I lived in Yemen until I'm 15 years old. Trust me, the government doesn't have any control whatsoever. Yemen is not like any other country in the world, the tribes are very powerful. The Yemeni government doesn't care about fighting terrorism, all they want is support from the US(Money) so these corrupted leaders can live in mansions and drive good cars while the Yemeni population is in poverty.

Muslim extremism in Yemen is not new...in the 60s & 70s & 80s they were waging a terror campaign against their neighbours in Oman...the Yemen terrorists machinegunned a beach party near Salalah in oman in 1979 killing several...I was one of the lucky escapees...they murdered hundreds of Omanis in the name of allah tho' Oman is a muslim country and a peaceful one....so Palestine/Iraq/Afghanistan were not the excuse then nor now..this is about islam imposing a particular view on the world....
