excellent video. i love canals and locks and often walked along those banks in central birmingham and brindley place. it looks like a lovely scenic route too and not too many locks to navigate !!! is it possible to do this route on a narrow boat alone ?
@dozzyboy79 Probably the part outside Birmingham should be easy enough. As Birmingham is on a hill every way in involves lock. A lot of the older canals tend to have less locks as it was preferred to follow a contour where possible than build locks in many cases

Bad areas are okay if you are sensible - don't moor overnight in secluded unsecure areas and smile at but don't provoke locals.
A friend's flat overlooks a former dock near the canal terminus in Liverpool that used to be unsafe (vandals etc) but now is secure all part of the regeneration for the Liverpool Link.
My last trip around Birmingham canals included a heavily weeded secluded canal which delayed us reaching mooring until well after dusk but came through fine.
There are many canals in Birmingham (a large urban city), stretching a 100 miles in total (stat from BW), many go through run-down deprived areas that historically have higher crime rates.
We abhor the lack of assertive ladies of a certain proclivity towards the top of the Curdworth Flight. But, apart from this lapse, wonderful stuff as always.

Does the Leeds and Liverpool Canal go though any bad areas that might be a danger to a Narrow Boat?

Is the Badlands a high crime section of the canal?

Great video! This is funny because I just did a time-lapse video myself using music from Paniq. I guess his stuff is fitting for time-lapse? hehe
