"Lying" is too strong a word for what O'Reilly does. Lying requires deliberation. Clearly he has no actual beliefs, but merely speaks in reaction to talking points without thinking. "Lying" is too strong a word for what O'Reilly does. Lying requires deliberation. Clearly he has no actual beliefs, but merely speaks in reaction to talking points without thinking. When it's time to cast kids as irresponsible, he does that. When it's time to summon moral outrage over a child predator, he can do that, too. He's just playing a character, and in a way, doublespeaking without trying.

He practically blamed the kid in the interview with Greta for not "wanting" to escape from the kidnapper because he probably liked staying with him more than his family! I'm not a psychologist, but isn't "child sexual abuse accomodation syndrome" as O'Reilly describes it essentially the same as what people mean when they say "Stockholm Syndrome"? Im saying there was NO EVIDENCE OF ANY SEXUAL CONTACT in the initial police report which was the only information available to Bill O'Reilly at the time. So according to the police report he wasnt being raped. On that fact I would have made the same assumption. Its not saying that he liked getting raped if the police report said he wasnt. where does he lie? Let me make myself clear: my personal opinion of Bill O'reilly is that he is intentionally controversial, and designs his programme to appeal to his target audience. He's not an idiot, but he presents a side to every story that most people find irrational if not disturbing.
This video shows nothing other than another of his crackpot theories which later is proved wrong and he has to eat his words. Where are the lies and hypocrisy?

And some people's explanation for him not leaving was that he had Stockholm syndrome. They were wrong; so was Bill. Bill said something very presumptuous and, frankly, judgmental "out loud," but he never apologized.

It had to be one or the other. Bill was just expressing his opinion. Why should he apologize for that. If that's the case then every psychologist that agreed with him has to apologize too along with anyone else who ever had a theory about something and was wrong. It's pointless.

He needs to apologize for saying a dumb, slanderous thing about this kid without a shred of evidence to support his claims. If you were kidnapped and raped and someone said you enjoyed it, wouldn't that hurt your feelings? You won't expect an apology? What's the big deal anyway? Why is it so difficult to say "I was wrong to say that and I am sorry"?

At that point when he said that, Shawn hadn't been raped yet. Just kidnapped and according to the police report initially, they found NO evidence of restraints, they determined that the kidnapper was gone most of the day because of his job and Shawn and the other boy there had access to games and other forms of entertainment. 2+2=4

The boy was kidnapped from his family by a strange man. Children tend to be very attached to their family. Why would a man kidnap a child he doesn't know, and keep him for 4 years without demanding Ransom?
