  • The opening is way way too fast. Absolutely without taste. Incredible technique yes, taste not really. The rest wasn't too bad for a piano roll.

  • why so fast?-....

  • Oh my, such incredible dexterity and strong hands..

    This has inspired me :D

  • To hear this - is to hear Liszt himself. a rare treasure....

  • Fantastic pianist....!!!!

  • This is amazing! Fast as it should be. Vivace shouldn't be slow. Because why we even have markings like presto and vivace, if we don't play them like should be?

  • I have transferred to CD Duo-Art piano roll no. 5724,recorded in February 1916, of Friedheim's performance of Liszt's "Fountains of Villa d'Este". Timing: 7:32. It is part of a 3 CD set of historic reproducing piano recordings of Franz Liszt's piano works performed by his celebrated Weimar pupils. The set is enclosed with the book "Rediscovering the Liszt Tradition" by Gerard Carter and is published and sold by Wensleydale Press, 165/137 Victoria Street, Ashfield NSW 2131, Sydney, Australia.
