  • Speaking of mutated cats, that actually happens in 'The Nest'. In that movie, it's mutant roaches. Any lifeform they kill assimilates the mutant roach DNA and gets reanimated as a part roach hybrid mutant zombie. One of the reanimated mutants is an "ex-cat." It was a cat that had been used as bait and was eaten by the roaches.

Oh, and the "general spider" was portrayed as male but should have been female since spiders are matriarchical. There ARE such things as colonial spider species.

  • They run this on TV all the time. Never want to watch it. Never will.

  • Wow I saw this movie a long time ago but didn't know the name but now I see it again

  • Eh...that's not that big a bowl of popcorn. Also...this is just a review and the scene with the invaded house made me shudder! I consider myself a fan of scary movies, but I may just have to skip this one. I'll be imagining spiders under my bed covers for weeks.

  • @Bluesit32 i know how you feel... i was subjected to this movie as a child and since then ive never been the same with any sort of spider.. even daddy long legs creep me the fuck out...

  • I remember watching this, I really didn't want the two fat people to die

  • "LOOK IT IS HIM! It's not really" :3

  • 2:56 It's the marble rye lady from Seinfeld! R.I.P. Frances.

  • Hey the grumpy old doctor's bedspread is the same as mine when I was a kid! I actually live in an area with deadly venomous spiders, so I'm pretty blase about just seeing ones on the screen and get distracted by the background.

  • the warlock got killed by a spider.

  • Poor Julian getting killed off, why didn't he just use his awesome demonic warlock powers?!

  • GUH! Now I hafta watch some cute, fluffy kittens or something. I'm a huge arachniphobe myself, so watching this made me all twitchy. >_o

  • that looks like the normal amount of popcorn that would come from a bag of popcorn

  • Just watching this review I feel tingly... And I've seen Arachnophobia several times.

  • "it's behind you, not it isn't...OH FUCK!"

  • this is a classic...i loved your review, and i loved even more the film, like you said it delivers on every level

  • brilliant song

  • seen as how you mentioned bottom in this vid maybe you could review their movie bottom: guest house paradiso

  • Right when my brother, his friend, and I finished watching this movie, some douche took a fake bug and threw it at us whilst the credits were rolling. The perpetrators have not been forgiven. Excellent review, as always.

  • This movie scared me as a kid. It made me really hate, hate, hate, hate, spiders.

  • nice never thought of this one lol

  • review the mist

  • "Oh yeah help yourself Fat Boy"

    XD LMAO

God damnit John you funny Bastard!

  • Great review! really good film and the effects are brilliant in this. Great to see Eddie and Richie with grat leading roles!! Keep up the good work

  • gave me the chills just watching this.

  • Oh yeah, saw this on sci fi channel.

  • @LarsSeprest I saw it on TBS a long time ago

  • Oh,and the spider doctor had some great movies, like Warlock, and Warlock Armageddon

  • This movie is a great invasion movie, cause bugs in general in a great number are just creepy, unless it is butterflies..though killer butterflies would be interesting..perhaps..

  • ooh shit lol, i looked up eight legged freaks right before i ewatched this, how ironic lol

  • If you like bug movies, check out 'The Nest'. It's mutant roaches that turn anything they devour into a mutant roach-zombie. At the end, you get to see a multi-headed monstrosity which is one of the most inventive monsters of '80s flicks. It rips a woman's arm off then slowly bites the top of her head off with its mandibles. There's also a scene with a mutant cat. The cat gets eaten alive by roaches then comes back as a mutant roach-cat zombie.

  • Entertaining movie but 0% scientific fact. Spiders don't behave like ants. Some species have colonies but they're not led by a "general." Also, spiders are matriarchical, so if there is a "generalissimo," it would be female. The entomologist's apprentice reminds me of Curtis Craig from 'Phantasmagoria: A Puzzle of Flesh'.

  • @IggyHazard And female arachnids, specially spiders, are bigger than males (a glaring example: the black widows), and oftentimes will try to eat him if they could.

  • @Xerxes1688 The anglerfish is especially unusual. The female dwarfs the male and when they mate, the male's body becomes assimilated into the female's body!

    \8-o

It's like she absorbs him by osmosis! XD

  • As an American, I should say that, that bowl of popcorn was small..... believe me.

  • Man I think you should do Jurassic Park. Even if you love it there's around 50 problems you can spot throughout the movie.

  • Real spiders too! No CG crap

  • Oh shit, I remember that fat guy from Silence of the Hams

  • Watches this video.

6 Hours later flicking through the tv guide

Notices.... Arachnophobia on Saturday Night 11pm :/

    Thinks to myself.... wtf 0_o

  • Great movie, but your reviews of the crap movies are just so much funnier.

No offense, but I think you should stick to shit, John.

  • DO "THE DEADLY SPAWN"LOL.THAT WOULD MAKE ME PISS.

  • Hit the nail on the head, John. Saw this movie when it came out and I remember very well that creepy-crawly feeling I had all over my body.

  • That rod did not need to be that big

  • @femmebot3000 Given how the spider moved I think it's safe to say the rod wasn't just for pushing it, it probably had the motor that articulated the legs like that. This movie was released in 1990 so having a working motor in something that small would have been difficult. Not a big deal, just thinking about why it might have been so big because otherwise there really isn't a reason.

Anyway, great movie, great review. This is always a hilight of the week when Shitcase comes out.

  • @Goldenkitten1 You're probably right (like you said, there must be a plausible reason for why that looked so bad!) but supposing the spider was not real, I still think it could have been propelled by more discreet means, such as remote control. Even cables could have been tucked away behind Daniel's leg or in a cut in his trouser. Personally, I reckon Frank Marshall was just getting lazy.

    Big Shitcase fan here, too.

  • love your videos, hate your shirt-take that che shit off, he was a scumbag

  • Sorry, I hated this Arachnophobia. There's a spider movie that I'd love for you to review -if you can find it. "Kingdom of the Spiders" Starring... Wait for it. Wait for it... WILLIAM SHATNER!!! Please review this movie. You know you want to. Who could possibly resist reviewing a movie where Captain Kirk, going by the name of, "Rack," (LOLZ!!) tries to save his little town from deadly tarantulas? Another reason to review it? THE SPIDERS WIN! Thanks for the upload.
  • This was a funny review. Nice reference from Bottoms.

If you did this, you should try "Ticks" by Brian Yuzna from the year 1993.

  • I was hopeing youed do this film-i saw it when i was 4 and it it stuck in my mind as one of the greatisted films i could remember from my toadler years...10 years later i found it and i am increadibly aracnophobic yet i still love this film and love watching it...why anyone got any idear why i love watching this film if im sooooo arachnophobic, anyone im not even watching the review im listening to it because im too screard to put the screen up...sorry for the terrible spelling!

  • Best episode in 2011 so far. Dr Death stole my heart.

  • ive always been scared of the spiders. oddly enough though i watched this half a dozen ties when it came out and my phobia wasnt so bad.......Therapy :) - course now i piss my pants again

  • This shit is scary.

  • bottom: the early years

  • whoa! is that Warlock?

  • Funny, I didn't think this was a good movie at all. I would have expected you to trash it. Well, maybe you would like 8 legged freaks? I found that way more entertaining.

  • You should seriously write Mega Croc Vs Giant Spider and sell it to The Asylum, they'll buy anything XD

  • Imagine Eddie and Richie running a laboratory XD

    Funny review as always...

  • @Cassavius they'd say labiaratory.

  • @hugeackman

    They would XD

  • If anyone wants a great spider based B movie

look no further than Bill Rebane's masterpeice of cheese

    The Giant Spider Invasion

  • That's what Zardoz needs, Spiders! I'm just an exterminator.

  • Spiders creep me out and I got shivers of disgust just seeing the review.

  • This movie started my phobia of spiders.

  • Hard so much about this flick before I saw it. But it sucked, sadly.

  • I felt really unconfirtible watching this for the first time! Very well made.

  • John Goodman, ey? I think i'll take a look at this one someday.

  • Arachnophobia pales in comparison to William Shatner's Kingdom of the Spiders.

  • I want that ''Dr Death'' song as my ringtone.

  • Speaking of John Goodman you should review king Ralph.

  • Im guessing the one in the lamp was a brown recluse.

  • Last time when I saw this film was about 13 years ago. I had almost forgotten all about it. Thanks for making this review.

  • How did this get a PG rating back in the day? Lots of death. Far more disturbing than some 18 movies.

  • That guy watchin wheel of fortune, didn't Arnie blow his brains out in Total Recall?

  • Richard actually looks like Julian Sands from Warlock.

  • @Alan27Jorn thats because he is Julian Sands

  • I bet "Mega Crow VS Giant Spider" will be made by The Asylum.

  • John Goodman ''I'm just an exterminator''.

Ah, god, I can't even help it any more.

  • Jaws with spiders? Not even close.

  • The spiders in this movie are incredibly common here in New Zealand (its where they got them from for the movie)...I fucking HATE seeing them coz they always remind e of this movie even if they are more or less harmless!

  • @powerrangerofdoom Generally spiders of all species are harmless unless provoked you could pretty much have a tarantula crawl on you and not get bitten once as long as you didn't give it a reason to feel threatened.

  • @orichalcossaiyan Yeah i know, i believe they are called Avondale spiders or something to that effect and are normally highly afraid of humans.

  • @powerrangerofdoom Never heard of Avondale spiders.

  • This movie was awesome.

  • LOL, Skeletor's Spydor ... wicked cool!

  • This movie is entertaining, but I'm a civil engineer, and when impossible things happen in film (like in this one when his fall breaks the solid wood flooring out all the way to the cellar-physically impossible to happen), it loses me a little.

  • <3 this movie

  • seeing the clips of spiders make me feel uneasy but when i see spiders in real life i generally feel pretty calm and safe. Weird ey?

  • one of my favorite childhood movies!

  • dude, why did you get rid of your rockin mullet anyways. Aside from that, thank you for the hours of entertainment youve provided.

  • @TheCaptainLulz John is going bald, unfortunately.

  • @CLoWnnSkuLL Yeah, on top, but he was when he had that sick mullet he had. Mullets can have no hair on top so long as its òver the ears, down the neck, its fun as heck!

  • "John Goodman chasing John Connor" hahaha, deffo a future shit movie along with the mega crow and giant spider lol - classic

  • Great Review

First time i watch with my girlfriend and a real small Spider on my table and my girlfriend totaly shitted her pants XD

  • John Goodmen, ya that's right, I'm bad.

  • I love this movie! So pleased you've reviewed it. Gonna watch it again first chance i get now.

  • doctor death:dont mess with him or hell bore you with his spider facts

    idea for a t shirt?

  • Awesome. I love this movie.

  • word

  • Awesome another great movie review.
