  • Neat stuff, I'm actually glad I stayed up to watch all six. (not necessarily so about a few of the side videos I caught along the way tho, lol) What was the deal with them saying he had 47 chromosomes early on though.. was that merely a mistake in test results and/or am I remembering something wrong?

  • Oliver looks more likely to have a genetic disorder of some sort, his face looks deformed and he can't keep his tongue in his mouth and the size and shape of his head looks like someone with some sort of special needs.

  • @AbsolutelyCrackers I cant remember the name of the sydrome but its caused by mothers drinking alchahol while they are pregnant. thats what he looks like he has

  • Now I feel like breaking out my dvd Rise of the planet of the apes.

  • umm... Maybe he's the re-incarnation of MLK! lol

  • @joshanator1 fucking bitch ass cracker!

  • make him have babies unless hes not fertle

  • @dandsworld Problem: He's the only example of his kind known to us at the moment. What they could easily do though, is clone him: They have his DNA archived and they also have a live source of it.

  • @HaniiPuppy thats what i meant but better worded

  • Its Karl Pilkington!

  • What ever the poor guy is, I am glad he found a decent place to live. Fuck that worthless cunt who raised him from a baby but sold him off so easily not even to a decent owner. Fuck the shitty scum bag lawyer pretending be want to help him and not care about money, yet after he stopped being famous, he some how ended up in a cage where he couldn't move and got expierimented on for almost 10 years.

  • @Sexyherozan

And who the fuck are you?

  • @Sexyherozan well said!! my thoughts exactly.

  • Big foot is out looking for his son.

  • Is Oliver still alive? If so, is he still in Texas? I wanna see him!

  • Caesar!

  • The pictures he looked very strange but the video of him in the sanctuary no one would realize he's different. He has appeared to become more ape-like with age.

  • missing link found.

  • Has this documentary forgotten that humans are in fact, great apes? Damn, who wrote this crap? Trying to make humans seem 'better'. Pfft, as if! Poor Oliver. You rock, buddy!

  • It would be interesting to do because Ibelieve it could greatly benefit science if it were successful. Can't imagine any women willing to have chimp sperm but inside them so it would have to be human sperm into a chimp.

  • Chimps and humans interbred for a few thousand years after the split. It'd be interesting to see if he has an unusually high concentration of genes from early humans, or if he is homozygous for one or more recessive alleles inherited by most chimps from early humans.

  • i'm a believer

    I LOVE YOU OLLIE

  • Question : if he has 47 chromosomes which chromosome is left "alone" and does that mean he can't breed because his sperm doesn't have half of his total chromosomes?

  • it was mutation to the chimps dna, that led to humans

  • the poor bugger had such a complicated life

  • fuck ethics!! we want to know and know and know ........

  • I was just joking calm the fuck down. They called him a mutant. I'm sorry if I offended you if you have 20 fingers or anything.

  • Funny the way normal chimpazees wanted nothing to do with him

  • Oliver is none other than a mutant chimp that cropped up like what happend a few million years ago which led to the evolution of man

  • Mutant? wtf is this X-men?

  • @thisisobviously do you even know what mutant means? its when the chromosomes of an organism alter, human mutants exist aswel, ever heard of albinos? black people having pale white blonde children? they are mutants, ever heard of chernobyl? many people born after the terrible accident are mutants. for example they could have horns, they could have arms the size of their legs, have 20 fingers they could have no arms at all. etc

  • They changed his name, dressed him in a suit and moved him to a new location: 1600 Pennsylvania Ave...

  • Oliver (born circa 1958) is a Common Chimpanzee and a former performing ape once promoted as a missing link or "Humanzee" due to his unusually human-like face and a tendency to walk upright. Despite his somewhat unusual appearance and behavior, scientists determined in the 1990s that Oliver is not a human-chimpanzee hybrid.

  • sad tale of exploitation, as with that ish about Hottentot Venus.

  • I wish I could watch Drastic Plastic.

  • he's an alien chimp!

  • He's not an ancient link to anything!! If Oliver were allowed to reproduce chimp offspring, he will be a link for FUTURE chimpanzees with the ability to walk.

  • Subspecies makes the most sense! Like it happened when our ancestors might evolved into humans...

  • he's not a hybrid he just likes to walk like a pimp

  • @viclle He's a Pimpanzee.

  • I am not an expert but he does really give the impression of being a living fossil

any expert who would comment on the possibility of him being a unique mutation or member of an unknown specie?

  • as i read the comments i find on any and all videos i find the human kind is is becoming so foul that it is extremely embarrassing people need to grow up keep your disgusting language for your equally ignorant friends it is people like that is destroying

    EVERYTHING

  • Hmmmm.... would a human woman be able to fit a chimp baby inside her?

  • It's not surprising that he wouldn't mate with a female chimpanzee. He will have been taken from his mother as a baby & have sexually imprinted on to humans.

Had he been left in the wild, he could have been a truely remarkable step in simian evolution. Oh well, perhaps in another million years?

It's absolutely shamefull the way the great apes, our closest relatives have been exploited in circuses, zoos & research labs. The misery these animals have been forced to endure for our entertainment.

  • @crowhawk This. You hit the real tragedy right on the head-- and people miss it because of a fundamental misunderstanding of evolution--

Oliver's ability to walk is definitely genetic, but since he never mated with a female chimp, the possibility of more chimps being born that way took a huge step backward.

Save his sperm, implant it in a wild female chimp, and let's try this again, this time without the media circus..

  • @ajboyer I totally agree

  • Do chimp's faces darken as they age? Oliver's complexion changed drastically while he was being stored in that lab, didn't it?

  • Barking Deer has 46 chromosome does it mean its a human ??

down syndrome people are born with 47 chromosomes does that make them less human ?? clearly oliver is a mutant or hybrid of some kind.

  • Evolution.

  • I dont think that is the same chimp u kno once they found out he was part human they had to mate him probe him all that shit they do.... look how now its not a hybrid yeah right they have done that and more believe it secret keepin motherfuckers

  • Damn He didnt get to live a happy life, i mean being in a cage for 9 years for lookin different and being rejected by his own kind. that just shows you how the cruel this world can be.

  • Very sad how curel humanity has become. They put him in a cage for 9 years for looking different. And people's comments seem to be more cruel than the action bestowed upon him. Chimps belong in the wild. Not for our entertainment or research. Time we respected all aspects of life. The day will come when the future generations will be calling us wild and savage. Where is our intelligents , the more advanced we bcome themore savage we become.

  • @nicolassabbah i agree with you 100%

  • gingers are proof that no one cares

  • Probably wasn't the real oliver.... were being lied to

  • sorry to say this but one guy said something interesting from 6:00 "this can be a very cruel world for something that is different ........ it's gonna be a very difficult life for u!" history has a very similar story but with human beings who are different sadly.

  • @hillchrest vary vary true and lots of us experience it.

  • id rather do a human

  • Im so glad he had a happy ending, going through all the parts I expected him to be mistreat and die,at least he is happy in the sactuary :)

  • There are so many WEIRD human beings in the world!! one weird chimp comes along and we make a big deal!

  • 0:00 says '10.00PM tonight Bisexual Girls' XD

  • Oliver is something a lot more interesting than a hybrid... he is either an atavism or an evolutionary jump.

  • @Eikinkloster He's probably a mutation. An unsuccesful one that didn't breed, which is how most evolution is caused.

  • its not even the same chimp!!

  • i think it could be a different chimp, after he was "re-found" he just doesnt seem to be the same. his skin is different, he doesn't walk on two legs due to "arthritis" and doesn't show as many human qulities as before. of course it could be very likely that he is the same chimp. but perhaps he's just a typical chimp, born with a mutation small head and has been taught to walk on 2 legs but can't do so for very long (like all chimps that are taught to walk on 2 legs)...maybe liver was a humanzee

  • @cheezoid4life he's old and wrinkly thats why i mean does your granny look like she did during 30%of her life span compared to 70%(based on a life span of 100 year human)

  • @cheezoid4life chimps get darker skin when they are older.

  • liars. course he's half chimp half human

  • y people cant believe that god create humans from mud ???

  • @MrOracos

Well first we would have to be daft enough to believe in God. I wonder why people could think we were from mud. Anything like evidence?

  • mitochondrial DNA is passed from the mother.

  • You don't need a hybrid to see how humans treat ALL other species (apart from their own). So-called science keeps thousand of animals in cages to be tortured and killed every day. For your damn shampoo. So don't give me humane bullshit.

  • Maybe we are all Oliver. Hmmm.

  • so hes a retarded chimp? thought so

  • @chunkymonkey01 More like mutant

  • @chunkymonkey01 You're a retarded chimp.

  • Does anyone here know what the additional two chromosomes do?

  • @daninjaj13 The additional two chromosomes are really just copies of each other, so there's only one real distinct "extra" chromosomes that chimps have. We have 23 pairs, chimps have 24. This is because you get one chromosome (CH) from your mother and one from your father, and every pair is almost identical except the sex CHs. Further, we have all the sequences of the additional chromosome that chimps have, it's just been fused to another CH, CH 2 in humans.

  • Karl!

  • grilled i agree

  • I don't care what he is, I just want to give him a hug.

  • Fuck morality take someones sperm put it in a chimp and lets see what happens.

  • @GrilledCheese2theMAX Are you a girl? 'Cause I think a female womb would be more useful then a Chimps...

  • @basman777 No I'm a Male and I think it's better off to put the sperm inside of a chimp or most specifically a bonobo. This way we can see if homosapians and other primates can produce offspring without any harm to humans.

  • @GrilledCheese2theMAX Agreed, but I think we can expect the offspring to be quite bigger than a normal chimp or bonobo, which might tear the uterus apart and kill the baby.

  • @basman777 That won't be a problem we can just observe if something is being born for the first couple of weeks then sadly put the baby to sleep if it does indeed get to big inside. Or we can surgically remove the baby from the chimps stomach. But problem is this is really fucking with nature but it's all in the name of science so I think it would be ok. Another problem is if we find out this is possible other people might try to do it. Our laws would get messed up for what is human and whatisnt

  • @GrilledCheese2theMAX Indeed. It might change our standards of morality. A lot of people would protest and, as you say, abuse it. I guess that's why we should do our experiment in secret and only report directly to the world leaders, and decide from there what to do. I'd really wanna participate in such an experiment

  • @basman777 Haha Who's to say this very thing hasn't already happened. If so then I think It's very likely because we don't have an answer to it yet.

  • @GrilledCheese2theMAX Yeah! If two YouTubers like us wanna research this, then surely some mad scientist would think 'fuck the law' and try it! I know I would if I had the power XD

  • @GrilledCheese2theMAX

Why don't find a female chimp and put your own sperm it it and see what happens!?!

  • @paulosio Get me a chimp.

  • @GrilledCheese2theMAX fuck you

  • @GrilledCheese2theMAX YouTube commentators are the proof that humanzee exists.

  • @UTubeisSHIT523441 Don't make fun of humanzees.

  • @GrilledCheese2theMAX I think we should do something similar, but instead of creating humanzees, we should construct a complete, physical copy of the neanderthal genome and put it in an embryo.

  • Comment removed

  • @GrilledCheese2theMAX lol why is everyone so mad.

  • I think he is a quarter human

  • @emokiller907

It's something like that yeah, this is a monkey that's in the process of evolving. That's why his DNA is different and he has the same amount of chromosons as chimpanzees. We will see more of these the next 500 years

  • @emokiller907 From your comment i think YOU'RE a quarter human

  • It's interesting how the discovery of a "strange chimp" was immediately assumed to be part human and not a mutant or different breed of chimp. There is an unnatural fixation with discovering the missing link, so much so, that farses like this are the result. If it were'nt for that poor chimp being exploited, this would be almost as funny as Geraldo opening the empty vault.

  • "What's holding scientists back is not technology, but morality. And that, traditionally, does not have a long shelf-life". very true words

  • Very interesting and sad. I'm glad he's living the rest of his years in a comfortable place. No animal should ever be kept in a cage like that, no matter the species.

  • BS.I wasted one fucking hour to watch about a chimpanzee

  • @rodriquz It's called "Oliver the Chimpanzee". That didn't indicate to you that perhaps the hour ahead would be about... A CHIMPANZEE? XD

  • @Megara I should have been as smart as u.:)

  • @rodriquz Mhm, why do I feel this is a sarcastic remark? LoL ^_^

  • @Megara Hey I mean it.Dont search different meanings in it.cool:)

  • I meant to say that if his father was human, these tests would not prove or negate that. These tests mean nothing.

  • something tells me those scientist lied....

  • Oliver's MITOCHONDRIAL DNA is not human. We already knew that. Mitochondrial DNA comes from the mother. His mother was a chimp. His father was the human and this would not show from these tests. What are these scientists trying to hide, or are they just that stupid?

  • @homeschoolingwithaop And you're assuming his father was human.

  • Fuck this, I wanna see the documentary about Bisexual Girls.

  • A spitting image of prince charles,if you ask me:P

  • Define Human!

  • Is it not obvious that Oliver is a "test" by nature to continue the evolution of chimpanzees? I think that he is the first step in their evolution. As for the possibility of a real humanzee, anyone who ever tries such a thing should burn in hell. Only because it would be the cruelest thing to give life to such a creature. If science lacks any feeling, then there is no need for it anymore.

  • Comment removed

  • @OhMyGodSushiRoll Noone has the right to give life to anything, is being human any easier than whatever that creature would be? Really? We're just disensitised to our reality because we're living in it and we have a survival instinct.

Incase you havent guessed, I'm an anti-natalist.

  • Why is that guy making out with that chimp???

  • Freck'n weirdo thing...

  • Comment removed

  • @sunnydale22 How about duh? No scientist argues that we evolved from chimpanzees. The evidence shows that both humans and chimpanzees evolved from common ancestors. The common ancestor is extinct today, but we have fossil records.

Humans are members of the great ape family, however, so to say that we're "completely" different species isn't accurate.

Also saying that evolution doesn't exist makes you seem like you were born in the 1300's.

  • Comment removed

  • @sunnydale22 "evolution doesn't exist?" Where do all the different species come from?

  • @easternmind -__-

I'm sorry, I had originally meant to say that humans did not evolve from chimpanzees, but yes, I know scientific research proves that we have similar ancestry, so on. as for other species, sure thing. :P

  • @sunnydale22 - Ah, totally. I'm not meaning to pick apart anything you've said, rather merely to engage in conversation on the topic. : )

  • @easternmind It's all good. : )

  • @easternmind I'll do this for them:

Oh God just wanted some variation, I mean, you wouldn't want to look at your mother all the time either right? A few nice ladies here, hairy men there, and for God animals and humans are all just a toy of his fabrication.

So you see, there are this many species because God was fucking bored while creating this ball of mud in a week or so.

    /sarcasm

  • @TheOnlyArtifex - Haha

  • mtDNA come from the mother...ithe mother is most definately a chimp because if Oliver came out out a human mother, we'd have heard about it back when he was born or his world fame would have compelled some woman to come forward as the mother...so being that it's obvious the mtDNA is from a mother chimp, of course it's going to have 48 chromosomes...they should have checked the nuclear DNA...perhaps it would have shown he had 47 chromosomes

  • By the way, why do recent pictures look like a mask was put on Oliver? My last point until a more conclusive scientific test is done.

  • They could clone Oliver, correct?

  • That's not Oliver. I don't think he recovered the original monkey.

  • OMG SO THAT MONKEY IST A PERSOON? THEY SHOULD AT LEAST AHVE IT WEARIN CLOTTHES THEN

  • is he still a live??

  • i really expected him to be a man and i really hope the mtDNA was the truth if not they have commited a BIG lie.

  • oliver is probaly 25 percent chimp

    human and chimp mate

    humanzee mates with chimp

    then that made oliver

  • @masterfun101 Odds are if a human and a chimp produced an offspring successfully the "humanzee" would be sterile.

  • You can't have a subspecies with one individual. I can't stand the narration.

  • Weird innit?

  • Fuck mtDNA. We need to map Oliver's genome.

  • Just read that in Apr 2008 Oliver was at a watermelon party for a Friends of Primary Primates. The sanctary had a court dispute about their board of directors. Squabbles aside Oliver is said to be doing well and has ape friends! He also is housed with a girlfriend named Raisin! He is said he is trying to impress her. Bless Primary Primates!

  • BISEXUAL GIRLS TONIGHT AT 10!! LOL!

  • Why didn't they just teach him sign language to see what he (oliver) had to say?!!!

    +

If he's really a chimp then why is he attracted to humans?

  • 2:39 "Furthest reaches of the Congo jungle..."

Am I the only one here who caught a little Lovecraftian drift? I mean, the Facts Concerning the Late Arthur Jermyn and His Family...

  • I saw that Asian lab technician, he was working with embryos in jurrassic park when I went there I swear

  • stupid science! Science doesnt always have the answer to EVERYTHING!!! He could be half human. Maybe. who knows??? hmmm...it will always be a mystery

  • @MariLanderos39 I am sad how Oliver ended :(

  • @komek me too :(

  • @MariLanderos39 He has the same amount of chromosones as a Chimp :/ So he is a Chimp. However like Archaenum said mutation causes disease. Not bipedality.

  • @Omfgwhtavid did you know that coloured eyes are a mutation? Albino people are a mutation, six fingered people,. Mutations don't all cause desease, and not all mutations are ugly and deformed. They are called mutations because they are changes in the DNA sequence, that's it.

  • @MariLanderos39 Yes, because counting DNa isn't conclusive... Just because you WISH it to be a hybrid it doesn't mean it IS a hybrid.

  • hes an albino

  • ' so is he a humanze or not?

all this is confusing. I had to bear like 5 clips of this just to get to the damn answer! and i still dont get it, JUST GIVE IT TO ME SIMPLE! '

    it's a chimp.

  • I feel sorry for this poor animal, exploited and kept away from the wild his whole life.

  • @S3AANNN I do to :/ But in an earlier episode it said that the other Chimps didn't accept him. I know they say he is a Chimp and it seems that way but Chimps still accept other Chimps with mutations.....so to speak into their little groups. It's rare they would reject something like that. I know all the evidence points to him being a Chimp but their is something about him I can't explain. If you look at the whites of his eyes they're like a Humans......It's creepy :/ Poor thing

  • @Omfgwhtavid

it's not rare for a group of animals to reject another of their own species because it's different. humans do it too, all the time.

  • @S3AANNN Well it was said early on that other chimps shunned him

  • umm, so is he a humanze or not?

all this is confusing. I had to bear like 5 clips of this just to get to the damn answer! and i still dont get it, JUST GIVE IT TO ME SIMPLE!

  • Dont Monkey with tarzan , or he will go nuts :o)

  • Why did they put a chain around his neck? It must've been degrading for him.

  • Whoever kept Oliver in a cage for years needs to have their ass kicked.

  • @Jon839508 yeah, it's not like he can help us in biological research or anything. LOL.

  • @evelsteev That was horrible keeping him in a cage for that long. No sense in it.

  • @Jon839508 or he can die alone with no chimp to keep him company, or no human to love him.

  • oliver rules. i want to meet him and shake his hand

  • that's fascinating 10 million years ago 50 primates roamed the planet!

  • What a waste of time! This documentary shouldn't have more been more than 5 minutes long!

  • Oh fuck off.

  • true

  • @syedyasirkamal your a homo, you should probably go die.

  • @NexopiaWhore What a nice lady.

  • @syedyasirkamal are u nuts!?!? u better say what a waste of a perfect example of a humanzee's life! not for a fucking documentary!

  • @syedyasirkamal yet you watched nearly an hour or more of it. Hmmm.

  • i mean no offense when i say this, but if u look @ Oliver's earlier tapes/pics, he almost looks like the 'Dover Demon'...if u don't know what that is look it up before jumping to conclusions.
