I'm a white guy born and raised in southern California, I grew up around both English at home and Spanish in public. We live in California (settled by the Spanish) and in a country with no official language. We speak whatever is most prevalent and in Ca that is Spanish. Spanish is our culture, and children should be immersed in it and learn it. I'm an American but before that I'm a Californian. Viva California!
We need English to be the official language because immigrants are NOT trying to learn English becuase we accommodate them too damn much.
I'm learning German because I actually like it (unlike Spainsh which I had to endure for years because my high school only had Spanish, French, and Japanese).

I support English as the national language for the United States of America. Spanish wasn't an issue until 12 million illegal immigrants crossed over from Mexico. California wants people to learn Spanish, but 75% of poll takers in America would rather have the hispanics speak English.

I know someone who speaks Cambodian, Chinese, Vietnesese, and French. Got their citzenship and learned English. They had to learn English because all the translators are spanish. So if you speak spanish you don't have to speak english because there are translators everywhere hospitals, elementry schools, walmart etc. And alot of spanish speaking people here have there citizenship and thats great but if anyone needs to learn another language it should be english.
