There're really only two flaws with Dr. Doom for me ... his overblown ego and his stupid obsession with Mr. Fantastic ... I would like him to be rational and cool-headed.
I never watched the 90s fantastic four...nor it's Iron Man or Ghost Rider related stuff either actually. (aside from Iron man cameo in Spider-man) Not sure what they were like.
90's Spider-man is nostalgic. It wasn't great, but it was memorable and decent. Only flaw big enough to be a big issue was how it moved too fast past paced with little breathing room. X-men was great for me in the 90s, though I will admit watching it now..it's cheesier than I remembered. Alot cheesier. Still has some good episodes though.
@JRSanchez93 Not really. I might concede on the first two seasons of X-Men. But as a lifelong Spider-Man fan, from long before that show aired, I thought that show was a slap in the face.
@GregXB3 i agree...yet disagree....the x-men and spiderman did not suck those were the best cartoons out during the 90's but the iron man, fantastic 4 and any other marvel cartoon did suck
@GregXB3 All 4 were among the best cartoons. Debating peckingorder is just a waste of time. We should relish the fact we had 4 cartoons that great. >_> a big change with nowadays...
@Darthvegeta800 I think Spectacular Spider-Man kicked the ass of 90's Spidey (with more respect to the source material and better talent on the show), and Avatar and Avengers are pretty awesome too.
@rherbe2 There you go! The Red Skull! My comic knowledge is rusty! Thanks GregXB3 and Rherbe2 for some comic education! It's still fun stuff at any age!
@keywork00 There is a book called THE DICTIONARY. You may have heard of it. In this book there are words, which are sorted in alphabetical order, and next to those words are definitions.
all 90's marvel shows sucked? like hell they did! those shows were not only awesome but had far more depth than the crap thats on now. ESPECIALLY the X-men TAS for awesome cameos and dynamic storylines. gregxb3 is a fuckin' idiot.
yes he is really a good guy. he is just obsessed with power. his country is really a utopia. he hates the ff because they always in his way particually reed who feels he is a show off.
Simon is a good voice actor, but i thought his voice here was too prissy fast for Doom. Ive always envisioned his voice as deep, cruel, and mechanical; similar to Vader's voice. this is why i liked Paul Dobson's voice even though world's greatest heroes was crap
dr Doom appears in every marvel tv show. I remebered when i first saw him on Spiderman and thought to be one of the original arch enemies of spiederman.
I love how dr.doom is suppose to be a bad guy but in all reality hes not anything nea evil he wants to take over the earth so he can rule it the right way....but everyone wud rather have obama run our country so they stop him "__"
The most hilarious Doom moment was when he was seen crying in the 9/11 special issue. I guess he thinks it's okay when he kills people, but not those damn towelheads.
"Yes I'm so sorry to involve you in the time-worn damsel-in-distress cliche', Mrs. Richards. I fear the only thing missing is the old rushing train. However, sometimes expediency outweighs originality."
Doctor Doom is one of the most powerful villains ever, when he has the powers of Silver Surfer then he could easily defeat both Venom & Carnage, Sauron, Voldemort, Grand Moff Tarkin, The Green Goblin, Maleficent, Emperor Matues, Sephiroth, Darkseid, and even Frieza.
@92af Ok you are high if you think he can defeat frieza. Venom and Carnage weren't really that powerful to begin with, they just had slightly improved physical abilities to spider-man without the brains. With Voldemort it's more a matter of weather the spells would work on Doom. Green Goblin is a planner, not much of a fighter so yea. Isn't Sauron an "I have an endless army" type of villain?
He's a whacky character though. He's a walking cliche in that department. That's also why hes fun.
@DarkD11 With cosmic powers such as if he steals Odin Force or Galactus yes he can for they are both at the very least way above planet level even when Galactus is at his starving state. Voldemort sadly doesn't compare to MArvel level of magic. Not saying Voldemort's spells will fail but Doom has much superior prowess. He is pretty much the villain Batman in terms of prep time as well thats one reason he is wacky.

@Ultramarine646 Really? I thought the writing and acting on 90's Spidey was piss poor. Not the actors fault, Tony Pastor just couldn't direct... and well, no one ever hires him too. As for the writing, well... John Semper was a hack who just didn't get the character or his world.

@GregXB3 The only actors who did truly great in that show regardless of direction were Ed Asner as Jameson, Roscoe Lee Browne as the Kingpin, Jim Cummings as Shocker, and Mark Hamill as Hobgoblin. Everyone else....needed work.
Even the X-Men series? I've only seen a handful of episodes myself, and that was years ago, but I keep reading on various sites how good it supposedly was. Heck, the Nostalgia Critic placed it at # 3 on his animated shows top 11. Then again, he did call Transformers 2 "adequately satisfying" soooo yeah, maybe he can't always be trusted :)
@bats2099 The first two seasons of X-Men were okay, and I loved it at the time. But the series aged horribly. It never knew what it wanted to be. I also think trying to tell modern, 90's comic stories was a mistake. Batman TAS, and Gargoyles were both far superior to it.
@GregXB3 Fair enough. Oh, also, I've gotta ask this as long as everyone's talking about Marvel toons: Have you gotten the chance to check out the new Avengers series yet? It's not quite at the same level as Spec Spidey, but it's still a great time. And the voice cast rocks! Jeffrey Combs is the Leader! The Question's back, and now he's giving villainy a try just to mix it up! We're all doomed!
By not knowing what the series wanted to be, are talking about stuff like including all those alien plots that had absolutely nothing to do with the original premise of the show?
@dragonstormx The alien plots, the time travel plots... forcing in stupid characters like Cable and Gambit. Etc, etc.
I did watch X-Men Evolution, and while I definitely enjoyed it, it's not my favorite X-Men series. It was probably the best version of Apocalypse ever... a character I detest in most of his incarnations.
@dragonstormx Superman TAS is okay, Batman Beyond is the second best Spider-Man cartoon ever. And I loved the second season of JL and first two seasons of JLU.
@dragonstormx I wrote a lengthy essay on this over at my blog. Short version, he's a dull, shallow, very poorly thought out, and uninteresting character
You have an opinion on Onslaught? I've asked about him, but not gotten much info. What I can gather causes me to place him as a good idea that wasn't used to its fullest since in the end for all the build leading up to him he just seemed like a Magneto rehash.

@Ultramarine646 the 90's x-men was an amazing cartoon series

@DaBearsRockMySox Yeah, I loved it, but it never aired on the TV stations I watched, sadly.

@GregXB3
By not knowing what the series wanted to be, are talking about stuff like including all those alien plots that had absolutely nothing to do with the original premise of the show?
On that note, did you ever watch X-men Evolution?
dragonstormx 11 months ago
@dragonstormx The alien plots, the time travel plots... forcing in stupid characters like Cable and Gambit. Etc, etc.
I did watch X-Men Evolution, and while I definitely enjoyed it, it's not my favorite X-Men series. It was probably the best version of Apocalypse ever... a character I detest in most of his incarnations.

You haven't said on many of your videos what your opinions of Superman TAS, Batman Beyond, or JLA. What do you think of those?
dragonstormx 11 months ago
@dragonstormx Superman TAS is okay, Batman Beyond is the second best Spider-Man cartoon ever. And I loved the second season of JL and first two seasons of JLU.

What don't you like about Apocalypse?
dragonstormx 10 months ago
@dragonstormx I wrote a lengthy essay on this over at my blog. Short version, he's a dull, shallow, very poorly thought out, and uninteresting character

@GregXB3
You have an opinion on Onslaught? I've asked about him, but not gotten much info. What I can gather causes me to place him as a good idea that wasn't used to its fullest since in the end for all the build leading up to him he just seemed like a Magneto rehash.
