@arcades687 Dumb ass, Dow, did not own Union Carbide! The Indian Government Settled With Union Carbide in the 90's, before Dow even owned Union Carbide. Union Carbide had fulfilled its obligations as required by the Supreme Court of India and then some. If you were not such an ideologue you would realize about 90% of the problem, past and present, is the Indian Government. Perhaps you should actually educate yourself on the topic.
@arcades687 Dow Chemical's crimes? Dow Chemical didn't even own Union Carbide at the time of the accident. Though, Indian Banks and the Indian Public owned almost 50% of the plant.
The root cause of the disaster was Indian politicians, a law was passed in India saying that at least 50% of the board of any company doing business in India had to be Indian nationals. So Union Carbide was forced to hand the control of the plant to a board dominated by Indian nationals, and that was when corruption set in and safety standards at the plant started to slip. After a decade or so of this decline, the disaster happened, and the Indians tried to blame the US company.
Those indian national were working for dow chemicals!its like you wrking for an american company make you part of the organization.you have liability of any mishappening happen since you are associated with the brand/company!!
No doubt indian politicians are corrupt but it doesnt take away the reason for disaster!!
If indian working in dow chemical were corrupt then its problem of dow chemicals!
@imran9291 So you think because some developing nations have corrupt governments it gives a right to money making bastards to let the standards slip when the are aware of consequences..?
When is Dow chemical aka Union Carbide going to be made to pay for what they have done in Bhopal and countless other places?
