  • I loved Alfie's music in the 80's..found it again now and listen to it so much I find I am humming his songs to myself at work . I'm living in the states now but am so darned of our Canadian talent. Alfie still rocks !!

  • Hey Alfie, Its John from Killer Sound In Vernon BC. I mixed your show at The Rarearth music festival in 2009 and again 2010. I have to say this is one of my all time favorite songs. You are a wonderful guy to work with and I wish you and your all the best in the up coming year. Cheers my friend.

  • Life has some great pleasures

    This is one of them

  • Just browsing. I saw MR. Alfie Zappacosta, perform in a little pub in the North Okanagan Valley, in central B.C. 9-10 years ago. Little whistle stop call Grindrod.

His songs are just to introspective for most people who want Loud Crashing Banging, one liners, 2-3 chord tunes. Gordon Lightfoot started as a piano player.

City of Lost Angels told him to learn guitar, or he would go no where. We will never know. Steve Earle prefers playing in Canada. He is from Texas. The music industry. Go figure

  • I love this version of this song. I was astonished to learn from his last concert in Winnipeg that Alfie wrote this song at 18 years old. Quite a mature and insightful song, don't you think?

  • One word, brilliant.

  • Thank you!!!! for all the great songs...and a voice that is it's own...

  • BIEN

  • He is playing in White Rock BC June 24 / 25 2011 at the Blue Frog Studio

  • My parents used to dance to this while alone together. It`s a beautiful song, I wish they still danced.

  • @laylamarlainehansen Your words brought a tear to my eye. God Bless

  • A truly Amazing Canadian Music Legend! On top of that, a flawless track (IMO)!

I have met & interviewed Alfie a few times, he truly is a first-rate person all the way!

BTW, his first name is incorrect in this titled video. It should read: "ALFIE".

Apart from that, thanks for posting an amazing live video of this great classic of his! THANKS!

  • Love love love this, thanks so much for being you, Alfie.

  • I heard an interesting fact about one of Zappacostas songs "Orlanda" ....Orlanda is actually the name of Zappacostas aunt...I think Orlanda is one of the most beautiful names I have ever heard....

  • start agin a way beautiful song...god bless zappacosta..god bless canada and america...

  • One of my sister's favorite songs.. I heard it once many years ago and NEVER forgaot it! I've learned it on the piano and am very excited to record my version.

  • very nice song Alfie, a great story

  • Post Another Man's Gain pls

  • Alfie...two words...you rule!

  • right up there with steve perry.... truly an amzing voice!!!

  • I see him in Halifax whenever I get the chance- love his voice and his music! One very entertaining musician! He sounds better than ever

  • I love this song! you rule Alfie!

  • Yes it has been a long time...

    Great vocals.

  • An incredible, classic song by a true Canadian artist. It still baffles me that he hasn't had even more success than he's had with such an incredible voice! Thanks though for all the great music.

  • It baffles all his fans I'm sure. What truly annoys the hell out of me is so many with one tenth the talent of this man have had much more success.Fame sometimes comes to those less deserving it seems but thats the music industry in general...teeny boppers but the most cds and thus that is who they cater to most...sad but thats the biz.

  • unfortunately nowadays you don't need talent to achieve success..Alfie, and other canadians like Keith Hampshire were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time..

  • all depends how you measure success :) If you have to sacrifice things for success is it really success. Loving what you're doing and doing what you love is what counts.

  • @stephpo70 he sings in northern lights TEARS ARE NOT ENOUGH i just cant gush enough about him

  • This is an amazing rendition of an already great song by Alfi, I won't insult it by trying to label it. Thanks for posting this!

  • I have seen Mr Zappacosta perform many times in Halifax and can only say Italy's loss is Canada's gain. He truly is a national music treasure...:)

  • The Surrender song "Find Your Way" may be available in some vinyl retailers in Toronto who sell used albums. I've never seen it or any of the cuts re-issued. Also, the song here plus three other (including It's All Been Done Before) were on a 4-song EP they released as Surrender before Alfie went solo. All the best to all the other fans out there. He's a true gem.

  • i loooove ur voice Alfie!!! I bought so many of your songs and my favorites are: Moon Tattoo and Madonna que supressa - i wish you can upload a music video of these 2 songs :)

  • What an enchanting voice. I saw him years ago on French-Canadian TV and he's an extremely delightful person as well. Bravo Alfie, time to release an album!!! :)

  • wow brahma1964 , I have also been looking , I do have the full version of It's all been done before which is a grat song.

  • Trying to find a tune called "Find Your Way" by Surrender. Anyone know where it can be found? Alfie was the lead singer of this band if memory serves. This would be in the early 80's.

  • i remember this song from the mid 80"s actually he went to my high school emery collegiate in toronto..after he made it big we would always see his father walking around the neighbourhood..such a kind decent man

  • What a lovely comment to make about Alfie's father. I guess the apple didn't fall far from the tree.

  • Yes....a good ole' Emery student. Not much else coming out of Toronto lately that can match his voice. Great re-make of an Alfie classic

  • Lovely. I'd enjoy seeing the entire "Innocence Ballet" disc as a video! Alfie is blessed with such a sweet tonal quality.

  • VERY NICE to see this video re-posted and listen to Alfie's timeless' song. It's always nice talking Alfie!
