Hi,

It cannot take photos while recording. The automatic focus sucks. I used Sony Vegas to edit and After Effects for color grading. The 1080p sucks because it's at 20 fps.

I used only the built in tools the create this. The design was done in Photoshop and then animated in AE using simple key frames for animation and a few masks. Maybe I will do a tutorial one day, I'll let you know :)

It is post production. I used a curve adjustment and masked it using an ellipse.

Hi and thank you! You can get a decent look with the kit lens, but I would recommend at least a 50mm 1.8 to get a shallow depth of field (around 150 Canadian $). My 30mm opens at 1.4 which let's enter a lot more light than your 18-55. My 10-20mm is also much wider (for the skateboard shots). Good luck!

Did you ever shoot with a real video camera? It helps! Try shooting using angles we don't see often too... that's all I can think of right now!
