@kennydeedee- just to correct any misinformation. The liberation procedure is not a cure, it works for some people, not for others, then maybe only for a few months till you may lose any improvements and may get worse
As far as upper cervical care, I'm a believer with some benefits I saw with my MS. I would encourage every single person to go see a UCC Dr.

several years ago, I had Sciatica. it was 24/7 excruciating pain & my leg was numb. 24 after my first adjustment the pain significantly decreased & a week later much feeling came back in my leg... medical doctors & regular chiropractors & spinal specialists told me that I would never heal & I would never run again... Upper-Cervical works & it's the best thing that most people with ailments never tried. maybe because it sounds too simple.
Chiropractic is just so awesome! I'm so proud of being a chiropractic doctor. Chiropractic has become so popular and sought after. The DC schools are packed and so is my office (500 pv/week @ 35 new patients/month).
Wow! Is it just me or is there perhaps a correlation with this chiropractic procedure & the under lying premise for Chronic Cerebro-Spinal Venous Insufficiency (CCSVI) being recently toted as the cause for MS.
Does anyone know if CCSVI has been bought to the attention of Montel?
@veganath The entire motive and process of chiropractic upper cervical procedure are to address arterial, veinous, and neurological pathways. Good question.
@JaguarSTR Multiple sclerosis is common in Canada, the U.S, & Northern Europe, but rare in Africa & Asia. When people migrate from a country of low MS incidence(which inevitably changes the way they live and eat), their risk for getting it increases. Many studies have investigated the environmental factors that could account for the difference in disease occurrence among various populations. The main factor appears to be the strongest contact we have with our environment: OUR DAILY FOOD INTAKE
Although wealthy countries generally have higher rates of MS there is one exception: JAPAN. Even though the Japanese live in a modern, industrialized country with all the stress, pollution, and smoking habits common to other industrialized nations, their rice-based diet is more characteristic of the foods consumed in poorer nations where MS is less common. The Japanese case provides strong evidence that a diet heavy in animal foods, not other "modern" scourges, may lay the foundation for MS.
@teves210 I would have hoped that if he had been liberated & with his considerable celebrity clout that he would be at the fore in advocating it, to help liberation therapy gain universal acceptance.
Is this treatment also able to correct significant malpositions about a few millimeters?
Since i had a fall on my head i can feel the atlas-bone on one side, but not on the other. Since then i have problems with concentration, headache, vertigo and so on. Anyone who can give me information?
You sound like a perfect canidate for this type of chiropractic. The research on the upper cervical technique is amazing. I am a chiropractic student and experienced this first hand at a seminar on upper cervical this past weekend. There are a handful of different sub-techniques in upper cervical like blair and NUCCA, but they all work amazingly. Please, do yourself a service and see one of these doctors, you won't regret it. Montel is a perfect example here!
some UCCs doc cant even find where C1 tp is. who would trust those docs for most delicate part of body? those graduate from chiro school without having proper adjusting skills(some thinks being able to make "Pop" sound is adjustment)
Not the UCCS which make difference in patinets. if i are to receive uccs, i would prefer one who master div and gone, palpation, and choose UCCS adjustment for some cases.
I found most of atlas sublaxations are due to muscles, ligamentus injuries and sometime structually caused by cranial misalignments. Most of cranial subluxation comes from sphenoid misalignment. even adjusting C1 with UCC wont do anything good until crainial bone is adjusted. C1 is going to be misaligned without adjusting cranial in most difficult cases.
It's wonderful that another one of the five Upper Cervical techniques is reaching media exposure. Upper Cervical Care is one of the fastest growing sciences being recognized in 2010 at the Jerusalem Conference on alternative health care options by European MD's. More info is available at GetWellGetHealthy com and locating a UC DC is easy at upcspine com.
I just read up on MS and the early symptoms sounds like what I had after I felt something in my throat shift 3 years ago. I just started seeing a Blair chiro and after my 2nd adjustment, my body is seriously aching but my jaws and etc are starting to relax and I'm kind of getting my curvature back Any ideas how to loosen knots in the muscle that formed from misalignment and when I'll start to see my shoulders and collar bones even out? One is higher than the other.
my shoulders and lower back is in a lot of pain after that 2nd adjustment to my c2 like my spine's trying to un-torque itself. Any advice on how to manage this like stretching exercises, yoga massages or is it a bad idea since I'm so early in my treatment??
@cmmnsense Retracing discomfort is a part of the body restoring health. You can view some CieAura pain chips on GetWellGetHealthy that help control the retracing discomfort. We've had success with pain lessening or leaving and even burn pain leaving as soon as chips were placed in area. No drugs so no side affects.
all dc's are taught to move vertebrae, including the upper neck . to infer, however, that all are taught what is necessary to clear nerve interference is misleading.
what does suprise me. I go to the chiropractor and not many of them relieve my headaches, when I good one comes along they actually adjust c1 c2 I feel better immediatelyl. some dc's dont adjust me there even though I am out
Yep.. I am thinking improper posture is the cause of MS... or the damage created from nerves being compressed, with inflammation surrounding them.. Question.. how does one properly re-align themselves when they don't have the means like motel? so more damage is not done????
Useing AOL search:CHIROPRACTIC multiple sclerosis and see what sites come up.. msrc website says MS and Chiropractic Treatments MS, Parkinson's Symptoms Reversed.
I doubt anything can be done once it is misalligned. It can only get worse, speaking from experience. You can try exercising proper posture, but once that atlas is out of place, it starts moving down your entire body.
There's no point in fearing it if you're proactive about it. I found out about the atlas 2 years after the fact. You can look at the upcspine site for doctors nearby. Most accept insurance I've heard.
@chiropractic47 Why would a GP refer someone with brain tumors to a Ear, Eyes and Throat guy instead of a surgeon TRAINED in that area? Upper Cervical Advocates refer specialty conditions to a UC DC whose received 3-5 yrs of additional training over the general DC who knows that the c1c2 area houses the 70 trillion nerves affecting the entire body. Chiropractic is a wonderful science, but saying that any chiropractor is skilled at realigning the atlas bone is erroneous. You do refer?
@rhonda741 I hope your kidding but know your not...of course I, along with most DC's who've attended a chiropractic school that instructs in upper cervical techniques produces well qualified DC's that most certainly can determine as well correct an upper cervical subluxation. I attended Life Chiro. Here we trained in atlas orthogonal, toggle recoil, etc. Get off your high horse and stop misrepresenting chiropractic as inept at what lies in its original design...upper cervical specific.
you seriously just gave me the greatest understanding on how im going to cure MS..youre exactly right..the disharmonically proportioned gravity distribution causes compression which makes the bodies automatic responses create heat and anti-bodies which try to attack the disharmony which eats away at the fatty tissues of the neuronets, electrophysiological neuron fatty tissues in the effected areas etc, prana , qi , ki etc..basically the sacred sciences can be of great wholistic benefit
maybe if we could somehow prove the gravity compression points are the same areas the body is attacking and eating away at that particular part of the electrophysiological fatty tissues etc...infrared cameras or sensors to measure to "hottest" parts of the body-spine due to inharmonically proportioned gravity distribtion..a bird cannot fly unless it uses harmony and proportion and MS is sort of like the body attacking "rejecting" the compressed areas because its job is to do so
No doubt the body can repair the damages as long as the nerves have not died out ... I know I have perm nerve damage at this point, and it is slowly spreading down areas. I totally believe MS is self induced, yet progressive.. due to me not being in aliment, and having areas compressed. there has got to be a way to figure out how to find the root of the problem so the body can repair itself, the muscles and constricted vessels, before they kill off the nerves. PAIN = Something very very wrong
i would say Adjustment On c1, c2, occiput work!. I had a technically the first adjustment on C1 in my life last week. I asked a diversified guy to adjust only atlas. he did ajustment, and I asked if i can rest for a while, he said, "yeah that's better. I kept resting for 20 min. later realizeed my blockage of nose are gone, and increase the range of motion in my neck, plus stiffness is gone! he said, "Every technique works as long as the person is proficient in doing the right thing, place, time
@wonderfultiger Would you go to a GP for brain surgery? Why wouldn't you want an experienced, trained UC DC insteadof a diversified DC touch the most intricate part of your body? Although symptoms may decrease when some 'guesses' where to place the atlas, which of the 70 trillion nerves did they rearrange that will result in other symptoms later? The body is so intricate, that it takes an average of 8 yrs to reflect nerve damage from trauma. upcspine and GetWellGetHealthy educate on UC care.
Upper Cervical works, 2 years ago I was on 7 meds, suffered from depression, anxiety, high blood pressure and a valve in my heart that would not close. It's all gone, no meds, cardiologists can't figure out why my heart is working properly, just went to get new glasses because having problems seeing with them on, don't need glasses anymore. My doctors' receptionist had MS, not anymore!!! If you are suffering, this is your answer, bless you!!
I am a freshman student in chiropractic college, and from what I have heard and felt is that most of students and DC dont try to understand the concept of upper cervical. I understand that the head is heavy and atlas is most likely to be misaligned. and if atlas misaligned, also vertebrates below are gonna try to balance, and likely to be misaligned.
wonderfultiger: look at your CNS neurology. A C1 sublux can impact any of those tracts in the MO. Sadly, as an UC DC, Im getting many LB cases referred in because the pervious DC only manipulated the LB. A wedged L5 can have its origin from a UC subluxation.
7-16-09. Atlas orthogonal treatment changed my life 7-15-09. I limped/ poor coordination/severe neuralgia (nerve pain) in my left tricep/left ear. I saw 11 doctors, including two of chiropractors. Hallelujah! The limping issues were from a bad atlas placement from whiplash. The severe neuralgia pain/balance issues were to blame on a misaligned rib and C2. Working on both, the neuralgia vastly improved the first day. I slept four hours in a row for first time since 3-13-09. Dont ever give up!
does anyone know how effective or not this is for head tremor, neck spasming? I have been told I have essential tremor 26 years ago and now 3 different dystonia diagnosis as of recently (basically cervical dystonia). I have been researching upper cervical for 1.5 weeks and realize there are different upper cervical types of treatments. i just dont wanna get ripped or be a guinea pig again, like I was for the neuro community for the last 20 or more years. thanks!
i have researched dbs for 2 years belong to a few online groups and been denied by 2 doctors for it. too risky was one opinion and not bad off enough was the other. odd thing was i shook so bad i couldnt write. i have had zero help in 26 years of this crap! i am trying for gamma knife but no ball rolling on that either.
All I read & the experts I consulted, (& I have a highly respected specialist who tells it like it is), agree. Yes, it is possible to die from a complication caused my MS but it is unlikely. Only a rare few MS patients live a significantly shorter life then their counterparts w/o MS. THAT is info from credible sources, not a talk show host desperately trying to hang onto fame. I respect opinions that differ but these are still mine. Fear-mongering will NEVER create awareness.
In your opinion, can a MS expert/specialist truly be an expert/specialist if they don't know where it comes from or what it truly is (knowing facts, not a belief)? MS is "believed (uncertain; however, studies would lead them to believe)" to be an autoimmune disease.
Continued: If MS is only "believed" to be what it is, who is the greater expert/specialist, the person living with it (the person experiencing the multiple symptoms; You) or the Specialist, Experts, Journalist and or Scientist who have been looking into the disease since the 1400's (Lydwina of Schieden, Dutch patron Saint of Ice Skaters)?
Points all well taken. I love a world where people can simply agree to disagree.
Also, I think part of my feelings about all this is some degree of cynicism (recovering attorney) and some degree of denial. My MS can be a pain but it could also be MUCH worse. It is progressing now, I think, but is doing so very slowly. Who knows how I'll feel if/when my circumstances change dramatically. In the meantime, I am hopeful and prayerful that we will see a cure in our lives.
You are right - this may all stem from something else entirely. Possibly the deep fear struck in my heart by everything I heard or read from Montel just after my dx and before Meeting w/my specialist, going to my local library & doing my own research.
I went to my NMSS local chapter in terror after Montel's declaration that MS almost cost him his life (the hug?). They cringed at his name. Per them, the "awareness" he brings isn't really awareness at all b/c he does not tell the truth
I hear what you are saying; but, I can't agree (which is ok). However, from my personal experience with the aforementioned treatment, I am: moving a little faster (just a little), getting up faster, walking better (already), standing longer (just a little), my balance is improving (the "drunken walk" is improving) and I can close my eyes with less balance issues. I am only on my 3rd treatment.
Just standard chiropractor treatment. The poping and cracking sounds on my neck and spine were a shock at first but it's pain free and the cracking noise is just the air is released from the cushioning material between your vertebrae as your spinal column is being twisted.
General chiropractors, I don't really know how I feel about them since I've never been to one. I suppose it's like cracking your knuckles. It doesn't necessarily do anything but offer temporary relief.
drsmith16, might I recommend the addition of a good psychiatrist to your team? Knowing that both interferon & MS can cause severe clinical depression, I enlisted the help of a great doctor. Sure, I spent my first few months post-diagnosis pretty weepy but now that only happens on my rare Bad G-d Days when I think "why me?" Usually coincides with PMS.
Continued response to rudybeardog comment: Montel does not appear to be deliberately spreading misinformation for sympathy. He is sharing information that will assist individuals living with MS, their families and caregivers. Montels testimony inspired me to further research Upper Cervical Chiropractic Care. I began treatment 4 days ago and after my initial treatment, I saw results.
Continued response to rudybeardog comment: Like you, I too suffer from MS. One thing you should know is that we become emotional (crying big crocodile tears) at the drop of a dime! Do some research on the nervous system and you will find out why we are so emotional.
In Response to rudybeardog comment: In Montel's defense, he is raising awareness by making it his "duty" to educate individuals living with/without MS. You appear to have some animosity towards Montel. Your comment seemed to have stemmed from other topic's previously discussed; not necessarily this one.
Dr. Alf Brieg (sp?), a neurosurgeon "cured" MS into remission in 14 of his patients by surgically restoring the normal curve in the neck and reducing the tension on the spinal cord and brain stem. Some chiropractors are trained in doing this non-surgically.
Montel, I hope you see this. You are not helping anyone with MS when you go on Oprah, cry big crocodile tears, and make claims that a) MS is fatal and you are fighting for your life and b) make claims like this one. I have MS and it is my responsibility and duty to not only raise awareness of MS but educate about it as well. Your deliberate spreading of misinformation looks like you just want some sympathy.
Thanks Montel but no thanks. Try a little honesty and stop spreading lies.
your "responsibility and duty"? ...lies only with helping yourself. When you've figured out how to help yourself, help others, rather than casting doubt and speaking negatively on others who've found help.
Anytime you find a source of stress(whether its from food, physical, environmental or mental) and reduce or eliminate it your not curing anything necessarily but you are reducing stress on the nervous system. This will have a positive effect on our overall health and certainly neurological disease. This is why so many different therapies can be effective in making us feel better. If Montel's upper neck was restricted than his therapy resulted in better movement and better nerve function.
everyones ms is different u asshole, for some it is deadly. i just had my right kidney swell up for no damn apparent reason thats scary and if u dont think thats deadly open your eyes.
my neck personally has been out of line for 10 months, and since then i have developed ms symptoms, it wont go back on its own even after i got my back put back in place but a good chiropractort, i need this atlas treatment, everytime turn my head to the right my neck clicks on my vertabrae...
No matter what you think, Chiropractors belong to a profession that has been around over 110 years. People like Montel Williams shared his experience and how Chiropractors helped him. Chiropractors spend 8 years of professional education and EARN a degree in the Doctorate of Chiropractic profession. Medical doctors are great if a person is in a crisis situation.....But Chiropractors focuses on optimum health. Just like the law of gravity, Chiropractic works whether you believe it or not.
I think it is a mistake to associate Upper Cervical correction with "chiropractics". They are two completely different fields. Upper cervical treats the source cause of why the spine is mis-aligning, while standard chiropractics treats the symptoms, and 'snap, crackles, and pops' the mis-aligned vertebrae which often simply go out again and again until the source problem, the upper cervical atlas, is corrected.
Good point, but perhaps you're generalizing I would think. I agree with you on that full spine diversified is not much different than what an osteopath or any other manipulator would do, BUT I doubt one can deny the effects of the sacrum on health (as well as the atlas, of course)
Hey everybody! ma999999999 says: Vacccinations have "inert" substances.
Regardless what you believe is the etiology behind autism, vaccinations certainly contain both "inert" and organic substances. Besides containing neurotoxic stabilizers such as mercury, and now aluminum, vaccinatons contain either attenuated (weakened) or live virus (protein).
Does this sound "inert" to you guys? Correct! It doesn't sound "inert".
"I f any of you haters want to know what scientific literature says about chiropractors go to my channel DrJDavid. Before you try to comment be aware that you may need more than two neurons firing at the same time to comprehend the message.I challenge ANY to defy the truth. Bring it on Mr. P.T.M.D. whatever education you think you have. I 'll eat you guys for lunch. Anybody can have an opinion. Treating opinions as facts is ridiculous. Come check it out.....I DARE YOU"
Ya, looked like the editors on Montel's show fucked up and labeled Kerr as an MD instead of a DC. That's an insult to DC's to have it seem like some dumb MD could heal Montel's MS!
we all know that chiropractors could not get into allopathic or osteopathic medical school, so I would think it's an insult to MDs to title someone an MD who has not gone through the ringer of becoming one.
I don't see Montel praising any MD for curing his Multiple Sclerosis. Since no MD has ever cured that disease. LOL
.
By the way, considering chiropractors go to school for 8 years too.. I'm not sure what you're referring to about "not gone through the ringer". Methinks you're blathering about shit you have no knowledge on :)
MDs go through residency training...this is after medical school for 3-7 years...chiropractors go through 4 years of college and 4 years of chiro school and that's it. MDs have 4 years of college, 4 years of medical school + their residency so I do know what I'm talking about. No MD has ever cured MS, but guess what, a chiropractor hasn't cured it either, infact a chiropractor has never cured any disease, it's all hocus pocus.
That's nonsence. Many Chiropractic programs don't require a BA or BS, and there is no "residency" training, just a mock-up clincal thrown together at the end designed to put the final mucous-glaze on the soon-to-be walking shit that is a DC.
a chiropractor is a bullshit artist by the looks of this video and all the others ive seen on youtube. They shouldnt be called doctors by any stretch of the imagination.
Well "BigSteve" I hate to inform you as someone having been through both medical school and about to finish my Doctor of Chiropractic degree that the biggest difference between the two is philosophy and perspective of looking at the same organism. MDs are there to treat sickness and symptoms specifically. Medicine is fine for what it is, but for actual health care and overall wellness Chiropractors are the way to go hands down. But judging from your comment, I doubt you've done your homework.
Yeah... You're wrong. I am currently in chiropractic school. I feel that I and the majority of my classmates have EVERY BIT of intelligence and motivation to become M.D.s. We just feel that chiropractic has just as much to offer the healthcare world as medical science. If you believe that chiropractic is a phony science, I can show you many articles from reputable and peer reviewed scientific journals that could probably sway your opinion, but if you want to remain ignorant, it won't bother me
I've gone to Chiro's for over 40 years and they have done so much GOOD for me, so many times I can't count.
I've been fixed when I've had very severe back pain. One time I could hardly get out of bed or stand up and was terrified I'd need surgery. My Chiro Dr Danny actually met me at his office on his day off and I was at a wedding dancing the next day...
If you make sure you get a good caring Chiro, there is nothing more valuable for your health...
Excuse me, but to first of all to become a doctor, means to do no harm to the human body. How many M.D.'s do harm everyday. Look at how much their medical malpractice is??? Chiropractors live up to the oath of doing no harm and they are in no way comparable to a physical therapists. Do your research before making a comment that you obviously have no idea about.
The fact that you honestly believe that autism, a developmental disorder of the brain, is caused by the injection of inert viral material designed to prevent disease confirms your medical ignorance.
Ive had this procedure done and im a beleiver. I suffered from sciatic pain shooting down my left leg for years and nothing worked until I was adjusted with this method. They found my atlas out of alignment casuing my left leg to be shorter.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I think you need to get your MD's cock out of your fagot ass. Actually keep going to MDs because they kill 250K people per year. Maybe they will kill you. I hope so.
I had upper cervical done after 15 years of chronic pain and now I have been pain free for 3 years.
I got lied to by MDs. I was ripped off and jerked around. I spent 1000's out of pocket to those charlatans and out of desperation I went to a DC. After the very first session most of my pain was gone. I wept tears of joy.
You usfdude are a fucking retard. You are clueless about how the spine functions the same as all MDs. So all I can say to prick lickers like you is FUCK YOU!
It IS a big fucking deal. Medical doctors are healthcare professionals who save lives. "DCs" are fradulant quacks who pray upon medical ignorance and promote nonsence treatment for false and nonexistant diseases (ie, subluxations).
"DCs" are fradulant quacks who pray upon medical ignorance and promote nonsence treatment for false and nonexistant diseases (ie, subluxations)."
Well, prove it. Do your research, and you will find many cases that mainstream medicine gave up on and told the patient to learn to "live with it." Chiropratic cannot hurt, it can only help. And don't pull the whole "placebo effect" or "it is all in your head" excuse, either. If you have a health problem you cannot "think your way out of it."
Chiro's are quacks, they told my dad his ruptured disc was cancer. Problems with spinal alignment are usually caused by muscular tension (muscles pull on bones). Tension is caused by stress, which alone can be cured by seeing someone, regardless of treatment. Don't believe in the placebo effect? Then disregard 100 years of psychological research. As for Montel, the name of the diesease is "Muscular dystrophy." Of course he's going to have spine problems.
Yes, and he also said that it was "almost an instant relief of some of the pain I was having." So, if the placebo effect applies here, he was just making his problem up and telling himself, "it is all in my head," without realizing it? Please, give me a break!
No, I do believe in the placebo effect (and I can relate to that)--but that does not apply here...nor does it apply to the majority of cases that mainstream medicine has given up on. Like I said, do your research, and you will hear about people that have been saved by chiropratic. It is not "all in their head!"
BTW, it sounds like your Dad went to an incompetent chiro...did he actually do any tests to say it was cancer? Most likely not, you need an MD for that.
MDs kill 250,000 people each year according to the CDC you cum licking doctor blower. I hope you have a failed back surgery and then kick your ass that you did not take care of your spine you fucking moron.
Chiropractic is indeed safe & also worth the try. The problem with multiple sclerosis is that it is episodic, & symptoms often improve suddenly with or without treatments. It is very difficult to say if a therapy is effective without a clinical trial & to my knowledge there is no clinical trial in a peer reviewed journal demonstrating improvement with upper cervical technique on MS. It should therefore be described as experimental. I've seen it work great for some, but opposite for others.
I've been struggling with pretty much the entire spectrum of chronic fatigue symptoms for about 8 months now. The muscle and joint pain seems to have started after I had hurt my neck pretty badly doing BJJ - like my body just stopped repairing itself. I've considered seeing a chiro but have put that off to explore other avenues. I would like to see a UC/AO specialist just to see if it helps, but I don't think insurance will pay for it. How expensive is it?
Check with your insurance, they should cover a portion of it. When I was first fixed, it was about $600 (x-rays included with no insurance money yet). So if you get this one thing done, it will probably only cost your between $100 and $200 (though, I am sure it depends what state you are in; I am in VA).
between the skull, or occiput, and the 1st vertebra, or atlas, there is not the same degree of help from bony structure to prevent displacement. the brain stem fills this part of the tunnel that is your spinal canal. when there is displacement, there is direct pressure on the brain stem. this accounts for the mulitude of symptoms and disorders that can be positively affected by upper cervical attention.
if you curl your fingers to meet your thumb and place one hand over the other making a long tunnel to look through, then move your top hand just a little in any direction, you will notice the tunnel just became narrower. this is what happens when any veretbra is displaced over the other. in most of the spine the vertebra are held in position by the shape of the bones as well as ligaments and muscles.
this is very similar to NUCCA. The same "language" but a different "dialect" so to speak. AO uses an instrument (percussive force) whereas NUCCA uses the hand as the instrument. There are some other differences, but generally I would feel comfortable with either technique.
I have had problems with for years, pain at the top of the neck so bad after a weeks work all I could do is lay in the recliner and take muscle relaxers and pain medicine, I went to neurosurgeons, physical therapy. I had an MRI and many x-rays and was told I had arthritis by one doctor an another said I didn't. I am now seeing and upper cervical chiropractor and with 4 weeks of treatment I am fishing on the weekends and sleeping better and have no pain in my neck and have stopped the pills.
I found out that Atlas/Occipital was the source of my problems and I lost three years of my life to severe fibromyalgia/myofascial syndrome symptoms. I have been unable to work for a year, and I have recently discovered this info and I was baffled on finding out that a subluxation is the cause. I had mucous, thyroid, nerve pain signals, memory loss, etc. and this was all cause a nerve was being pinched and the problem became more severe!
Take a spine that has the disks .suspend it in the air with one finger on each of the wings of the atlas, this is the transverse process. Tilt it slightly in any direction and the whole spine will twist. Therefore when the atlas is in a neutral position the rest of the spine will do its best to find this neutral position. The more the degeneration the less it can. The sooner one has an adjustment the better it is for the whole body and brain as they are intrinsically connected.
Bitchtalking another healthcare field does not make yors any better... it will just ashame your coleagues, since the'll how small-minded you are. This goes for all those for and against physiotherapy and chiroprctics.
Im a physiotherapist, and I believe in manipulation/mobilization tecniques. Once you study the human system, you begin to understant how things are related and how one area can complement the other.
ZicoCirola Don't criticizes this one iota I know what is good when I see it because I lead from knowledge. I am not ignorant at all on this subject. I am an extremely knowledgeable patient. I am not a passive patient.

JaguarSTR 1 year ago
@JaguarSTR Multiple sclerosis is common in Canada, the U.S, & Northern Europe, but rare in Africa & Asia. When people migrate from a country of low MS incidence(which inevitably changes the way they live and eat), their risk for getting it increases. Many studies have investigated the environmental factors that could account for the difference in disease occurrence among various populations. The main factor appears to be the strongest contact we have with our environment: OUR DAILY FOOD INTAKE
veganath 1 year ago
Although wealthy countries generally have higher rates of MS there is one exception: JAPAN. Even though the Japanese live in a modern, industrialized country with all the stress, pollution, and smoking habits common to other industrialized nations, their rice-based diet is more characteristic of the foods consumed in poorer nations where MS is less common. The Japanese case provides strong evidence that a diet heavy in animal foods, not other "modern" scourges, may lay the foundation for MS.

Tequnique doesnt matter. person does.
wonderfultiger 1 year ago
@wonderfultiger Exactly! Thank you for pointing out for rhonda that it lies in the beholder to practice good chiropractic, not just the technique.
chiropractic47 1 year ago
I found most of atlas sublaxations are due to muscles, ligamentus injuries and sometime structually caused by cranial misalignments. Most of cranial subluxation comes from sphenoid misalignment. even adjusting C1 with UCC wont do anything good until crainial bone is adjusted. C1 is going to be misaligned without adjusting cranial in most difficult cases.

I doubt anything can be done once it is misalligned. It can only get worse, speaking from experience. You can try exercising proper posture, but once that atlas is out of place, it starts moving down your entire body.

chiropractic47 2 years ago
@chiropractic47 Why would a GP refer someone with brain tumors to a Ear, Eyes and Throat guy instead of a surgeon TRAINED in that area? Upper Cervical Advocates refer specialty conditions to a UC DC whose received 3-5 yrs of additional training over the general DC who knows that the c1c2 area houses the 70 trillion nerves affecting the entire body. Chiropractic is a wonderful science, but saying that any chiropractor is skilled at realigning the atlas bone is erroneous. You do refer?
rhonda741 1 year ago
@rhonda741 I hope your kidding but know your not...of course I, along with most DC's who've attended a chiropractic school that instructs in upper cervical techniques produces well qualified DC's that most certainly can determine as well correct an upper cervical subluxation. I attended Life Chiro. Here we trained in atlas orthogonal, toggle recoil, etc. Get off your high horse and stop misrepresenting chiropractic as inept at what lies in its original design...upper cervical specific.

you seriously just gave me the greatest understanding on how im going to cure MS..youre exactly right..the disharmonically proportioned gravity distribution causes compression which makes the bodies automatic responses create heat and anti-bodies which try to attack the disharmony which eats away at the fatty tissues of the neuronets, electrophysiological neuron fatty tissues in the effected areas etc, prana , qi , ki etc..basically the sacred sciences can be of great wholistic benefit
sn1pe352 2 years ago
maybe if we could somehow prove the gravity compression points are the same areas the body is attacking and eating away at that particular part of the electrophysiological fatty tissues etc...infrared cameras or sensors to measure to "hottest" parts of the body-spine due to inharmonically proportioned gravity distribtion..a bird cannot fly unless it uses harmony and proportion and MS is sort of like the body attacking "rejecting" the compressed areas because its job is to do so
sn1pe352 2 years ago
No doubt the body can repair the damages as long as the nerves have not died out ... I know I have perm nerve damage at this point, and it is slowly spreading down areas. I totally believe MS is self induced, yet progressive.. due to me not being in aliment, and having areas compressed. there has got to be a way to figure out how to find the root of the problem so the body can repair itself, the muscles and constricted vessels, before they kill off the nerves. PAIN = Something very very wrong

@sn1pe352 Your proposal is valid

i would say Adjustment On c1, c2, occiput work!. I had a technically the first adjustment on C1 in my life last week. I asked a diversified guy to adjust only atlas. he did ajustment, and I asked if i can rest for a while, he said, "yeah that's better. I kept resting for 20 min. later realizeed my blockage of nose are gone, and increase the range of motion in my neck, plus stiffness is gone! he said, "Every technique works as long as the person is proficient in doing the right thing, place, time
wonderfultiger 2 years ago 2
@wonderfultiger Would you go to a GP for brain surgery? Why wouldn't you want an experienced, trained UC DC insteadof a diversified DC touch the most intricate part of your body? Although symptoms may decrease when some 'guesses' where to place the atlas, which of the 70 trillion nerves did they rearrange that will result in other symptoms later? The body is so intricate, that it takes an average of 8 yrs to reflect nerve damage from trauma. upcspine and GetWellGetHealthy educate on UC care.

I am a freshman student in chiropractic college, and from what I have heard and felt is that most of students and DC dont try to understand the concept of upper cervical. I understand that the head is heavy and atlas is most likely to be misaligned. and if atlas misaligned, also vertebrates below are gonna try to balance, and likely to be misaligned.
wonderfultiger 2 years ago
wonderfultiger: look at your CNS neurology.

Fear-mongering will NEVER create awareness.
rudybeardog 2 years ago
In your opinion, can a MS expert/specialist truly be an expert/specialist if they don't know where it comes from or what it truly is (knowing facts, not a belief)? MS is "believed (uncertain; however, studies would lead them to believe)" to be an autoimmune disease.
drsmith16 2 years ago 2
Continued: If MS is only "believed" to be what it is, who is the greater expert/specialist, the person living with it (the person experiencing the multiple symptoms; You) or the Specialist, Experts, Journalist and or Scientist who have been looking into the disease since the 1400's (Lydwina of Schieden, Dutch patron Saint of Ice Skaters)?
drsmith16 2 years ago
Points all well taken. I love a world where people can simply agree to disagree.
Also, I think part of my feelings about all this is some degree of cynicism (recovering attorney) and some degree of denial. My MS can be a pain but it could also be MUCH worse. It is progressing now, I think, but is doing so very slowly. Who knows how I'll feel if/when my circumstances change dramatically. In the meantime, I am hopeful and prayerful that we will see a cure in our lives.
I wish you well.

I went to my NMSS local chapter in terror after Montel's declaration that MS almost cost him his life (the hug?). They cringed at his name. Per them, the "awareness" he brings isn't really awareness at all b/c he does not tell the truth

Dr. Alf Brieg (sp?), a neurosurgeon "cured" MS into remission in 14 of his patients by surgically restoring the normal curve in the neck and reducing the tension on the spinal cord and brain stem. Some chiropractors are trained in doing this non-surgically.

chiro123 2 years ago
Anytime you find a source of stress(whether its from food, physical, environmental or mental) and reduce or eliminate it your not curing anything necessarily but you are reducing stress on the nervous system. This will have a positive effect on our overall health and certainly neurological disease. This is why so many different therapies can be effective in making us feel better. If Montel's upper neck was restricted than his therapy resulted in better movement and better nerve function.

you are so completely misguided its amazing. upper cervical techniques STARTED with chiropractic
there are schools dedicated to upper cervical techniques alone. Study before you misspeak.
The entire philosophy of chiropractic is based on studying the CAUSE and not treating the sumptoms which is
what MEDICAL DOCTORS do. And by the way, as long as you move, your bones will move; your muscles will move and
potentially cause malalignments. Malalignments are not caused by chiropractic care.

DrHopes 2 years ago
Good point, but perhaps you're generalizing I would think. I agree with you on that full spine diversified is not much different than what an osteopath or any other manipulator would do, BUT I doubt one can deny the effects of the sacrum on health (as well as the atlas, of course)

Good come back. No matter what you call me or say, it still doesn't change the fact that chiros are quacks. It is not the practice of science.

seemed pretty scientific to me

I bet it did...

So all I can say to prick lickers like you is FUCK YOU!

lol, listen this Grandpa talk, i think he missed a sponge bath.

Chiropractic is great!!!
You? SUCK!

Did you see after his name it said MD? Thats bs, chiros are not medical doctors.
usfdude 3 years ago 4
Ok, so it was a typo, big fucking deal. You are not the first person to point that out, by the way.
BCCButters711 3 years ago
It IS a big fucking deal. Medical doctors are healthcare professionals who save lives. "DCs" are fradulant quacks who pray upon medical ignorance and promote nonsence treatment for false and nonexistant diseases (ie, subluxations).
mas9999999999 3 years ago
"DCs" are fradulant quacks who pray upon medical ignorance and promote nonsence treatment for false and nonexistant diseases (ie, subluxations)."
Well, prove it. Do your research, and you will find many cases that mainstream medicine gave up on and told the patient to learn to "live with it." Chiropratic cannot hurt, it can only help. And don't pull the whole "placebo effect" or "it is all in your head" excuse, either. If you have a health problem you cannot "think your way out of it."
BCCButters711 3 years ago
Chiro's are quacks, they told my dad his ruptured disc was cancer. Problems with spinal alignment are usually caused by muscular tension (muscles pull on bones). Tension is caused by stress, which alone can be cured by seeing someone, regardless of treatment. Don't believe in the placebo effect? Then disregard 100 years of psychological research. As for Montel, the name of the diesease is "Muscular dystrophy." Of course he's going to have spine problems.
BrabBrabus 3 years ago
I'm sorry, MS, even better, a disease that fucks with the nervous system.
BrabBrabus 3 years ago
Yes, and he also said that it was "almost an instant relief of some of the pain I was having." So, if the placebo effect applies here, he was just making his problem up and telling himself, "it is all in my head," without realizing it? Please, give me a break!
BCCButters711 3 years ago
No, I do believe in the placebo effect (and I can relate to that)--but that does not apply here...nor does it apply to the majority of cases that mainstream medicine has given up on. Like I said, do your research, and you will hear about people that have been saved by chiropratic. It is not "all in their head!"
BTW, it sounds like your Dad went to an incompetent chiro...did he actually do any tests to say it was cancer? Most likely not, you need an MD for that.
BCCButters711 3 years ago
MDs kill 250,000 people each year according to the CDC you cum licking doctor blower. I hope you have a failed back surgery and then kick your ass that you did not take care of your spine you fucking moron.
Balldez 3 years ago
Shhh. Be quiet Grandpa or your kids might take away your internet privileges! Did you forget your crazy pills again?

You really need a new come-back dude.

You are a fucking retard. A subluxation is a dislocation. Read a book you fucking moron. The term is also used by MDs. mas9999 needs to get cancer.

Grandma, is that you?

Chiropractic is indeed safe & also worth the try. The problem with multiple sclerosis is that it is episodic, & symptoms often improve suddenly with or without treatments. It is very difficult to say if a therapy is effective without a clinical trial & to my knowledge there is no clinical trial in a peer reviewed journal demonstrating improvement with upper cervical technique on MS. It should therefore be described as experimental. I've seen it work great for some, but opposite for others.

Hi guys,
I've been struggling with pretty much the entire spectrum of chronic fatigue symptoms for about 8 months now.
Gonzalez140 3 years ago
Check with your insurance, they should cover a portion of it. When I was first fixed, it was about $600 (x-rays included with no insurance money yet). So if you get this one thing done, it will probably only cost your between $100 and $200 (though, I am sure it depends what state you are in; I am in VA).

between the skull, or occiput, and the 1st vertebra, or atlas, there is not the same degree of help from bony structure to prevent displacement. the brain stem fills this part of the tunnel that is your spinal canal. when there is displacement, there is direct pressure on the brain stem. this accounts for the mulitude of symptoms and disorders that can be positively affected by upper cervical attention.
goddesspurple 3 years ago
if you curl your fingers to meet your thumb and place one hand over the other making a long tunnel to look through, then move your top hand just a little in any direction, you will notice the tunnel just became narrower. this is what happens when any veretbra is displaced over the other. in most of the spine the vertebra are held in position by the shape of the bones as well as ligaments and muscles.
goddesspurple 3 years ago
is this like nucca treatment??
ishtrice 3 years ago
It is basically the same thing--except a machine is used. I think in NUCCA, the same small force is used with the chiropractor's hands.
BCCButters711 3 years ago
this is very similar to NUCCA.

Magicmanny 3 years ago
Take a spine that has the disks .suspend it in the air with one finger on each of the wings of the atlas, this is the transverse process. Tilt it slightly in any direction and the whole spine will twist. Therefore when the atlas is in a neutral position the rest of the spine will do its best to find this neutral position. The more the degeneration the less it can. The sooner one has an adjustment the better it is for the whole body and brain as they are intrinsically connected.

There are many ignorant individuals here.
My advice to the ignorant: Read.
