  • the song is brilliant

  • still love this song

    years later

  • The drummer in the song is my 10th grade English teacher(:

  • My arm is gone gone gone

  • 127 hours - aron ralson - john ralston

  • OfWgKtA... We're all asking, "Where the f**k is Earl Sweatshirt?"

    Answer: Gone, gone, gone...

  • OFWGKTA.

  • i can relate to this

  • i can relate to this

  • @QueenSnuggie not fucking cool man

  • Saw you in 2007.. awesome!

  • I dont understand how this has this many views...

  • @mbaba1287 i think is bcuz all was searching for Aron Ralston and entered here just for curiosity

  • Reminds me of first loves.

  • Oops! Just clicked on the wrong Ralston...

  • i had this song in my head for weeks now, and i couldnt remember the name… i remembered because i saw the movie 127 hours 'aron ralston'

  • This song came out (or at least I discovered it) just as I was embarking on the disintegration of a long-term relationship that I really thought would last. This song was very painful to listen to because it was so relevant to my situation (as most sad songs are).

  • The promise never harvested in fallow fields shall lie.

In a shallow grave of stubble field and half-remembered lies.

A burning heart deceived me and you really put me on,

But now you’re gone, gone, gone

That is just such fucking killer wordplay. so very sick

Used to pride myself on living a life without any regrets,

    But now that’s -------->------>------>

  • he has a way of touching upon very raw emotion that is so very personal and unique to each owns situation, yet at the very same time so global and similar and relatable by a wide group of people (if not EVERYONE)

I was blown away by his talent as a song writer the very first time I heard him and still even years later I find myself coming back to him regularly.

  • f*** you I dont need you

  • I love this song. The part where he talks about meeting her again and pretend that they never knew "I'll say you remind me of a girl I knew so long ago but now she's gone gone gone" shew that's church right there!

  • great song!! i remember he was the opening act at a dasboard concert I went to a really long time ago and i instantly fell in love with this song

  • this song fit into the movie-the other side of the tracks-so great, was like it was wrote for the movie, also john ralston must of had some really bad break up's with girl's,most of his songs are about failed love's

  • talked to him after a concert in portland oregon, he stood out talked to me and a buddy for about an hour in the freezing ass cold one of the nicest guys ever

  • its been a little over a month since we have talked. about a year since we met. i saw you yesterday. we were like strangers just like the day we met. but there was still so much tension between us. i wanted to kiss you so badly and never let you go. but you have moved on to someone worth a chance... good luck on finding your dreams. maybe we will cross again someday...

    to loren

    from anthony

  • @Outlet30 Creepy, my name is Loren.

  • "I WANNA TOUCH YOU, WANNA BREATH YOU...SAY F*** YOU, I DON'T NEED YOU...GET OUT!!!"

I love this part of the song...perfectly describes how I'm feeling...wanting something so bad...but just wanting to be rid of it as well.

  • my balls couldve directed this video better, such a good song ruined by a shitty ass video. and no one said this was easy is a much better song some plz post a studio version of that song.

  • @garylolson1 My balls DID direct this. Don't hate me for it. Hate my balls.

  • terrific song...does anybody know what ever happened to this guy? does he still play/record? i can't find much info on him

  • @WKolodzieski he has a new record called shadows of the summertime, and he's trying to figure out how to distribute it/find a new home so to speak since he's no longer with vagrant. he also has a new band called invisible music.

  • This song is incredible. Every verse is as moving as the last. I'm pretty sure it will forever be a favorite of mine. John Ralston is such a talented song writer.

  • This song is amazing.

ps. Check out my profile if you like Harry Potter! :)

  • i never get sick of this song, so good.;

  • he was great live with dashboard a couple years ago

  • oh that voice with those lyrics<3

soo glad i heard this song!

  • We were strangers when we met, and we were strangers when you left...

I used to pride myself on living life without any regrets, now that's gone, gone, gone.

  • wow! this track is beautiful. i like the way how it was written, very poetic. this is my favorite line:

"The promise never harvested in fallow fields shall lie in a shallow grave of stubble field and half-remembered lies."

i like the video too. very simple and direct. ;)

  • this song is defenitely perfection, at least from a songwriting perspective. The emotions Joh nRalston captures through his words are.. indescribable by any except himself.

  • konstantine by the something corporate...amazing song...probably would def have 2 be on the soundtrack 2 my life....

    this song is good 2....props

  • Aw John Ralston, this song is amazing. He's such a sweet guy! Very fun to talk to in person. This video is great though! :)

  • This song is phenomenal. The meaning is so profound. Sad.... Its almost as good as this song called "Konstantine"

  • More than a song

  • i love this video so much!

  • i can't get enough of this song, it's so realistic....it just hurts emotionally bc it just makes you think about all the crap that you've been through and how you want to change it but dont at the same time

  • I love this song. So true. Memories can be so bittersweet, you long and yearn for them to 'be' again, but at the same time all you can do is wish they would disapear. He really captures this element of love well.

  • The promise never harvested in fallow fields shall lie.

In a shallow grave of stubble field and half-remembered lies.

A burning heart deceived me and you really put me on,

But now you're gone, gone, gone.

I WANNA TOUCH YOU, WANNA BREATH YOU

    SAY F*** YOU, I DON'T NEED YOU

    GET OUT.

  • Interesting what you project with your caps. =)

  • More than beautiful.

  • LOVE j ralston ! The city isn't the same when all the streets they know your name </3 so trueee

  • Fantastic song thank you.

  • the lyrics to this song blow me away every time I listen.

  • I've written songs for years but only recently have I started really working on the lyrics. Sometimes competing with major stuff makes me never want anyone to hear my songs, but I've uploaded one so listen if you want and see what you think.

    Peace.

  • this song was my friends song when she died,

its such an intense song, really really good.

  • That's pretty intense, in itself. What do you mean it was your friends song when she died?

  • it was like, HER song. I don't know how to explain it, haha.

  • That's cool.. I love this song and want it to be my own, too.

  • this song is amazing.. but the vid is poor. =/

  • I have to disagree with that. The video is just as, if not more, expressive. They made it that way on purpose.

  • I can't get over this song!!! i love it!!!

  • i saw this in glasgow on monday, pure bliss ! the more i listen to it the more i love it but definatly cant beat it live ! amazing ! xx

  • I saw him last night

    was really really good

almost as good as dashboard confessional

    almost

    xxx

  • I love him John Ralston. He's AMAZING. =D

    And this song is FANTASTIC.

  • no one can play it loud enough!

  • I don't think I can play this song loud enough to do it justice...

  • i met him too my friend's brother recorded him and i got to go over while he was recording and meet him it was totally awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I met him and his band at the Norva when he opened for Dashboard. He is the nicest person I've ever met

  • ME 2..jk but i want too

  • i saw him open for dashboard like 2 months ago...amazing!!!

nicely done video too...i love this song!

  • I know him...great guy

  • this song is amazing live!

  • Lol same name as the dad in Life With Derek

  • I saw his name on the credits for Drake and Josh too lolz

  • saw ralston open for dashbaord on the 2nd in Columbus, he was amazing! augustana also opened, but they weren't as good. Anyway, John Ralston is amazing!

  • I love this song! The lyrics are awesome.

The promise never harvested in fallow fields shall lie.

In a shallow grave of stubble field and half-remembered lies.

A burning heart deceived me and you really put me on,

But now you're gone, gone, gone.

  • im going to dashboard in 2 days and john ralston is opening, he sounds pretty good.

  • i actually love bright eyes and can't stand dashboard.

they are completely different sounds and lyrics and meanings and it's absurd to lump them together.

  • Agreed

  • Saw him last night in SLC. He is amazing. So talented.

  • dashboard rockz! and so does jhon.

  • gorgeus

  • I love this song, sooooo much :)

  • Sooo good in concert & really sweet, too! The whole band signed my CD after I saw them with Dallas Green & Dashboard last year.

  • omg his voice is soooo sexy!

  • SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL!

  • i don't understand why this song is tagged dashboard and bright eyes etc...bright eyes is cool (besides the point but o well) but dashboard is just gross

  • they have the same violin player and are on the same record label.

  • haha your ridiculous you like bright eyes but not dashboard? haha dashbaord is actually amazing and has a lot of meaningful songs

  • this song is just amazing... Ralston = powerfull

  • it sucks that John Ralston is SO UNDERRATED. He is much better than other "successful" artists and even better than other Vagrant artists that receive more support and marketing. I hope Vagrant realize what they are losing.

  • I love this song

    with all my heart

    :]

  • I have had the opportunity to see him in concert three times now and also have had the opportunity to talk to him a couple of times. John is an amazing artist and an incredibly humble man.

  • Bro actually shed a tear on stage when I saw him play this... I had to laugh. Sorry.

  • i saw him play this song with dashboard like 3 months ago.. i saw this video on fuse and it sounded so familir to me, then it all came together. i love this song!

  • I <3 this song, but it stops at 3:31...is it just my computer?

  • yep its just urs cause mine works fine.

  • o man do i love this song. just amazing =D hopt to hear more from mr. ralston!!! YAY

  • i know right its soo good. a little softer than what i listen to but fucking sweet
