@ThePptguru99 Thanks, I wish I had those chops with this band. But I really didn't start singing heavy blues until I joined TL. You should hear me now...
Anybody know how I can get a copy of Push's "Where You Gonna Run" on CD or MP3? I loved that song, and wore the cassette I had of it out. Now I don't have it, but have ti sing it to myself (yes 20 years later). I loved these guys!
@ghammer01 just go to last.fm and search PUSH NEW JERSEY - the PUSH II tape will come up in the search. I don't know what they did with the first tape, but this one is better anyway.
HOLY SHIT ! Ricky what's up! I used to roady for you back in the push days ! Name is Frank . I am accually in this video ( grey no sleeve T shirt ) so do you still talk to Jimmy or paulie or how about bonk ( Bill)?I still play that yellow decrepid tape , you want it has the best rock & roll scream ever recorded ! Be cool brother
Does Studio One still exist? The first time I ever saw Extreme was at Studio One, 8/10/89. Also saw Manowar with Brute Force opening one time. I probably saw Tuff Luck there a half dozen times.
To give you the history, it closed shortly after, then opened as Tiquila Joes. The club was awesome, I stayed until it closed down and became a church in 2006. Even went to a church service there one time for old time sake. You can go on the third floor where this was filmed. What a histrory in this building, what a place to party, I love you all my friends from Tiquila Joes. Ken from Union
What a definition for ironic .. an 80's/90's rock club to church. *S*.. The only way it would have been MORE ironic would be if it had turned into a rehab center *LOL* Maybe a 12 step program for Aqua-Net Addicts *L*
I can do better than that... If this is who I think it is. Didn't you work for Concrete? And yes, the band Magic was a cool - We played with them a few times, nice guys.
Sorry it took so long to get back to you - and I did spend a fair amount of time (had a friend who worked there) - but I worked for Enigma/Capitol (my only excuse for that was I must have been a glutton for punishment *LOL*) - who are you? If you dont mind my asking.
Oh my goodness .. I remember this band. I used to work for a label in NYC and practically lived at Studio 1 / The Cat Club / L'Amours (Brooklyn) .. Anyone remember the bands "Scarlet Fever" and "Magic"?
so fucking good i used to love these guys they rock does any one know where i can get the songs on cd i have the tape still but its not the same does anyone remember TNA let me down ez ? they were great to i just found them on i tunes
Man, great vid. I remember hearing "Down on your Knees" on WSOU back in the day. I dug up my old cassette tapes and just listened to a Push song that I had taped off of WSOU. Not sure of the title - "Where You Gonna Run" or something like that? Anyways to this day, I still dig listening to that tune. It friggin' rocks!
I was told that "Where You Gonna Run" went to #7 on the DC-101 request list (whatever that is). I pissed myself when I was driving through Virginia and heard it on the radio in 1990. That was the closest thing to a hit that PUSH had. I talked to Jimmy about maybe doing a PUSH reunion this summer, all we need are two guitar players and a bassist. Bill, Fred, Paul and Joe have yet to respond. It would be fun...
I have their tape sitting on my kitchen counter, I just found it. My old drummer (Jeff foader) played in that band. Their singer is really great. They were on the soap opera ANOTHER WORLD with Bill Sink (seen above) playing on the show. When they went to the Hard Rock for their AW party, I got drunk with one of the Actors, thrown out of the club with him and I threw up all the way home, ensuring that they would hate me forever. Plus I sang backups on the tape. So Yes, I know those guys. LOL!
An old friend called me and said he found a picture of me and "some guy with bad hair extensions" sitting in the Plaza Diner in Secaucus circa 1990. I think his name was Chris and we went out two or three times but he lived too far from me. I'm almost positive he said he was in the band Rascal and was playing Studio One, but I don't remember if I ever went to see him play or even if he was telling the truth. My memory from 1988 - 1991 is a little foggy!
Holy fuck dude, that was one of my many douche-chill moments... I am so sorry for that. That was right after I did Dick Gozinya and I thought it would be funny... I can still hear the Hindenburg soundtrack playing in my head when I think of that night "Oh my, get out of the way please! Oh the humanity!" I single handedly ruined my friends cover gig career... What a douche I am.
Hey Rick, This is a great flashback man. It's David, Kevin's friend, you did the mona lisa demo w/us back in '89. Don't know if you remember but you came down to a gig in seaside heights at the aztec around '94 when you came back to NJ for a visit. You came up and sang "highway to hell". The crowd, if it even qualified for one, nearly had a heart attack. I remember the open mouthed expressions. I still laugh about it. Come to think of it, don't think I got many gigs there after that :).
wow, this is unbelievable! I partied with those guys. The drummer was a manager at the Bradlees dept store I worked at in 1987-88. All the high school girls that worked there were in love with him and would go their shows. Once or twice he brought some of the band with him to our drinking parties. god I love the internet, it's like having a time machine.
this guy has a FANTASTIC voice, amazing actually.
