No reason to call anyone a fucktard.. I've been to 46 Dead shows before 93 & I'll call em the Grateful Dead all day long doggie. It's not a contest so jump on the train & smile, or stay cool. You obviously have no idea because you probably show up to gas alley with 300 bucks & go home bruised up. Some folks got no clue. The band didn't die with Jerrry & he didn't own it. Just ask him. Peace :0)
Hey the Grateful Dead were all very good musicians, but they were probably the most magical band in the history of modern music, I can't think of any other band that can say that.. All the deadheads know what I mean. Having said that, I have to agree, the magic isn't really there with the current lineup, BUT, they still do a decent show. We'll never get Jerry or Pig back, so we might as well enjoy what's left.
this isnt painful at all! and pigpen used to rock this song. Im sick of all these ppl sayin jerry this and jerry that... theres alot more to this than just jerry friends. 2:48 starts a real good warm fun feeling that always makes me smile! this was a real fun night and a grate end to a 3 show run. Burn down the fillmore Gas the avalon....
@windsof630 Lets be honest... The dead was Jerry... he didnt like it that way, but it was.. whats kind of fucked up is all the interviews where they swore they would never play this music with jerry.
The Dead are like licorice. People who hate licorice really, really hate licorice. People who love licorice, they really really LOVE licorice. "Take what you need and leave the rest."
The Dead is better than all the other garbage out today, however Haynes is no Jerry. Further is much better with John K. from Dark Star. anyone know why the drummers don't want to play with him?
@TerrapinJoe1 I think they want to try something different than the ol ways.. but can I admit to something... I think life is a lot better without drumz/space... the show never loses its momentum.. I like the way furthur is doing it... and frankly Joe Russo is snappier... Billy and Mickey are fucking old.. they cant lay it down like they used to.. they drag ass. Joe on the other hand reminds me of billy circa 72-73
@TerrapinJoe1 personal tention. mostly Billy... i only saw "the dead" 3 times and i was in 6th grade. i was too young to appreciate it, i was bored and upset.. then somthing happened. i got into them... magic happened new years eve '09- '10. im a drummer myself so its a double bummer for me. ive been 15 furthur shows.. 3 "dead" shows.
This band sucks. I'll spell that for you. That is S as s and U as in u and B as in Bob Weir. None of these is Jerry Garcia. He died in 1994 or 1995 and since before his death his band mates decided to make everything sound as if it is 'Aiko Aiko'. Warren Haynes replaces Jerry. And he screwed up the Dead just like he screwed up the Allman Brothers Band. Warren Haynes sucks. He is a character. Just like Derreck Trucks.
after reluctance about warren, i am glad to say he is settling in beautifully. vocally he is perfect. i keep thinking im hearing brent when i listen to these recent shows. chimenti is playing brents b3 and they even have the same birthdady. this band is totally worthy of the name! thanks phil, bob, mickey, bill, warren and jeff!
I'm glad to hear & see that the Dead are doin' such old songs such as this song. Anthem is my all time favorite Dead album. Nothing better than to see these guys still stretching these songs further. Thats typical dead style. Never do it the same. Thanks for postin this. I might make to one of the Chicago shows. Rock on Dead

Personally I don't think that Warren Haynes really is the best choice for this. It doesn't really go anywhere

The Dead blows... I miss Jerry G. The Grateful Dead was one of the greatest bands ever.. this is actually a disgrace and painful.

Asshole. Grateful Dead wasn't just Jerry, i bet he would be glad to see someone take his place and continue the Dead legacy.
