I like this version as opposed to the original. Jennifer Nettles' voice lends something to the nature of the song. It gives more emotion to the words of love and desire. Remember, this is a song about a romance, not a typical country song.

I do like both versions. Matt's is definately a bit softer and almost darker in a way, while Sugarland's almost has more soul to it. I like both though, cause you have the soft and sweet version and the twangy version.

Hall is a lesbian, and there are ugly rumors that she was pushed out of the band for it (because 'country audiences believe in family values'). I love Sugarland but Matt Nathanson's original version is better. The meaning of the song is about Matt's sexual experiences with the love of his life (presumably his wife).

As good as Sugarland's version is it doesn't capture the real meaning of the song. Especially at the 2:45 mark, there's nothing really sexy about a harmonica.

It's like all the covers of Don Henley's "Boys of Summer" or Peter Gabriel's "In your eyes". Their good covers but just don't capture the real meaning of the songs.

I'll say this here like I almost always have to. Most people who listen to one version first doesn't like the other version as much. And most people just appreciate the original artist cause they wrote it and did the work get get it "finished". This is definitely more of a twangy version, but decent. I of course like the original better cause i heard it much b4 i heard this version :)

I like her voice better than Matt NAthonson's, It's very interesting to listen to the differences. I have this song on my ipod and I listen to it frequently, but I only just heard the original version. The inflections are different, and the Sing Sha la la sounds much more ... natural in this.
