@bassheadMD no sir. I've had a solo x, BTL 15, BTL 12's, This and a DD. The DD BLEW. The Orion is my favorite and somehow handles the most power by a long shot with an exponential increase in volume per watt.

@erobles396010 if you want comp spl go for large volume and high tuning around 36hz. I strongly prefer my 27hz box with this sub more than any other single sub/box combination period. It has the excursion to pull off some hefty lows and still gets decent readings on the highs.

Im thinking of a single sub setup that'll hit 150dB's or close to it.. (+ or - 3dB), any suggestions? I have about 1200 to spend.. Im thinking orion hcca 15, hcca 5000d, ported to 27hz with a decent sized kinetiks battery in the trunk? any comments, suggestions, or critiques?

@mike05937 power handling is a function of the enclosure, im guessing since your porting to 27 hz you want a larger than spec box to enhance the low end response, the larger the box, the better the low end response BUT the less the sub can handle in terms of wrms.. so with a big box, ported low your prolly not gonna hit 150, also 5000d is a lil over kill ESPECIALLY if your using a big box

This is my 5th box. It's the music tuned box but oddly it was also the loudest.

I'm running the btl 15 right now at 38hz. The hcca is louder :D

box is 3.7^3ft tuned to 27hz with a 3.25" kerfed port to add port length. The box is bigger than it looks, it stretches back far into my trunk. I positioned it and made a carpeted spacer to keep it in place for the best possible sound from it.
