Good job man! Is that a Schecter C-1 ? How does that neck feel ? I heard it's much thicker than the Ibanez wizard.. is it more difficult to play this part on the Schecter ? I'm torn out between an Ibanez guitar or a Schecter...
It's a C7 hellraiser actually so pretty much a C1 with another string. I have an ibanez wizard necked guitar as well and there is definitely a big difference in the feel of the two, the bridge and neck feel totally different, took a while to get used to. I honestly have to say that its not easier to play on one or the other once I get used to it. The schecter has a lot thicker neck but I've never personally found that a thick neck slows me down. Just try and play them both :)
another great cover! i was just wondering if you could give me any helpful tips on how you got your picking hand up to speed? i try using my wrist like you do, but i cant get past a certain speed, any help would be appreciated! nice job on the cover to!
Cheers man, thanks for the comment. I use a combination of wrist and thumb/index finger movement. I found that if I only used wrist I couldn't get the control I wanted, so I just naturally progressed to using 'hand' movements as well. It is hard to explain, I might make a video about it if I have time tomorrow, since I get a few questions about it. As for speed, I think I focused just on playing single notes, tremolo-ing for periods to build speed, then I focused on accuracy after that.
You know what the problem is with youtube covers..everyone expects someone covering on youtube to match the skill and quality of a famous performer or band that has been playing for 15-20+ years, they need to get good and calm down. (ehem shogunfails) l2p shogun, l2p.
