  • i'd buy that for a dolla ! !

  • Isn't the SNES version called "Super Smash TV" as it had more stuff in it than the arcade version?

  • Yes and No. It was released as Super Smash TV, but has no extra features as far as I recall.

  • It was different though, the second level onwards wasn't set in a film studio anymore. That's my main memory.

  • Both Arcade and Amiga versions of the game featured a 2nd level in the jungle, I think its the same one youre talking about.

  • ...youre giving me a preety good excuse to replay the go replay the game. =)

  • lol, you'll have an excuse to play both versions :D

  • I will need fo find a friend to play with first, as I wrote on the description, it's almost impossible to get past level 2 alone...

  • Indeed, also try and find an image of the back of the SNES box, If I recall it also explains there the new additions.

  • Found it. It simply says on the bottom "More Enemies, More weapons" but thats it. I have yet to find any difference betwen this, Amiga and Arcade.

  • the only difference to me was it was a lot harder then the arcade and the music is different.

  • Haha memories :D This game ROCKS! Wouldent it be great if someone did a new version of this game? Like a mod or a indie perhaps :) Btw, there IS a new version! In GTA Liberty city stories for PSP. On the first island on the big ship (the one you blow up in GTA III) in the nights there you can enter the ships cargo hold and you get to start whit a chainsaw and bums comes rushing in and so on!

  • I can't pass the second boss.

    Meh whatever

  • why would you make a game that hard?

  • lol

  • Loved this game and Total Carnage

  • Does anyone know what happens when you collect all those red key things throughout the game, i always wanted to know that.

  • the arcade version is a lot more kickass than this one

  • Can someone say Robotron 2084?

  • Imagine this game with four player mode and more enemies *.* WooW!

  • wooooooooooooooooo!!! lol

  • when does the tv blow up

  • love this game

  • funniest game in the world....starting of the game..go go go big money big prizes i love it i buy that for a dollar BINGO XD

  • Big money. Big prizes. I love it.

  • definately a hard game. i allways get confused during 2 players.

  • I always went straight for the bonus rooms...

  • is there any vid that shows the end mof the game? What happens when u get max points?

  • Good luck... you'll need it!

  • i love playing this on MAME

  • No offence lol =P the part at 1:09 the girls beside him really looks like guys with you know... lol

  • Man i loved that game back in the day, fun 2 player game, this guy kinda sucks

  • Sweet nostalgia of when I was 11 and got my Super Nintendo, this ws one of the first games on it. Looking back on it now, it reminds me a lot of PROJECT OVERKILL.

  • Awesome game. I was the master.

  • O RLY?

  • ah good times......wait a sec i have it on my ps2! *runs to play it*

  • God I remember playing this when I was like 5 or something, I'd have one of my friends over and we'd play this game for hours, but because mutoid man is so freaking hard we'd just play the first level over and over again

  • This game looks beter on midway arcade tresurs

  • How can you watch this without thinking DAMN THIS IS HARD!

  • Hmm.

One of my favorites for Super Nintendo.

    Gahhh. :[

  • this is a fun game. back in the day. lol

  • A scathing satire of commercialism and America's obsession with television.

  • Better than the wimpiness that is today's American TV.

  • Totally. I wish they really did have a game show like this.

  • That would truly be legend XD

  • just got done playing it haha

  • i thought that when u die, you explode in a big gory mess. :#

  • Lol

Arcade games were always INSANELY HARD at this time in the buisness, but then again.i think that still applies.

And BTW, i happen to know why they make(set) arcade games so hard,It's to keep people credit feeding so the owners and the companys can make money,

  • God, help me, I actually enjoyed watching this video!

This game was so fun for arcade.

I would play it at a bowling alley because I was too little to bowl, but just old enough to waste my quarters defeating Mutoid Man!

  • This is a great game. Would like to see the walkthrough for the entire game.

  • SO DAMN HARRRRRD!

Love the music to this level!

    Total carnage....I LOVE IT!!

  • ahahha such a fun game

  • Geez those two wimen look like men, lol!

  • Notice how no one has done a speedrun of this game! Has this game ever been beaten by a mortal man?

  • If it were a Konami game, it would involve playing "Trim" on Expert. A BLISTERING 340BPM IN THE 3RD SECTION!

  • This movie is HOT. YouTube ain't deletin' it. Your profile will get deleted, rosaredu653.

  • i remember getting to mutoid man for the first time and screaming "HE'S JUST A HEAD!"

  • BEST.GAME.EVER

  • did mutoid man have like a head in his stomach

  • no that was his wife sucking his cock

  • this game was hard as shit!

  • check out my smash tv vids. more of the same awesome game, with a little less dying ;)

  • The arcade version in midway arcade treasure on gamecube is way better. i beated it today and the ending is disapointing.

  • What was wrong with the people at Midway?

  • The Mutoid Man always shoots laser beams from his eyes.

  • You know what somebody should do, Someone needs to bring back Smash TV, make in to a 1st or 3rd person shooter, and make it a 4 player game(or online 4 player), oh and back of the difficulty a tiny bit. That would be awsome

  • you know, manhunt on the xbox/ps2 has a similar concept.

maybe that is why smash tv wont be remade any time soon.

  • Well Manhunt isn't a going around wave after wave of enimies for money and prizes. Manhunt is more of a MGS+lots of gore.

  • nice 1 on the cash prizes even when i play it i dnt get that high

  • Yeah thats true. The game was hard enough, touch kill would be overboard. Good vid.

  • BIG MONEY! BIG PRIZES! I LOVE IT!

  • This had to be the hardest snes game ever, but man it felt good blowing guys away. And 2 player was the best (nearly beat all 3 stages with 2 player). And how do you not get hurt when you run right into people?

  • I recently played the mega drive version of this (which i never played before) and all I can say is...TERRIBLE!!

Its not just the gameplay but everything about it was botched, even the characters handguns look like toilet paper tubes!

  • This game took up at least 4 hours of Saturdays when I was 12...I could have been doing so many other things..but not as good as this!!! Or STARWING!

  • good upload , such a legendary game. 'big miney , big prizes. I love it!'

  • ah good times......wait a sec i have it on my ps2! *runs to play it*

  • this game was arcade perfect..i love this game...the only difference is when you pick up a yellow present in the arcade version the guy yells WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO not some lil' crappy woo

  • This is NOT arcade perfect at all!

  • Its the SNES version, what do you expect

  • williams did make a 2nd chapter....it was called Total Carnage

  • Woo! The REAL multiplayer experience on the SNES imo. Forget Mario Kart this was the real deal :D

  • I agree it had more "team work" like doubles in Super Tennis

...than screwing over your opponents with hurled banana skins in MARIO KART!! but that's fun too, like Smash Bros..

  • this game is really good!!!

i wish that williams will make a second chapter

of this dynamic shooter. - graphic 7 - music sound 6.5 - game play 8

  • ShiryuGL, you're VERY close to being correct about the SNES version being arcade perfect. When the announcer says "I love it!", there is more compression than the Arcade version. Aside from that, the SNES version is Arcade-perfect. But the first 100% Arcade-perfect version didn't arrive until the GameCube version of Midway Arcade Treasures was released (the PS2 version had an inconsistent framerate, the Xbox version had multiplayer issues, and the GameCube version is Arcade-perfect).

  • It's not QUITE as arcade perfect as everyone says. The Arcade's music is higher pitched, there's less money in a level, it's MUCH harder to defeat that Mutoid Man(aka the mother fucker), and sometimes when you die or shoot about 20 enemies the croud cheers.

  • still you have to admit its a lot closer to the original in relation to other "conversions" at the time

  • Yep, PLUS let's not forget about Time Killers, Mortal Kombat and Primal Rage's ghastly fall into home systems. However,Probe did an excellent job converting Smash T.V. I went back to the Cade'. and the SNES and Sega Versions are Great.

  • The sound in this video isn't quite what the game sounds like when you're actually playing it. The SNES version is 99% Arcade-perfect, with extra compression when the announcer says "I love it!" and that's it.

  • Yeah, you're right. However, it looks kinda like the anouncer is mouthing "woodchuck" over and over for other speeches. AND NOTICE THIS! Parents raised hell over MK's Blood but look at the gore upon killing Mutoid Man. Arm,Arm,Chestplate,Head,Torso, and ReHead. And when the rehead is killed blood shoots outta the X-ploding tank.

  • Yeah. When I first played this, I was ultra surprised the violence was included in the SNES version. But the NES version...man that one had so many cuts.

  • that it did, MegaMan, That it did. However, Everything exists in the Genesis version exists, but the announcer is different from two angles: The women look evil. And the announcer kinda had an anime look to him

  • I see again.

    Thanks a ton

  • I see. So its like Crimsonland I suppose with a jeopardy theme? :)

  • I neved liked this game. What is the point of it? - Can anyone explain?

  • hmmmmmm....the difficulty seems familiar...

    *checks wikipedia*

    whoa-WHAT THE?!?

    WILLIAMS?!?

the creators of Defender,Joust and other's??!?

I THOUGHT THIS WAS A KONAMI GAME!!!

ONLY KONAMI GAMES ARE THIS HARD!!!

  • Woah! You weren't kidding when you said that was the longest, hardest level one boss ever!

  • is this the ntsc version ? it looks so much fast than ma pal version

  • This game was so damn hard! I remember a sense of relief coming over me when I beat mutoid man, only to find that I hadnt finished the game lmao oh when I was young

  • cool! still remember some of the scenes in this game when i played it as a young child

  • omg wow!! you posted this one too!! it's another one of my faves. you rock!!
