@Tromeros1 i think your a little confused. a deficit is how much we add to the debt per year. bush's was about 250 billion a year and he didn't factor Iraq into his budget. When you factor that it in it was about 1.4 trillion by 2009 (the 09 budget was set by the 08 govt.) Obama currently has a 1.4 trillion deficit. This is mostly from tax cuts, accounting for wars, TARP, stimulus, and a few other things. The debt under bush went from 5.7 trillion to 10.7. Obama currenty has it at 14.2

@Tromeros1 The stimulus was mostly tax cuts and bailouts for the states. Very little of it went to job creation. It actually created more jobs than originally projected. It was a pretty right wing move. And its not like theres no way out. We do have a big deficit but its not that impossible. Look up the people's budget. Another solution, raise taxes to clinton rates and end our foreign wars. Both of these project us paying off the debt in a decade or 2.Cutting entitlments might help as well.

@Blownupbadly Except that the stimulus isn't really even in effect yet. The program is still being carried out and i estimate its a decade long investment that will pay off. Certein acts like the Frank-Dodds act are regulating Wall-Street in order to make sure that it can't wreck us even further. A few other regulations are helping too. The economy has improved since 2008. True, unemployment did drop, but at a lower rate. Now employment is back on the rise and we are actually in recovery now.

But the people are prosperous, more prosperous than in the U.S. Think of it as a wheel of life. Gov't does it's job, people live well in return.

@Tromeros1 i think your a little confused. a deficit is how much we add to the debt per year. bush's was about 250 billion a year and he didn't factor Iraq into his budget. When you factor that it in it was about 1.4 trillion by 2009 (the 09 budget was set by the 08 govt.) Obama currently has a 1.4 trillion deficit. This is mostly from tax cuts, accounting for wars, TARP, stimulus, and a few other things. The debt under bush went from 5.7 trillion to 10.7. Obama currenty has it at 14.2

@Tromeros1 The stimulus was mostly tax cuts and bailouts for the states. Very little of it went to job creation. It actually created more jobs than originally projected. It was a pretty right wing move. And its not like theres no way out. We do have a big deficit but its not that impossible. Look up the people's budget. Another solution, raise taxes to clinton rates and end our foreign wars. Both of these project us paying off the debt in a decade or 2.Cutting entitlments might help as well.

@Blownupbadly Except that the stimulus isn't really even in effect yet. The program is still being carried out and i estimate its a decade long investment that will pay off. Certein acts like the Frank-Dodds act are regulating Wall-Street in order to make sure that it can't wreck us even further. A few other regulations are helping too. The economy has improved since 2008. True, unemployment did drop, but at a lower rate. Now employment is back on the rise and we are actually in recovery now.

Now employment is on the rise. I already see improvement. And its supposed to start kicking in some more this summer. We haven't even spent the whole stimulus yet. And the decade thing: I predicted that in 10 years the effects will end, not begin. We will look back and see that it helped. finally, how did regulations hurt us?

Look at Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Japan, Germany, Argentina, & others. But the people are prosperous, more prosperous than in the U.S. Think of it as a wheel of life. Gov't does it's job, people live well in return.

@kimlene05 I already said Barry doesn't speak for everyone. You and no one else can get that through their thick skull. Southern California, San Diego alone cost 4 billion. At the other 1000 miles of border and you have your total cost plus integrating existing crosses and upping maintenance and security budget would only look grimmer and grimmer. @kimlene05 I didn't bring up religion, you did. I didn't say that money being spent now is going towards the right cause. Hell, just look at our GoP. Point is you are wrong on solving the dilemmas of America. If you were right, you would be running for Office. You are just a pissed off middle 5 figure worker that moans and groans about taxes.
