Wow !...i´ve got no words, my emotion is higher!..is the first time I listen this song, I know Siouxsie since they exist, is one of my favourite bands, i saw them live in the eighties in Lisbon(where I live)...but is the firt time I listen this song...what a nice song and video...different but very emotional...I have no more words...Joao
His influences range from the proto-punk: The Velvet Underground, The Stooges, the punk: Sex Pistols, and even the glam: David Bowie. All these bands moving around an area alternative. You could say that Siouxsie & the Banshees took some influence from these bands and mixed in a style that only few have been able to interpret the post-punk. The proto-punk took his lyrical eccentricity. Punk took the scenic and musical, and finally took the glam aesthetics
Siouxie should have been more popular in mainstream music, this stuff is wonderful. I'm really surprised fewer people don't have exposure to this music. It's a shame, everyone should have been enriched by this music and band.
Umm shes considered UNDERGROUND music trend back then and if she ever went totally commercial then many fans would have dropped her instantly.
But I think she dd try for the commercial scene with "kiss them for me" but all my female goth friends would turn the radio at that song denying she went commerical. I guess she decided to stick with her fans instead of radio dweebs
WOuld like to make a point if an underground scene made it to the radio OVERALL then it is no longer considered underground anymore but commercial music and fans preferred her to stay underground.

@vezon100 certainly, many famous folks don't want to cross that line "sell out." I'm not sure how it works in radio, but I don't know if you can totally control that aspect of fame. You can hardly find someone in an office setting or on the street who even knows who Siouxie is, in the music industry or some rock and roll alternative bar somewhere of coarse. But how much did she actually control limiting her own fame? Don't mistake what I'm saying, she is worthy of all the fame in the world.
The woman who introduced me to Siouxie music was a lover for about a year, nothing more then lovers but I wanted so much more. So this song is very sad for me, wanting that woman more then I could have her. Then this song ontop of it reminding me of her. I'm ok now of coarse that was 20 years ago, I'm married now about 6 years. It's all about the memories.
What a wonderful and personal note. It's so refreshing to see how music touches and places people at the personal level. Thanks for the brave comment!

The Banshees got a lot of play in the mid 90's in San Diego. Especially when Batman 2 came out.
