The interior of Mini is retarded. There is simply no other word for it. Fine you want to preserve the tradition and heritage of the brand but you have to be practical to compete in modern times. I test drove it and loved the way it drove but the big dial was almost repulsive to look at and all the controls are scattered, making them hard to use. I've already owned a fun to drive but impractical to own car and wasn't going to make the same mistake again.

Yeah! That's it. Finally they made a car without any extra space in it. Straight 2 seater, no stupid back seats for kids and luggage. Just awesome coupe of JCW division. Brilliant! The only one problem is that I don't earn much. Fuck!

I wish they had the scirocco in the US. It looks great -aggresive but not weird- has enough horsepower, the interior is nice, and the overall handling and car is a VW. Plus, with the small car boom in the US, it would be a pretty competent player...

I'll take the MX-5 Roadster with the hard folding roof any day.

Maybe not as powerful but who cares when you're driving down the beach with the roof down, the sun shining, warm breeze blowing. Plus it's a Mazda so it'll go on forever.

If you must, you can always add some basic after market mods like cold air intake, 4/2/1 header, exhaust, etc.

@ArtemiyPavlov No you can't, there is a £6,000 difference in price in the UK (UK review). VW don't tend to give you much standard equipment on UK spec cars either so price is always a lot higher. The Golf is bland and mostly a company car, not something to buy with your own money as everyone thinks it isn't your own. The Scirocco hasn't gone down well in the UK and struggles to attract sales. Most on the UK roads are company cars, whereas Mini's are mostly privately owned.

@AndrewParkerTV Well here in Ukraine Golf R costs about the same money as Mini Cooper S. In UK pounds, the Coupe JCW would be 10-15k more expensive. So I am talking from this perspective. And so far with my experience, Mini's interior has worse materials and larger and uneven gaps compared to the boring Golf. Also if we talk about Golf R or Scirocco R, they have all the drama you want, it's not a "fashion" car, they look business.
