Jack, you should definitely give the graphic novel a good read. The movie was nearly a frame-by frame replication of the novel, minus a few minor changes. Also, the actors chosen were PERFECT.

One part i don't like about the movie is the scene where Rorschach kills the child killer. The graphic novel version was better, i wish Zack Snyder didn't change that part.

Hmm... I did like this movie, but it had veeery unnecessary scenes like those sex scenes and such, but the action was cool and Rorschach was spot on, the story is really hard to keep up with and sex with protection IS immoral since it should only be used for biological propagation, not something to celebrate your McDonald's promotion with, tards... anyways 7/10 from me

I thought that movie was horrible. I went to see it with my family and we wound up walking out in the middle of it. Any person with strong morals would realize its unrealistic use of gore, sex and blasphemy. But wait, it wasn't unrealistic at all, was it? In my opinion, that movie is disturbing.

I saw it 4 times, at the last one i took my novel with me and followed the movie while following in my book.

I bought the novel for around €16 and it was worth the money.

When I saw the trailer the first time, I was pumped as I had read the book. But still I knew that some would not appreciate it for what it was.

This is an essay on what the hero life would be like if actually inflicted on people: They would most likely be corrupted (Comedian), driven mad (Rorscach) or disillusioned (Manhatten).

Also, it gave an honest if not brutal example of how the world could literally be saved. Watchmen is a true super hero epic that plays out like a greek tragedy.

You see i completely agree with you here jack, But a lot of people are bashing this movie and it took me some time to figure out why. The big reason is most "Viewers" of today can't sit through a movie like watchmen. The reason for this being it actually has a story (lol) and great actors scenery etc... This just shows our generation has a very little attention span, which is quite sad to see. And people have been comparing this to the Dark knight to. Which is uncomparable... what do you think??

Well, the only comparison between The Dark Knight and Watchmen is that both tell a dark, gritty story that excel any comic book movie that came before them. The Dark Knight is a more streamlined film, mixing a crime thriller like The Departed (probably to a lesser extent) to the moral struggles from films like Iron Man or Spider-Man. Watchmen is a more complex film, and is a more direct adaptation of its original source (like 300).  Anyone else have their own thoughts?

I think I had an interesting perspective going into this film because I had never even heard of The Watchmen graphic Novel so to me I thought it was going to be another Super hero movie. But I was wrong turned out it transcended that Sup genre Stereo type. I didnt realize people were comparing it to the Dark Knight. I think both great movies but they are both Different movies.
