  • @phantompanther One of the fascinating things visitors can learn by visiting a lot of zoos and visiting the same ones frequently is that animals have unique individual personalities just like people do.

    The other redcapped mangabeys that used to live in the Philadelphia Zoo were very social with each other.

  • @ZooVisitorMM Yeah, that's true. However, even though they have their own personalities, they do tend to have certain behaviors, so it a bit strange when one of them does something completely different than the usual. Not that I think they can't.

  • @phantompanther One was old ... and I believe the other one is still at another zoo.

    Several attempts were made to bring in a mate for this one, but none worked out, and as you can see, he seems to be very content as a bachelor.
