The real PS3 Emulator is in R20 and the source code has been released on Google. This is fake, playing on people's hopes, but I wouldn't expect a working one for at least the next 5 years, and certainly not a perfect one for at least a few more!

im playing skyrim @ a few other like games on xp using bootcamp @ my mac runs them fine. while a gaming computer should always blow a console out of the water "build yourself & dont waste money" so its not an issue when ur playing a game that came out on multi. systems but when u have 2 emulate an xbox360/ps3 ur usual top of the line pc cant handle simply because cpu cant handle. i was reading and just saw some comments that disturbed me. ok heres the deal currently the emulators run pretty much entirely on the cpu so its really doesnt matter to much how good your graphics card is or your memory hence why you can barely play ps2 games on a pc ive tried it with madden 12 while playable its terrible quality.
There's no PS3 emulator. Emulators are complex tools intended to be used by developers and people searching custom gaming experience. They require YEARS of hard work to create. Not to mention PC's with MUCH better hardware than the used in the consoles.
Such technology doesn't exist yet and won't be around for the next five years, being optimist. Get the real thing.

To create an emulator, you don't need a machine barely stronger than the console: You need a MUCH stronger machine.
PC easily outclass the PS3 and Xbox 360 in any multi-plataform game, but "tricking" it to act like one of those consoles is in a whole new level of difficulty.

When I hit Backspace and Enter I get 'Invalid Verb Index'. I did all the description said but every time I press Backspace and Enter the PS3 boot screen loads up in Windows Media Player and I get 'Invalid Verb Index' error. Please help :(
it just needs a file named "MSCOMCTL.OCX" (google it) download it and then just copy/paste it in same folder as "ps3emu.exe"file :D i hope i helped coz it works :)

The ps3 has a processor named as the cell broadband engine and it just has 1 physical core with 8 SPEs or Synergistic processing elements. @Zulfikaar219 especially in light of the fact you can run dual processors now on some of the really high end motherboards as well as dual and quad pci-e graphics cards. if you got the money it can easily be emulated performance wise...however tech wise. it will take a long time to successfully copy over all of the play stations code to a working emulator but bases have already been created.

Yeah coding the emulators correctly is quite important. Today intel has some amazing 6 core processors which blow away any console. Actually there are 9 cores. 1st is a PowerPC that is the PPE and there are 8 SPEs, 6 of which are accessible for developers. 1 of them is disabled and the other runs the OS.
BTW a Ps3 dont run on a 8 Core. When the PS3 was released there was not a 8 Core CPU on the market yet. It runs with a normal Quad core CPU. So dont let it fool you. It is a quad core CPU and nothing more :)

I don't get it, a computer that can handle the graphic abilities of a PS3 would cost well over double that of an actual PS3. Go on Newegg and see how much a decent graphics card alone costs. It's expensive. PS3's are cheap in comparison to PCs. And if he really has to save every cent to keep his house he probably shouldn't have gotten it. Getting a house that costs more than he can easily afford payments for, is the kind of stupidity in the real estate market that caused the "troubles" he's in.
If you're a pc gamer you go well beyond that minor standard within the first 300 dollars you spend.
It's not expensive to build a pc capable of running everything on the market at all high settings, you don't need to go out and buy a gtx 590, god knows that the ps3 doesn't have anything comparable to that.
After installing and searching through the "data" folder i find this emulator to be a fake, within the data folder are merely documents from the users computer as well as a text file named "fisher" as well as pictures and text files of emails.
i have downloaded this emulator, im currently working on making it work. i'll be posted updates on whether it is real or fake on my channel to settle this once and for all, if it works, thanks for the download, if not, why troll it? srsly.

The ps3 has a processor named as the cell broadband engine and it just has 1 physical core with 8 SPEs or Synergistic processing elements. Like you said 6 SPEs are used for games, 1 is for security and the last is an extra. You guys should do some research before you guys comment. If the ps3's processor would have 8 cores it would blow away the Core i7 990x. Use common sense!

@Zulfikaar219 especially in light of the fact you can run dual processors now on some of the really high end motherboards as well as dual and quad pci-e graphics cards. if you got the money it can easily be emulated performance wise...however tech wise. it will take a long time to successfully copy over all of the play stations code to a working emulator but bases have already been created.

@forsakenworlddragons I completely agree to what you said. Current Gen High-End PCs can run PS3,Xbox 360,Ps2,Wii all simultaneously without having much difficulty. Yeah coding the emulators correctly is quite important. Today intel has some amazing 6 core processors which blow away any console. Some people think the ps3 got 8 cores, some think the ps3 got 9 cores. Its quite flawed to think about something that doesn't exist. Well the ps3 costs 250 US$ and it has an 8 core chip??? Really?? FOOLS.

Actually there are 9 cores. 1st is a PowerPC that is the PPE and there are 8 SPEs, 6 of which are accessible for developers. 1 of them is disabled and the other runs the OS.

BTW a Ps3 dont run on a 8 Core. When the PS3 was released there was not a 8 Core CPU on the market yet. It runs with a normal Quad core CPU. So dont let it fool you. It is a quad core CPU and nothing more :)

Its a quad core cpu with hyper threading. Each core runs two threads, so it shows as a 8 core.

A lot cheaper than a super computer system.One would have to dump $6000USD for a extreme proformance rig water cool at least sli GTX 590 or triple GTX 580, 16Gb RAM, Extreme Intel chip count that price it gets there. @sopro2293829 True, I'm not saying the PS3 is some sort of graphical god or anything, but factoring in the overall cost of a computer, not just the GPU, but the CPU, Ram, PSU, Mobo, Case, Hard Drives, and CD or even now Blu Ray players, that adds up to at least the same amount of money if not more than a PS3. All I'm saying is for the money to get a PC to play PS3 games you could easily afford a PS3, and calling people spoiled for having a PS3 when the guy with the nice PC wouldn't be, is dumb.

I don't get it, a computer that can handle the graphic abilities of a PS3 would cost well over double that of an actual PS3. Go on Newegg and see how much a decent graphics card alone costs. It's expensive. PS3's are cheap in comparison to PCs. And if he really has to save every cent to keep his house he probably shouldn't have gotten it. Getting a house that costs more than he can easily afford payments for, is the kind of stupidity in the real estate market that caused the "troubles" he's in.
