  • This song brings back memories of my childhood when my godfather was in his final months suffering from ALS. I will always love him.

  • not enough superlatives to describe just how good these guys were and how incredible johnny wilder jr's vocals are!! every now and then i dig out my vinyl and play some of this, but hearing them live.. they sound tight, all so in sync and wilder's vocal range and control are somewhere out in space! all done without guide vocals or any backing tracks ( take a GOOD look just about ALL todays 'singers' and LEARN!) god bless heatwave, thank you for your wonderful music. RIP j wilder

  • 10 people don't know true love (or good music).

  • "All the songs on our fist album were written and compoesed by our organ player."... (Rod Temperton- who went on to write "Rock With You", "Of the Wall", "Thriller" and many other hits you know and love. Shoutout to Rod

  • I love this song forever and ever and a day, its the saddest story soon after this he was paralysed from the neck down until his death.... Rod Temperton is a genius

  • I'm in love!

  • Love 2 listen 2 this every once in awhile, decided to comment on it. Thank you so much for sharing this vid/song. Whenever i feel lonely i click on this and get sent back to a time when i was with the love of my life. Finds the smile i once had and reminds me of what it felt like to be happy. Always & Forever goes deep in different ways. It's can be celebration of a couple that is in love or once was. It can mean a person wishing happiness for the other even after losing the love of the other.

  • Check out those outfits!

  • A sweeet classic !

  • i know i have wrote this before, but it says video removed so very sorry if it was already on this one! Anyway i had this song as our first dance at our wedding in 2008. • This was our first dance at my wedding a year and a half ago. Best reception ever!!!

  • damn this song brings back so many memories....top favorite oldies song of all time.

  • Soulful.~

  • Regarding rod Temperton keyboard player ,,,Rod ended up writing 'Rock With You', 'Baby Be Mine', 'The Lady In My Life' and the title track of Michael's 'Off The Wall' album in 1979, together with the title song 'Thriller' of his follow-up...A genius lyricist from good old england.

    at a brother.

  • Mantese was stabbed leaving a gala in London by an unknown person. The knife hit him in the heart and for several minutes, he was clinically dead. When, after several months, he awoke from coma, he was blind, mute and paralyzed in his entire body. Mantese was replaced by bassist Derek Bramble. Adding keyboardist Calvin Duke to the group.

  • Love this.

  • why did they say all our songs are recorded by our organ player.absolutely love this song. but that comment was well out of order.

  • love love love this song

  • Bad ass motherfunkers

  • Absolutely amazing, top tune.

  • Talk about classic.... will ALWAYS love this song FOREVER...!

  • how old were they then!!!?? they look soooo young there!

  • @BigLyfe09 they were in their late 20's

  • @BigLyfe09 This is 1977, so I'm assuming Johnny Wilder, Jr. was 27 years old (he was born in 1950). They were just hitting they're stride. Definitely before the Central Heating album. Classic all the way.

  • @Harrisfc He was injured in that auto accident in February of 1979. A lesser person would have become a recluse, but not Johnny. That was not his style. He continued to work (and teach) until the day he died.

  • @Harrisfc Actually Johnny was born in 1949. But its all good.

  • @Harrisfc I think Johnny was born in 1949. Rod Temperton, on keyboards, wrote most of their songs (and all of their hits). He would later write songs for MJ, Chaka Khan, Lionel, etc. . . .

  • part 4_ Yeah, I must admit dam good memories!!! Im sure you all can recall a few too! Stop lying, you know Im right ! What was yours? Keep it clean now. Although many have tried to rerecord this song no one will have sung it like Heatware has. "Always and Forever" has and always will stand the test of time. Thank you Heatwave for your immense talent and musical contribution to the music world. Simply put YOU ARE AWESOME !

  • part 3_ I remember being asked by my crush to dance to this song with the lights dim and the disco ball spinning above us. Being nervous and trying not to show it. Then when he gets to the part of the song where he hold that note forever, thats when your crush makes his move and hugs to bring you closer until the end of the song and you swear you feel like your heart will jump out your chest.

  • Part 2_This is what or should I say, You will have contributed your talent to a song that lasts thru many generations. Just in my family alone I can think of at least three generations that love this song.

  • Too all the young wannabe singer out there, who shall remain nameless (like the Britneys and Miley"s out there) If you dedicate yourself to your craft, like Heatwave dedicate themselves see pt 2

  • I love this song- it can't be beat. I could listen to it over and over. It is beautiful and reminds me of fun times.

  • @caleya4 i agree with you it was my wedding song 23 years ago

  • @caleya4 I am with you. I listen to this version at least three times a day!!!

  • @caleya4 they made this song in 1977

  • Man back in the day they killed the rnb songs man they went the fuck in this my shit

  • That's what people looked like in the 70's, before high fructose corn syrup, video games, and MTV.

  • This is so true and I'm fat!

  • @5515mark You got that right! Now everyone is obese and sickly! Its ashame, I wish I can back into the 1970's!

  • They are all so skinny!

  • dude sung the hell outtta this song. smh

  • I enjoy the memory of my husband singing this song to me on our wedding day.

  • I knew this would be good

  • Does anyone know where this footage comes from?

  • this is and all wys be that song to love and make love too

  • This still makes me cry after all these years - my favourite song ever...

  • Rod Temperton is a musical genius. If you dont believe me, just ask Quincy Jones or Michael Jackson (well, maybe its a bit too late to ask Michael now) or any other prominent figure from the Soul /R&B fraternity of the 70s & 80s. And who would have thought that a white boy from Cleethorpes in Lincolnshire, England would have so much soul..?

  • @cockalingo Rod temperton really doesn't get enough credit. I think quincy took too much credit that belonged to Rod.

  • @cockalingo That threw me for a loop when I found out he was from England. But it really threw me for a loop when I found he was in Heatwave for their first 2 albums.

  • @cockalingo AGREED

but you could have left the MJ comment out......too soon.

  • with this song I fell in love with my husband and today I have been married 28 years wow that feels good and I love .... NICE!

  • One the best if not the best slow jam ever. Heat Wave will always be forever remembered!!

  • They just don't make them like they used to. I hope that the quality of music can get back to this.

  • DAMN HE CAN SING!!! He feeling the hell out of this song. Raw emotions...

  • even though i am from a different generation i appreciate the way how music was music back then. You could actually nderstand what they are saying and it was real none of this fake stuff ones do nowadays. it must have been a blast to live back in those days when it was just coming out.

  • They sound sooo good live

  • This is were true soul music manifest.(This is real talent) The reason why music sucks now days they stopped grown men and women from singing and only these youngster sing. Please back old school music.

  • I agree with Fleszr.. Most current bands can't perform live, sound terrible without all the expert engineering that goes into making music at the studio. This is a great video!!!

  • This is my parents' wedding song. Such a good track.

  • this song is the best song ever

  • Very few modern bands can stand up LIVE,and create a timeless sound like these guys.I will always miss the 80,s .

  • but this song is from the mid 70's....

  • THAT is one song that I nevah will tire of hearing. Sang it Heatwave like only YOU know how to do. :o) LOVE it!

and it's crazy 'cause I'm 18...I should be listening to that crazy ass stuff they call music!! • I dedicate this song to the love of my life...

Beyond all odds we are facing... I ll love you, M.A... Always and Forever...

  • You guys missed the whole thing and I JUST caught it after almost 40yrs on this planet. Did you see the VERY last note he sang? I mean it was so in tune with the music that when he walks away from the microphone it sounds like he's STILL singing! Or is it just me? He has clearly left the microphone and is by the drums. That's when the note finally ends. WOW!! Modern-day Mozarts and we didn't even get it. Shame on us all.

  • wow! exactly they didnt sing they sang! Beautiful lyrics whooooooooooo! im excited.

  • it might just be that this dude watches alot of football and everyone in the nfl is HUGE OR it could be the fact that none of these dudes are wearing baggy clothes
