  • Ur not right no no

  • @bigfamman14

Not right about what... like fucking a girl up the ass when she says NO? That kind of "not right" or like I'm saying something that is "not right" in the video?

  • For EDC purposes like cutting shit open, opening boxes and mail, and just overalll edc shit, would you reccoment the para2 or the manix 2?

  • @billyhirvine09

Well I recommend either one of them highly, and either one of them would excel at EDC tasks, however for me personally I slightly prefer the Para 2 overall. Either one you get you'd be getting a great blade though.

  • benchmade is just like harley davidson, over-priced and under-enginered

  • @TheTater1984

LMAO! Maybe that's why they make a Harley Davidson line of knives too, HAHA!

I'm more of a Yamaha or Suzuki man myself... something like the YZF-R1 would suit me just fine! =)

  • just telling it like it is, love that about you/nothing fancy

  • @teyacapan

Well thank you, I appreciate it.

I don't like to recommend something I have reservations about myself.

However if I love it, you'll hear me loving it a lot, HAHA.

  • Out of curiosity, with your education are you able to determine without testing whether when the knife is under a load, say a downward stab into some rough leather with some force pushing the blade toward your hand, if the omega fails, is the knife going to close up on your hand, or will the friction on the lock bar keep the thing from closing until the load subsides? I'd be interested to know.

  • @Hydra572

Well according to what I know about mechanics and forces and such, here's my opinion...

I think if you're pointing the knife downward it will keep the Axis bar engaged to an extent due to simple principles of gravity... but one you start introducing force to the equation, well then it greatly depends on which way the force is exerted. Since the Axis is a cylindrical design then is would eventually be overcame by force, but then again you have the channel in which...

    cont'd

  • @Hydra572

... the Axis bar "rides" that may be able to offer a bit more support. That is to say, the Axis might "sandwich" itself between the frame and the blade tang and become pinched in there just enough to keep your fingers safe... however I wouldn't want to rely on that as a rule. Nothing mechanical is foolproof and as a mechanism's functionality decrease... the more it decreases, the more it is functionally unstable. That IS a rule.

So I guess my answer would be...

    cont'd

  • @Hydra572

... you just can't be sure unless you could predict every variable that could occur with the forces exerted.

If the force was exerted in such a way to push the blade upward (into the stop pin) then you'd be OK... but if it was exerted in a way that biases the blade toward closing then you are at the complete mercy of whether or not the Axis bar can stay forward with the help of gravity and/or being pinched in there, with not other mechanism in tact to keep the bar forward.

  • @Hydra572

To be 100% honest with you... I would not trust the Axis bar merely based on gravity and friction alone. I would want a mechanism in tact to bias the bar forward at all times under any "hard use"... I.E. the omega springs... which in my opinion are not a great design for durability under stress. Of course the stress on the omegas doesn't come from using the blade... it comes from actuating the Axis bar backward and back forward again. A spring does not "wear out" from...

  • @Hydra572

... being compressed for a long period of time or not. It breaks because of the action of compressing and decompressing, then eventually it snaps due to stress fractures.

Sorry for the rant... but that's why I don't buy any more Axis lock honestly. I think the Axis bar is great... but needs a better spring system like on the caged ball. couple of coil springs (or something similar) pushing forward on an Axis bar would be very strong!

  • @X4CTO Wow, thanks for the long response. Honestly that is sort of a bummer. The axis always seemed a little over complicated to me, I never understood why use it instead of a back lock, liner lock, or frame lock. I understand Spyderco's lock more, as it lets you remove handle liners, but the Axis can't even do that. I had always assumed that the axis lock was actuated by a coil spring, as it seems stupid that it wouldn't be. I suppose I should reconsider purchasing a Benchmade Bedlam.

  • @Hydra572

You're welcome, glad to do it. =)

Well if you really like the Bedlam then I don't see why you should not go for it. Just be aware that you might have to send it in for new Omegas one day. I did love the Bedlam auto I had awhile back (did a review of it too) but after I kept having issues with the Axis locks I decided to trade it away before that one was a victim as well. I just wish Benchmade would do more liner locks, frame locks and lock backs, because I love their blades.

  • @X4CTO Continued, or, from what I see in that griptilian, it seems that if I had the guts to do the custom work, I could cut a channel into the handles, and do a little addition to the liners which would allow you to throw a coil spring in... Hm... I'll have to consider trying to do this on a cheaper Benchmade.

  • @Hydra572

I think that would be excellent with a coil spring indeed. Like I said, the Axis crossbar itself is very durable... it's just those dinky little omega springs, HAHA.

I would be very interested to see if you do decide to custom work it. =)

I do love Benchmade's blade steels, a lot of their handles and their designs honestly.

I currently have all my BM balis and my BM 760 LFTi that I love... but no omegas in them!

  • Good vid , I have a Griptilion I didn't know it had that kind of a spring! I can't wait to get the manix 2!!

  • @TheDmc311

Thank you, I appreciate you watching it.

The Manix 2 is one of my favorite EDC's currently, next to the Millies and Para 2's of course! I really love my Manix 2 lightweight too, hope they do more of those in different colors with the BD1 blade steel. I've been evaluating that steel and so far so good!

  • No shhit. I like it. I agree w the lesson about physics. X4cto, beware of the halfwise, they are everywhere.

  • @BillyJoeJimBob55

Thank you, I appreciate you watching.

LOL! Unfortunately they seem to be indeed.

  • ya my axis spring crapped out on me

  • @mudjerry

Sorry to hear that my friend... that makes one more. =\

  • Very thoughtful explanation of the axis lock. Taking the knife apart to show the inner workings was great. Keep it up X4cto. I would like to hear more "rambling" about your engineering background.

    Stay safe.

  • @RayH42

Thank you my friend, I appreciate it.

Well I can't talk too much about what I do specifically to be honest... I work with sensitive material (security systems and what have you) but I could definitely talk about some of the non-detail oriented stuff I suppose. I don't like to disclose a lot about my work or my background... don't want to sound like I'm just talking about myself too much you know... but if people are interested then I might.

  • @X4CTO I know I would be interested in hearing you ramble about any portion of your work without giving away any "top secret stuff". I would be interested in what type of work you do and I'm sure many others would be, as well.

  • @RayH42

Well I appreciate your interest my friend... I might have to make a video like that in the future indeed. I can speak of WHAT I do, just not HOW or WHERE I do it without potentially compromising the trust of my clients.

  • Nice review. I just got mine in the other day. This thing is beefy as hell. I love it. Has the ball lock on yours loosened up at all. It seems pretty tough to work.

  • @xGA115xx

    Thank you, I appreciate that!

    Very beefy indeed.

I was just talking to my girl Valerie on here about that... she was saying her Manix's ball lock was a little stiff too. I don't personally find it to be a problem at all, but it will indeed loosen up a bit as you play with it. I told her to do what I tell my wife to do to my peepee... play with it as much as possible! LMAO!

You could put a little lube around the cage part of the lock to help it slide a bit easier too.

  • @X4CTO Good to know. Haha you cant forget to play with the balls

  • @xGA115xx

Play with balls indeed... she definitely has to play with the balls! LMAO!

  • Sounds great...love to see that Millie/Para2 vid sometime. Kinda figured the Military would win out for you...lol.

By the way...keep up the great work. I've really enjoyed your knife reviews for quite a while now. One of the few I make sure to watch. So, thanks...take care!

  • @BDNX

I just made the Millie/Para 2 video last night in fact... so I have to get it edited together and I'll get it uploaded soon. I do love the Millie a little more, but I laid out exactly why in the video. =)

Thank you very much, I really appreciate the compliment my friend.

Plenty more knife reviews on the way for sure... at least 5 coming soon! =)

Same to you... take care and stay sharp my friend!

  • my mini grip's liners take up much more real estate inside the valox. you oughta grab one then compare it to a similar sized and priced knife. i dunno how much better the mini feels than the full size because of this but yknow, i 'member you saying something in the grip vs endura vid about how it feels hollow.

  • @FatGuyWithAKatana

Yes I remember saying that indeed... and I might have to get my hands around a mini Grip next time I'm out at my local knife shop... I might like it better if it feels more solid indeed. I noticed that the liners on the mini seemed to fill more area inside the liners on someone's video on here when they disassembled it... so might be better indeed. We'll see. =)

  • Hey man anytime, you are one of my favorite reviewers.

  • @Phitalian

    =)

  • Again great review and personally I think the orange would look bad to the bone brother. Anyways if I could make a request could u start saying where the knives are made in your reviews that would make them even better! Thanks man u are a tremendous asset to the knife community!

  • @Phitalian

Thank you my friend... much appreciated!

    Agreed on the orange! =)

Well I just never think about where they're made much, not a big factor for me as long as the knives are made well honestly... but I can certainly see how it could be important info for some. I guess I just assumed it was easy enough to find out online, but maybe not... I don't think a lot of dealers list where they're make really. Haven't really looked. I'll keep that in mind in the future if I can remember

  • Thank you again very much for the compliment... I really do appreciate that! =)

  • "get ass hurt" haha

  • @knifeguy98

    HAHA!

  • great review as always. i've never seen the guts of a Griptillian, but now i can see what you're saying. the manix is one of the only knives that's really comfortable for me when i choke up & take advantage of the choil. it's such a comfortable feeling knife. any chance in you picking up that bigger mega manix or manix xl?

  • @INFIDELxSTRONG

Thank you... much appreciated buddy! =)

Yeah the Manix is definitely the one I would trust more of the two. I really wish that Benchmade would beef up their spring system more because I really do like the Griptilian and this X15TN steel is pretty nice (though I still prefer Spydie's H1 *cough* X4CTO's biased *cough*) but I just don't feel right knowing the stresses being put on those omegas! =\

Yes indeed... I'll be getting the Mega Manix, haha! Sweet blade!

  • Have you heard about the new BM62 (Balisong)

  • @codbaliflipper1911

Yes indeed... been discussing with a friend of mine here for a few days now! =)

  • Any chance you'd do a comparison vid between your Military and Para models sometime....curious which you like better. I have had a Para2 since April and I love it, but I've also thought briefly about the Military....just curious, thanks!

  • @BDNX

I think I could do that... that might be a decent comparison indeed... however I will tell you right now that I will favor the Millie over the Para... but I'll still be able to give a fair comparison I think. =)

I can lay it all out in a video though... to many little points to really go over here in the comments.

  • benchmade 42's and all their other balisongs suck and i hate them, i wouldn't be caught dead with one. the pivots suck, the latches suck, the handles suck, the blade steels suck and the sheaths suck. also big bags of money suck, and so do 1911's and camaro z28's.

sorry but it seems when i talk shit about something one day, i get it for free a few days later :D don't block me bro!

  • @FatGuyWithAKatana

LMAO! I ain't gonna block you brother... as a matter of fact, I'm going to tell you what I think sucks...

Big giant swollen titties suck (good to suck too)... Glocks suck... Spydercos suck... I absolutely can't stand the Endura! Yeah, and... Audi R8's suck... bad... and lab retrievers suck... my wife sucks... and you know if X4CTO says it then it must be law! LMAO!

Hey congrats on winning that BM Grip from Jake brother!

  • @X4CTO oh yeah all that stuff sucks too. y'know,. i dunno if you dig the r8's for the same reason i do or not but i like em better than the v10 versions for one reason and one reason only, the sound, check out top gear's video of the audi r8, my god it sounds good. and thanks, i'll be pacing the floor til it arrives.

  • @FatGuyWithAKatana

LOL! Everything sucks... now who's going to send us all of it? Cuz it all sucks! =)

Brother, I know the sound of the R8 well... a client of mine had one and I got a chance to drive it... that mofo can break your damn neck once you set launch control and give her a kick in the ass... damn I almost had an orgasm right then and there, LMAO! Now I want one! But the sound... yeah it's like two angels having great sex! =0

  • Cool video bro, I've always wanted to know why the bm axis lock has gotten so much criticism. I've got an orange griptilian myself, but I've never used it for any hard or tough cutting tasks. Suffice it to say I'll continue to use it that way after seeing how thin that omega spring is! Thanks for sharing!

  • @WeaversofEternity

Thank you brother, I appreciate that! =)

I do love my orange Grip... great blade in every way... EXCEPT that dinky little omega spring! =\

So far she's been holding up, but I'm still going to always be weary of those little bits of wire being all that's holding my Axis lock bar forward. Still a good knife in every other way though. I love the X15TN steel in it too.

You're welcome, and thank you for watching.

  • Test comment. For some reason your not on my sub list! :'( I was like where is x4cto! I had to search for your channel to see your new videos...

  • @MountainMonsters

    HAHA! Test successful my brother.

Yeah I noticed that has been happening to some people lately... for some reason people's subs are getting booted, I wonder if there's some sort of limit or something... weird. I always make it a point to check people's channels manually if I don't see vids from them for awhile though... you never know.

Thanks for stopping by brother, I appreciate it.

  • :D btw this is the first time i red your tags.did i missed more crazy shit on your past videos? xD

  • @MrHALOCOUST

HAHA! Yes indeed... I always put crazy shit in the tags. I've been doing that for quite a while in fact, LOL!

  • LOL x4cto nice tags

  • @MNSurvival

    LMAO! Thank you! =)

  • Haha X 2 dislikes bro I think there hitting on you!!! lmfao Time to break out the Kiwi or the Glock haha

  • @TacDaddy12

    LMAO!

Yep... guess I'm going to have to go voodoo on their ass and stick 'em in the freezer!

No shit... my granny practices that shit... it will fuck you up! LMAO!

  • Great review my friend. I love it when things are taken apart and explained in detail. Anyone looking at that design can see the Manix has a better engineered system. Love the rambling, you always make me smile. I'm about to get my first Spiderco, I'll do a video when I get it. Have a great New Year my friend.

  • @fumasterchu12

Thank you my friend, I really appreciate it. =)

Yes indeed... I much prefer the engineering on the Manix's lock.

I will say that the only weak spot on the Axis is the omega spring... but nonetheless it IS a weak spot.

Thank you my friend, I appreciate that... always glad to make people smile! =)

Looking forward to seeing your video on your first Spydie... sounds good to me!

You have a great New Year too... and stay sharp!

  • You just helped me to decide against buying a Griptilian. Thank you! I never new about the fucking omega spring. That was an excellent review ... as always.

  • @jedijerdrums

    Well you're welcome my friend.

I don't have a problem with the Griptilian overall, just those damn omega springs.

If they would beef 'em up a bit or switch to a bit more stress resistant design then I would love the Axis lock I think.

Either way... thank you very much, I always appreciate you watching!

  • oh man. Your intro made me drool more and more as you open those spydies one by one . Delicious looking knives you have there. Oooohhlalaahh....!

  • @87971045

HAHA! Well thank you for watching my friend, I appreciate it.

    Glad you enjoyed it. =)

  • I bought that Blue handled Manix 2 because of you and I love it. I do not have a Paramilitary yet. I must have one now.

  • @TheMotorick

Glad you love it brother... me too... a great blade for sure.

I hope they make some other translucent colors as well... ruby red, orange, etc... that would be nice.

I have my review coming very soon on the Para 2... great one as well! Highly recommended by me so far.

Thank you for watching my friend, I appreciate it.

  • Great review as always; honest, informative & entertaining. Thanks, and a very Happy New Year to you, may 2012 bring peace and contentment to you and yours. Cheers Bro.

  • @1234sensei

Thank you my friend, I appreciate that! =)

I hope you are having a great start to your new year as well my friend.

Hopefully 2012 will be a good year for all of us!

  • Great review as always, Got a question about caring folding knife with tip up:

-If someone punch you in the head and you fall or just fall

    -You jump

    -You run

-You doing emergency braking in the car (break the hardest you can from whatever speed to 0)

If the knife will open, is it hurt you?

By the way I'm not into knives for EDC only and not for self defence, I think you does not NEED them you WANT them. Heaa for the humor. We want more crazy stuff X4CTO style!

  • @jpxole

Thank you my friend, I appreciate that.

Well I've mentioned in my past videos about how secure tip up carry is for me. The blade spine rides against the seam of the pocket so it cannot open easily.

I have practiced with a knife in my pocket a lot (practicing Aikido and Kali twice a week) and no problems there.

I run often with a knife... never a problem there even when clipped on on the outside of my running clothes, not even in a pocket.

I've done some extreme braking in...

  • ... my car unfortunately (because of idiot drivers) and never a problem with that.

Basically if you have a knife that has a good detent in the blade that holds it closed then you shouldn't ever have a problem. Only if the detent is weak will you have possibly have an issue.

I've been carrying folding knives for about 20 years or so and I've never had one accidentally open and cut me.

Plenty more crazy X4CTO stuff coming this year for sure, thank you for watching.

  • so the axis just has a little hair thin leaf spring on it? that sucks. benchmade needs to fix that shit right there. i just got the spydie catalog, it's like porn, o gotta do some more studying and saving moneys to get me a few that i likes.

  • @FatGuyWithAKatana

Yep... that's what it has... just a little dinky omega spring, LOL!

Funny thing is... I did the video on the Spydie catalog not too long ago (will be uploading that soon here) and in that video I mentioned how I got this porn magazine in the mail, LOL... referring to the Spydie catalog of course. HAHA! It's like pornography indeed my brother!

Hope you can get all the knives you want my friend!

  • Ay x4cto I need your expertise to

Help me pick between these three knives, paramilitary 2, military, or a smallfly. Thanks for your time and again, great vid brother!

  • @AllahBread

Well those are three excellent blades for sure... but between those three, my personal favorite is still very much the Military. I love the Para 2's for EDC as well, but they'll never take the place of my Millies! =)

Now the Smallfly is in a league of it's own... it would be a great EDC as well (where legal of course) and has the strongest lock of them all... balisongs don't fail easily!

If I could only have one, I'd still take the Millie personally though.

  • @AllahBread

If you have an more specific questions on each of the knives then I'd be glad to give you my thoughts on them too... anytime.

Thank you, I appreciate you stopping by! =)

  • Hey man, are you going 2 get the XL manix 2?

  • @MrKnivesrus

Yes I think I will indeed... but since it's a regular lineup item I am going to wait until I can take care of all the sprints and exclusives I want first though... we'll see.

  • great video still dont have a spydie but I might change that next saturday.

  • @wolfcookieo9

I hope so my friend... you gotta have at least one Spydie! =)

I hope you can get one brother!

  • Good Stuff. I love my Manix 2. I like the weight and feel in my hand, a lot of Benchmade knives are not as comfortable. I would recommend this knife to my friends. Where I live in Oregon it's hard to find one in store to look at. Finally found one at Valley River Mall in Eugene, OR but they wanted full retail (They let me give it a once over and instantly fell in love). I found mine at Amazon for almost half off with free shipping verses the Spyderco MSRP. Keep up the good work.

  • @GreenMyrtle

    Thank you!

Same here... the Manix 2 is jumped into my top favorites as soon as I got it... love it too!

Yeah it's not easy to find good deals on knives around here in North Texas where I'm at either... I do have one store where I have a friend that gives me internet pricing on knives, but most other places around here want retail. =\

Thank you, I appreciate you watching!

  • Good stuff brother, was gonna pull the trigger on a translucent blue manix but bought a native instead. Not sure why but the native has found a place in my pocket

  • @deebs1596

Thank you bro, I appreciate that.

Well enjoy your new Native my friend... it's a good one too.

I hope they decide to do some more translucent colors in the future, on the Manix 2 or another design... I just like that shit.

  • oh LoL tags ahahahah :D

  • @MrHALOCOUST

LMAO! I love it when people read the tags... that's where I put the crazy shit in my head! =)

  • U explained axis lock very nicely on that griptilian with penis shaped clip LoL

I want manix2 bad.Sadly they are not avaible here:(

But im very happy with my para2.All time favorite.(especially compression lock)

    Take care

  • @MrHALOCOUST

Thank you my friend, I appreciate that.

LMAO! You remembered, I love it when people remember something stupid I've said! LOL!

Sorry to hear they aren't available there my friend... that's unfortunate.

Of course, I think the Para 2 is a better one anyway... at least in my opinion. I love both of my Paras... my review on them is coming very soon too. =)

You be sure to take care too... stay sharp!

  • My favorites are the Military, Resilience and Endura.

    Happy new year, bro!

  • @GMGvanS

    YEP! YEP!

Some good ones... can't complain about those three at all my friend!

Happy new year to you too brother man, hope yours is kicking off great!

Oh and don't rob any stores dressed as Gumby this year bro... better try Ziggy this year... he never gets any love.

  • My mini grip has a broken omega spring and won't lock. Its unfortunate because the knife would be alright otherwise. Right now it's worthless.

  • @sisco3IS1

Sorry to hear that my friend... I've been hearing that a lot lately unfortunately, one of the reasons I decided to rant about it in this video, I usually just keep it to myself. I hope you can get that fixed though. Good luck.

  • man that is sweet

  • @unclecow

Thank you my brother... I love this blade!

  • I totally agree with you on the Omega spring not being durable. I have to send in my benchmade mini grip to get the spring changed. That black on black is fucking sexy. Great review as usual bro

  • @samurai165

Sorry you had some problems with your BM... I hope you can indeed get that fixed up though my friend... I've been there myself a few times, never with a Spydie though. =)

I love the black on black blades... either that or very bright handles with black blades!

Thank you for stopping by my friend, I always appreciate it.

  • Hey man. Great vid. I liked seeing te inside of the Griptilian. I will post up my vid on the Manix 2 as a VR, hope you enjoy if you havnt seen it yet. I pulled it right down to fit my Grimsmo scales.

  • @troy5690

Thank you my friend, I appreciate you watching it.

Going to check out that VR my friend, I believe I noticed that in my inbox! =)

    Thank you.

  • @X4CTO Cheers man. Hope you enjoy buddy.

  • I agree totally with the shitty springs on the Benchmade,,, pain in the ass to send back/service,,, which I've never had to do w/my Spydies! Right on bro!

  • @SuperCrichards

Yes indeed... same here, never had to send a Spydie in... been using them for over 10 years and they've always been there when I need them.

  • Agreed and good video. Very unlikely with the force evenly distributed the Spydie Spring will fail. Any lock is only as strong as it's weakest component

  • @RobbieGTV

Thank you my friend, I appreciate you watching.

Absolutely... anything is only as strong as it's weakest component... knives, cars, relationships... everything. =)

  • Id say for extreme use, the axis lock is far stronger than the cage ball, but the springs on the cageball are more durable. Sorry, but i just think the cageball is more prone to slippage in its orientation to the tang rather than the axis which is more securely seated relative to the tang. Good review bro, and a happy new year!

  • @weaponaficionado

Well I agree with you regarding the actual "bar" and "ball" parts of the mechanisms... however I've never seen either fail in that regard... it's always been the springs that go for me and those I've seen personally. Now that certainly not to say one's better than the other overall... just all boils down to our individual experiences I suppose. I'm not hating on Benchmade... just that omega spring.

Thank you brother... happy new year to you as well!

  • @TacticalStephenUK

Thank you, I appreciate you watching. =)

  • Great stuff as always brother! Just a heads up to you and to everyone there is an orange paramilitary 2 it's a cutleryshoppe exclusive hurry up they're bout to be sold out! It be the sickest thing if you got this and paired it with your orange milie. Best of luck to you x4cto in 2012!

  • @AllahBread

Thank you brother, I appreciate it.

Yes indeed my friend... I have been aware of the orange Para for a bit.

I'm not sure if I'll be getting it or not to be honest... though I would love to have it in the collection along side my orange Millie. I want the blue exclusive M390 Para 2 as well... but all in all I love the Millies more. Still more of those I want to get too.

So many great blades out there available.

  • Hey X4CTO stag arms has a Spyderco Manix 2 with a FFG black blade of s30v and dark green handles. It is my current EDC and is a great knife.

  • @hanzo1967

Yes indeed my friend, I'm familiar with that one... very nice example of the Manix for sure.

  • My ball is also in a cage...the wife have owned it for over 20 years.Happy new year X4CTO

  • @fredde90210

LMAO! Well my balls have been caged for about 10 years now due to Mrs. X4CTO... but I sure ain't complaining about that! =)

Happy New Year to you too my friend! Thank you!

  • Oooh, I got a dislike... looks like someone likes slurpin' on bum beef.

  • Happy new year X4CTO, looking forward to a new year of rambling haha. Also you work in engineering? Didnt know that about you that's impressive.

  • @EddieCubillo

Hope you're having a happy start to your new year as well my friend, thank you!

HAHA! Well I can promise you another year of rambling for sure! I don't plan on stopping anytime soon.

Yes indeed... systems engineering and I run my own shit too, HAHA! Life is good.

  • Great video! I just got a black on black Para2 and I am in love! lol. Happy New Year brother!

  • @rstrimp226

    Thank you, I appreciate that!

It's a beautiful blade indeed... love that all black!

Happy New Year to you too my friend!

  • Sweet stuff man. I love the black on black, so sexy!

  • @NavBrat97

    Thank you my friend.

Yes indeed... I love the all black look as well... black hardware, everything!

  • Much love to you X4CTO, love your no" B.S. straight how it is" talk.

But brother, loose that Burgundy Austin Powers Shag Rag lol0ol.

  • @The389Maverick

Thank you brother, I appreciate that! =)

I'm not one to sugar coat anything... I call it how I see it.

LMAO... you don't like my shag rag? I was going to use that to bang Mrs. X on too!

  • Love the Manix2. Are you gonna be getting a Manix XL?

  • @xXBallistic82Xx

I will probably be picking up the Manix 2 XL in the future... after I get all the sprint runs and exclusives I want taken care of first... starting with the butt ugly orange Dodo, LOL!

  • the spring on my 940 broke today and I have only had it for about 6 or 7 months. I'm sending it to Benchmade on monday. Also, what tool are you using to take out the torx screws. thanks

  • @squanto9328 also you don't need to have your knife registered to get it serviced right?

  • @squanto9328

Well I'm sorry to hear that my friend... the omegas in my old Griptilian broke around that same amount of time as well. One of my friends on here said his busted after about 3 months! =(

I hope Benchmade gets you taken care of my friend... they should.

The tool I'm using is a Husky torx driver I got at a Home Depot for around $10 or so... I've had it for about a year or so and no problems at all... good stuff.

  • I almost bought a mini grip last year but after watching this video I'm glad I didn't.

I'll be sure to consult you before I make my spyderco purchase.

    Happy New Year Mr.X !!

    1:10am

  • @torgomax

Well I certainly don't mean to imply that the Benchmades are bad knives, and I don't want to shy anyone away from trying one, however that being said... I do want people to know what is a possibility of ownership regarding the Axis lock, ya know?!

I've just seen too many omega springs fail to be comfortable with them everyday.

I'm always willing to be consulted with my friend, haha... anytime... my opinions are mine and they're always free of charge!

    Happy New Year to you!

  • How is the Manix thumb-ramp compared to the steeper Endura ramp?

  • @billymayer1000

Well they are not as good as the Enduras in my opinion. That being said however, the ramp on the Manix 2 is still very good... just not AS good as the Endura's ramp in my personal opinion. I fixed that a bit more by adding my little grip tape strips to the spine area over the caged ball lock area... now it's much mo' betta! HAHA!

Now in the Manix 2's you get a nice finger choil area and some very very ergonomic handles so I think it's better in that regard.

  • @X4CTO Now, how would the jimping compare to the larger jimping sported on the Tenacious? Off the subject now, how is Spyderco's 440C? I am liking a couple smaller folders and one of them is the Cat.

  • @billymayer1000

In my opinion the jimping on the Manix 2 is much better than on the Tenacious. It just seems to "bite" into my finger better... no contest there for me.

Well to be quite honest with you I have yet to try any 440C from Spyderco... but I would imagine if their heat treat is right, which it is in pretty much every other steel they do, then it would be some good stuff. 440C is a pretty good steel regardless... so I think you'd be safe trying one out.

  • Great Vid my friend! I have always been on the edge of getting a manix! Too bad they stopped making those other colour manix's cause I would be on that in a Heart beat!

  • @CalviNNation

Thank you brother, I appreciate you stopping by to watch. =)

Yeah I agree... colored G10 Manix's are excellent... I actually hope they decide to make the lightweight in more translucent colors as well, like that one quite a bit for the price too. Translucent orange or ruby red... yes indeed!

You and I are always talking about those different Spydie colors huh bro? HAHA!

  • hey i just got one for christmas and come check out my channle i am uploading vids again

    scott

  • @mcusta4

I will get over there and check out your vids as soon as I can my friend... I appreciate you stopping by, thank you.

  • thats a really nice bit set you got where did you get them? mine keep striping i did find a set at lowes for 6 bucks i might get them not sure. very good vid thanks for the info :)

  • @mrvoodoo94

Thank you... that's just my little Husky driver I got at a Home Depot store, I think it was right under $10 or so... pretty good one indeed. I have bought several of these drivers in torx and standard bits to keep around and such... not a single problem with them in a few years I've had them.

Thank you, I appreciate you watching. =)

  • Have a sweet new years brother! This has been a sweet day for me computer wise and i wish you a good year man.

  • @IEJP

Same to you my brother... mine is starting off great indeed! Thank you!

  • I'm only saying this because you said I could....X4CTO you suck!

otherwise, I really enjoy your videos and your collection. Keep doing what you're doing brother.

Happy New Year to you and your family.

  • @thegoods34

LMAO! I was just sucking indeed... on my wife! =)

Thank you my friend, I appreciate you watching my videos!

Plenty more on the way... 2012 is starting off great here, I hope the same is true for you and yours!

  • Good review brother! You know how I feel about the Manix, its a bad ass knife...the para2 is also another favorite of mine as well...I think you will enjoy my next vid ;-) have a happy new year brother! Take care

  • @OnTheEdge72

Thank you bro... I appreciate that.

Yes indeed, it's a very badass blade indeed... I think I am going to beat mine up, I know it will take it. =)

I'll be looking forward to your new video my brother... you be sure to take care as well and I hope your new year is starting off great bro!

  • sweet manix 2 man i gotta get one.

En Happy New Years from Kona Hawaii my new favorite vacation spot

  • @matt1315s

I can personally recommend this blade highly... loving it for a good all around EDC blade.

Happy New Year to you too my friend... Kona huh? Well it sounds like you're in a beautiful place for sure. Enjoy it out there on the island! =)

  • You are spot on about Benchmades being overpriced, my blade lovin brother. lol

  • @Pistolas44

    Thank you brother.

Yeah I do like Benchmade knives, I'm certainly not hating on them... I mean I own several of them and have owned more than that in the past... but for the equal or less money I can get a Spydie... which I greatly prefer in most ways.

If Benchmade would just improve their spring design to keep that Axis bar forward then I would probably not mind spending the money on them to be honest.

Thank you for stopping by brother.

  • I wish the manix 2 xl was a hollow or saber ground blade. I like stronger tips on my blades

  • @ibesteadymobbin92

I can certainly understand that my friend, we all have our preferences.

I do like a strong tip as well, but I usually will give that up to get better slicing capability... although I must say that the hollow ground Spydies do slice like crazy still while maintaining a tougher tip... so you point is well taken (pun intended, haha).

  • It's official. I'm gonna get one of those. I've been contemplating it since I watched your Manix light vid. You helped make up my mind. Anyway, great job and great vids. Keep it up. I'll keep watching.

  • @Palethius

I do recommend it... it's a great knife.

The lightweight version is very nice as well and I hope they do that one in other colors as well... but yeah I can certainly highly recommend the Manix 2 in G10... I love it so far.

Thank you very much my friend, I appreciate you watching. =)

  • good show u tell it like it is!

  • @4x4boogie

Thank you, I appreciate you watching. =)

  • You should get the Manix 2 XL man. It has an FFG. I just got one and it is awesome. Good vid man.

  • @commieforniatactical

I am probably going to pick the Manix 2 XL up eventually... but I will wait since it's a regular in the lineup... I am focusing on getting some of the sprints and exclusives first.

Enjoy your new Manix XL my friend.

Thank you for watching, I appreciate it.

  • I was searching for stinky homeless man's sausage, and all I got was this Spyderco review =/

  • @RIDERsxv

    LMMFAO!

  • I stopped carrying my FFG Endura 4 and now carry my Tenacious exclusively. I know the steel doesn't retain its edge like VG10, but I swear it feels like the knife was designed to fit MY hand. Plus it only takes about 5 minutes to return a scary sharp edge via the Sharpmaker. Happy New Year, man.

  • @neonshoji

Well the most important thing is that you like it and it works for you my friend, nevermind what anyone else thinks. People think I'm crazy when I say I like my titanium Millie better than a CRK Sebenza... just my opinions on it... and we all have them.

Happy New Year to you too my friend, hope yours is starting off great!

  • dig'n the red shag ! ~happy new year home slice.~
