sometime is not neccessary to use the thinning shares because you thinning out enough of hair with the razor already. thinning out too much well remove that body you created.

I need some thinning shears

I use normal haircutting and just cut upwards

it works the same but I rely on my own eye (hasn't failed me yet) and thinning shears would probably be more reliable
